After three years of back-and-forth talks between AEG Live and New York promoter Bowery Presents, the global powerhouse has made it to the final round of negotiations to acquire the 23-year-old event producer. The strategic move is indicative of AEG’s intent to achieve bi-coastal domination, arriving just months after the inaugural Panorama Festival was announced.
Bowery Presents boasts a strong network of key New York venues, including Bowery Ballroom, Mercury Lounge, Terminal 5, Rough Trade, and Music Hall of Williamsburg. The former independent promoter also showcases events at Madison Square Garden, Barclays Center, Brooklyn Bowl, and the Capitol Theater in Westchester, NY, adding a wide range of fresh options to AEG’s burgeoning repertoire.
With Live Nation calling dibs on Founders Entertainment and AEG Live very likely to soon call Bowery Presents its newest subsidiary, the war between promoters continues to heat up.
