A Tribe Called Quest has had an emotional ride since beloved member Malik “Phife Dawg” Taylor passed away in 2016. After touring in support the group’s latest album — We got it from Here… Thank You 4 Your service — Q-Tip, Jarobi and Ali Shaheed Muhammad decided ATCQ was done. The toll Phife’s death took was too much to bare.
Now, ATCQ has returned with what they’re calling their “final” video.
Spearheaded by longtime director Warren Fu (The Weeknd, Aaliyah, Snoop Dogg, Pharrell), the roughly eight-minute visual features cameos from Erykah Badu, Common, Questlove, Vince Staples, Pharrell, Alicia Keys and Janelle Monaé, among others.
While the video is primarily an apocalyptic affair, the ending is the most impactful. As it comes to a close, the words, “FOR MALIK.” appear at the bottom right the screen. Once the credits start rolling, a montage old Phife photos start popping up, showing the legendary Hip Hop group in its heyday.
When asked if this was really goodbye to ATCQ as we know it, Jarobi told HipHopDX with a laugh, “Who knows?”
For the time being, watch clips the video above and stream it exclusively on Apple Music.

Los Angeles, CA – The internet got hit with a whiff fake news Thursday (March 29) after reports circulated that Apple was preparing to cease digital downloads for its famed iTunes music application come 2019.
After being contacted by several industry insiders inquiring about the validity these reports, HipHopDX reached out to Apple PR who told us “it’s simply not true.”
The rumors stem from a recent interview Apple executive Jimmy Iovine did with BBC where he predicted it would be “inevitable” for iTunes to phase out the downloading feature due to streaming’s immense popularity, but didn’t explicitly say it was actually happening.
Apple has been denying similar rumors since almost two years ago.

“If I’m honest, it’s when people stop buying. It’s very simple,” Iovine was quoted saying about a possible timeline.
The erroneous reports iTunes stopping downloads come on the heels a factual report courtesy the Record Industry Association America that highlights how vinyl records and CDs outsold digital downloads for the first time since 2011.
According to the RIAA, digital downloads fell to 1.3 billion in 2017, down 25 percent from the previous year.

Ne-Yo throws a global dance party on “Push Back,” his new single featuring Bebe Rexha and Stefflon Don.
The dance-ready banger finds the R&B gentleman bustin’ moves in the club. “Push back when I jump behind it,” he sings. “Baby, let me know you like it / Tonight, let’s give them something to see.”
Bebe does just that with the second verse. “My booty amazing,” she sings. “Come on, baby, chase it / Back to the floor, give us space.”
Meanwhile, Stefflon adds some dancehall flavor, rapping, “Push it back when me jump on the ting.”
“Push Back” is the latest release from Ne-Yo’s forthcoming album, Good Man, which has already spawned the D’Angelo-inspired title track.
“There will definitely be some pop songs on this album, but there will also be some R&B songs on this album,” Ne-Yo told “The Breakfast Club” last year. “I’m one the few artists that, my fans have allowed me to jump genres. I can do pop. I can do R&B. I can go over here and do a song with a Spanish artist or country artist, and my fans have allowed it. If they’re allowing me to do it, why not do it?”
In addition to Bebe Rexha and Stefflon Don, 2 Chainz, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Eric Bellinger, and Romeo Santos are also set to appear on Good Man.
The legal battle between DMX and the IRS is over. So, the rapper’s lawyer Murray Richman and the artist himself can stop fearing the unknown.
The case, which goes back months, ended with the New York native heading to prison for a year for one count tax evasion. The verdict handed down is reportedly a lenient one, as prosecutors were aiming for the max sentence.
Things are not looking up for Snapchat. No, not at all.
After trying to force a lame update on us, those running the social media messaging app made another grave error when they mocked Chris Brown‘s 2009 felony assault against superstar Rihanna. In an attempt to survive and restructure the company after all the backlash, Snap Inc. has decided to lay f about 100 employees. But this isn’t the company’s first round “It’s not you, it’s me,” according to Bloomberg.
While this round cuts focuses on the advertising side Snapchat, 22 content employees were laid f in January, and 120 engineers were laid f earlier in March. The layfs are reportedly in response to over-hiring.
Bloomberg states, “Snap, which operates the Snapchat app, cut around 120 engineers earlier this month, saying it wanted to maintain a high technical bar, according to an internal memo distributed at the time. In January, the company let about two dozen employees go on the content side its business. Those moves fueled further uncertainty for staff at a company that’s lost key executives and released a widely criticized product redesign.
After Giants management let media know the they had no intentions trading superstar receiver Odell Beckham Jr. it looks like thing may have changed in the Meadowlands.
According to Pat Leonard the New York Daily News, The Giants are “ficially open to fielding fers” for Beckham Jr. The Giants are reportedly asking for at least 2 first-round picks.
Ian Rapoport NFL.com reported earlier this week that Beckham Jr. was expected to hold-out on his contract until it was extended. His extension request was not only for the Giants, and the report makes it clear that wherever Beckham Jr. goes, he would not play until a long-term contract was on the table.
Earlier today DMX was sentenced to one year in prison for tax evasion after pleading guilty to dodging $1.7 million in taxes.
Prosecutors argued that DMX lived a “cash-only lifestyle for years” and depositing royalty checks into bank accounts that belonged to his manager, his ex-wife, and the mother one his children.
Judge Rakf stated that he believed that DMX was a good man at heart and handed him less than the 5-years in prison that prosecutors were seeking, but added that in regards to his crimes “It cannot go unpunished.”
