A Belgian music festival recently flaunted an impressive lineup which featured some exciting acts to the world. Yet, unexpectedly, the festival was canceled the very same day it was scheduled to start. And with the disaster that occurred at the Fyre Festival, which was thoroughly detailed in a controversial Netflix documentary, people have begun to see similarities between the two. The VestiVille lineup included stars Migos, Cardi B, Future and ASAP Rocky and was scheduled to begin on Friday. However, when ASAP Rocky revealed on Twitter prior to the festival’s unexpected cancelation that he would no longer be performing, suspicion arose.
“I won’t be performing today due to security and infrastructure concerns which relate to the production the show,” penned Rocky in a tweet. From there, multiple videos attendees on festival grounds began to surface online and shortly afterwards, those in attendance were informed the festival’s cancellation. A series tweets were shared from VestiVille’s Twitter account and the Fyre Festival comparisons erupted. To make matters worse, Ja Rule, who was also tied to Fyre Festival, was set to perform at Vesti. Many have accused VestVille fraud and the Brussels Times reports that the organizers have been charged with fraud after forging documents, laundering money and providing false invoices. Yikes! It appears we may have another Fyre Festival-like fiasco on our hands. And course, social media took it as an opportunity to mock the whole thing.
The 2012 fight between The Game and 40 Glocc still hasn’t been laid to rest. In a video that has gone viral, Game can be seen giving 40 Glocc a beating, an incident that later landed the Compton rapper in some trouble. Glocc later sued Game for $4.54 million in 2013, citing a variety damages including PTSD:
$500,000 for pain and suffering
$500,000 for emotional distress
$2 million in punitive damages
$25,000 in medical expenses
$750,000 for lost earnings
According to Glocc, he was awarded a settlement $196,335.15 but Game has yet to pay up. There were reported accusations that Game was purposefully avoiding making the payment to Glocc, and now The Blaststates that the pair may be closer to putting this all behind them. According to the outlet, Glocc told a court on Friday that he and Game’s lawyers are currently in settlement talks. They did have a scheduled court date today, but it’s been pushed back until August so they can have time to work things out privately.
The animosity between these two has been something that’s been played out for the public for years. They’ve traded insults on social media, but hopefully, the beef can be a thing the past.
Giannis Antetokounmpo’s first Nike signature sneaker, the Nike Zoom Freak 1, is set to make its debut at retailers globally this Saturday, June 29 for the retail price $120.
The debut colorway, dubbed “All Bros” aka “Antetokounbros” features a vibrant orange upper celebrating Giannis’ inseparable bond between his family and teammates.
Nike Zoom Freak 1/J23app
Highlighted by a bright orange textile upper, the eye-catching Nike Air Zoom Freak 1 features a gradient midsole with varying shades blue, a speckle detailing on the black Nike swoosh and Giannis’ “34” logo on the heel that is a play on the Greek flag. According to Nike, the kicks also come equipped with a double-stacked heel Zoom Air unit for responsive cushioning.
The Houston Rockets have their sights set on free agent Jimmy Butler, but they’ll need to pull f some trades if they want to land the All Star shooting guard. Houston doesn’t have nearly enough cap space to fer Butler the max contract he could receive from the Philadelphia 76ers or any other team, soe the Rockets are reportedly targeting a sign-and-trade with the Sixers.
As a result, Houston is looking to trade Clint Capela, Eric Gordon and PJ Tucker with the hopes acquiring enough future draft picks to flip to Philadelphia as part a Butler sign-and-trade. With that in mind, The New York Times’ Marc Stein reports that the Rockets have already found a trade partner for Capela. However, they do not intend to make the deal unless they are sure they can land Butler.
Capela, 25, will be entering his sixth season in the NBA, coming f a year where he averaged career highs with 16.6 points and 12.7 rebounds per game.
ESPN’s Tim MacMahon reports that a Rockets player recently told him, “I hope they don’t panic. I hope they don’t make drastic moves. We are right there. We’ve just got to figure out some things, fine tune some things, but we are right there. We don’t need to change much. It’s not the time to f—ing panic.”
Houston finished with a 53-29 record this past season, good enough for third in the Western Conference. As their roster stands now, the team is considered to be a favorite in the West heading into the 2019-20 season.
Unlike D’Angelo Russell and Marcus Smart, Giannis got to show f his talents against a group adults and he promptly embarrassed them. Even NBA players can’t guard the Greek Freak so it’s cute that these mere mortals thought they were capable anything other than being turned into an advertisement for ankle braces.
Everyone in attendance at the camp appeared to be wearing Giannis’ new shoes and apparel line which is good because it means the embarrassment came with a bit consolation prize.
At just 24 years old, Giannis is already one the most exciting players in the league and has an opportunity to become the best in the sport over the next few years. If Antetokounmpo can lead the Milwaukee Bucks to a championship, he will instantly become a legend the game.
Beforehand, I sat silently as the athletes discussed their various injuries and how those fancy headspins we all love can potentially result in whiplash, joint and muscle pain and even the possibility of shifting a body part out of alignment.
It was then I was reminded that this entire movement was a faction of the so-called real Hip Hop era. They were putting on for the culture at all costs and bring us a damn good experience in the process.
Believe it or not, the surrounding calm of Hawaii’s light breeze, gentle sun and abundance in good eats only went so far in settling the nerves … or edge I should say. The Honolulu Edition of RBDYS including a healthy succession of vets: Joe Stylez from Las Vegas, Nastyray from San Francisco, Do-Knock from Las Vegas and Hazmat, Headache HiJack, and Soul all representing their home court of Hawaii.
From the onset, the gloves were proverbially off, even though their smiles were apparent in the dance arena (making for top-notch showmanship). Hoards of fans and yes, real Hip Hop supporters packed the Kaka’ako Warehouse Event Space, each clutching on to red and blue voting cards as each dance battle was decided on a majority rules basis.
Given the heavy amount of talent and professionalism, I can honestly say that no sole battle was a unanimous decision. Joe Stylez bested fierce challenges from the likes of Toshi and Soul but ultimately lost to HiJack. Likewise for Sheopatra, who recently elevated her visibility by body jamming during Kanye West’s recent Sunday Service phase. Her precise pop-locking also got her to the semifinals over impressive showings from J. Boogie and EQ yet she ultimately lost to Hazmat’s aerobatics.
Which delighted the Hawaiian crowd to no end. There were no losers here; only winners and the ultimate winner. Hell, there were bonuses — shout out to the traditional fire dancers!
In the end, there were two and Hazmat and Hijack literally put it all on the line, and even flexed uncanny skills by going off on the guitar riffs of Metallica’s “Enter Sandman,” opposed to the more traditional b-boy go-to tracks that were played such as House of Pain’s “Jump Around” or Zapp & Roger’s “Doo Wa Ditty (Blow That Thing).” (The DJ was aiming for a video game final boss level setting with that selection!)
After a nearly five-minute vote, it was decided that Jack “HiJack” Rabanal was the victor for the RBDYS: Hawaii as the competition prepares for Washington, D.C. come July 20.
“Winning in my hometown definitely felt much different than winning abroad because of the support from family friends and community,” HiJack tells HipHopDX. “Ain’t no pride like Hawaii Pride!”
Despite making it look effortless, going all out in four dance battles will take the toll on the body and the war wounds were apparent.
“Wear and tear for me after the match was a sprained wrist, and a pulled back and glute muscle, but the pride that we kept the win here in the islands where it belonged,” an unapologetic HiJack continued. “And I appreciate that the crowd was involved for this event. Personally, for me, I enjoy when the crowd can get involved because it creates a vibe for the room, people want to be there when they feel involved and important.”

Law & Order: SVU fans have been watching Ice-T portray Detective Fin Tutuola for so long that many either have forgotten or don’t even know that he was once one the most prolific gangster rappers in the game. The 61-year-old entertainer can still rock the stage with a performance “Colors” any day, but he recently told theNew York Post that he’s enjoying fatherhood over his hip hop career.
For fans who aren’t familiar with the Ice-T as an artist, they’ll get a new taste his rap skills on his track “Feds in My Rearview,” a song reportedly included on “The Foundation” compilation with Kool Keith, Tash, and Smoothe Da Hustla. “Well, Ice-T has to be Ice-T,” he said. “Fin on ‘Law & Order’ has to be Fin. That’s a character I play. I can play a cop, but I can’t rap from a cop’s perspective. I can, however, rap from the criminal’s perspective.”
Speaking some less than legal activities, the rapper also shared his craziest moment on tour. “The wildest was when I knocked a dude out onstage in Kansas City, Mo. N.W.A. was on the sideline and I was headlining,” he said. “I used to have this intro where I would get ready to do ‘6 In The Mornin.’ So every time I would pause for the next line some dude in the front row would yell, ‘I want to f * ck that b *tch on the album!’ He was talking about my girlfriend at the time, Darlene (who appeared on the cover Ice-T’s classic 1988 album Power). So I told him to come up on the stage. The second he hit the stage I just knocked this motherf*c ker out. People thought it was staged laughs].”

He may not be knocking random fans out during his live performances anymore, but the rapper’s social media clapback claws are finely sharpened. “Laughs] One dude said to me, ‘You ain’t going to pull up on nobody.’ And I said, ‘Why pull up when I can have you brought to me in a trunk.’ People don’t know that I’m seasoned with this because clap-backing is like battle rapping.”
23 year-old actor, Zach Barack – who is set to portray an as-yet-unnamed friend, and classmate, Peter Parker in the new Spiderman: Far From Home movie – spoke candidly about how “incredibly meaningful” it is to be the first openly transgender actor to star in a Marvel film. In an interview with Variety on Wednesday, Barack gushed about his role, claiming there’s “something very inherently trans” about superhero stories.
“I’m kind losing my mind a little bit,” Zach admitted, speaking about their decision to cast him. “But I’m acting like I’m not. I don’t know that it fully has sunk in]…I don’t quite have the capacity to explain how meaningful it is to me.” Zach goes on to call comics an “important” part his childhood, explaining that he felt “there’s something very inherently trans about those stories,” referring to how a superhero characters ten have to balance their life as a teenager with their secret self at the same time.
Referencing Parker’s own struggle with this notion in the previous Spiderman movie, Spider-Man: Homecoming, the actor admitted that he’s also felt that same struggle “on a daily basis sometimes.” Zach continued to elaborate on the comparability the two notions, saying: ‘Especially being a transmasculine person because sometimes there’s a pressure to be a different way than I feel naturally inclined to do because I want to fit in, and I have to actively fight that instinct.” He concludes with a statement his gratitude, saying that he hopes it will speak to others as well, “but the fact the matter is, being in this movie is so beyond incredibly meaningful and I hope that it means something to other people.”

Ariana Grande looked stunning on her birthday which was yesterday, June 26th. The starlet posed for the gram’ with an all-black look a tiny dress which revealed her legs and small frame. Moreover, she sported some bunny ears which completed her signature ponytail look. The songstress also wore black silk gloves which were studded with some bling and a small purse. The look reflected a very playboy-type style and we can only imagine what her party’s theme was. Nevertheless, she looked beautiful and ready to party. The singer turned 26 years old.
The photo was accompanied by the following caption: “another year around the sun n she still wearing these fuckin ears. grateful for the love and for the people i get to share this life with. and thank u for the birthday wishes. 🙂 p.s. i changed into an xxxl hoodie minutes after this was taken, don’t worry.” The comments were flooded by birthday wishes from fans and celebrities all sorts. Later on, Ariana Grande shared some photos with her family and clothes friends at what appeared to be her birthday party. She was dressed a bit differently than in the photos above, but it looked like she had a good time. Happy birthday, Ariana Grande!
One the hardest things we’ve had to process this year is the death Nipsey Hussle. The Los Angeles-based rapper was doing some great things for his community when he was suddenly taken away from his family, his fans, and his neighbours. Neighbourhood Nip was a nickname handed down to the artist because his involvement in developing the Crenshaw area his city. He passed away months ago but we’re still learning about what exactly happened every day. This week, a new update was revealed with one witness, the woman who drove Nipsey’s suspected killer away from the crime scene, speaking out about what went down.
Court documents were retrieved by TMZ, who detailed the remarks that were given by Eric Holder’s getaway driver. In case you haven’t been following the case, Holder has been accused shooting and killing Nipsey Hussle in his store’s parking lot. The woman who drove him away after the crime, who has simply been identified as Witness 1, says that a gun was pulled out after there were accusations Holder being a “snitch.”

Holder and Witness 1 had driven to The Marathon Clothing strip mall to get some food when they saw Nipsey Hussle in the parking lot. Witness 1 was reportedly “excited” to meet the rapper. Holder reportedly walked into a burger joint to get food before approaching Nipsey and beginning to argue with the artist. He apparently spoke to Hussle and his crew for several minutes while Witness 1 waited nearby to take a selfie with Nip. Witness 1 overheard part the conversation where Holder asked Hussle if he had ever snitched before accusations were thrown the other way.
Eric Holder had reportedly asked Witness 1 to drive around the block to do a shooting when she refused. At that point, Holder went back to the restaurant, walked to the car, grabbed a handgun and fired the fatal shots. Witness 1 has not been charged in connection to the shooting.
As always, rest in peace to Nipsey Hussle The Great. He deserved to live a longer life and it’s truly sad to see him gone.
Last month, and in a major blow to DistroKid’s reputation, an uploader managed to leak an unreleased Playboi Carti song.
Titled ‘Kid Cudi,’ the song No. 1 on Spotify’s Viral Top 50 with over 2.3 million streams.
That was all thanks to a high school sophomore.
Speaking about the incident, the high schooler, known only as Kambo, explained how he obtained the song.
“I first made my Spotify account to post songs that aren’t already on Spotify. Before the song came out there was a snippet on YouTube, and it sounded like it would be a hit if it was released. A couple weeks later, the song got leaked and I posted it to my channel not thinking about how big it would get. I posted it on the Playboi Carti reddit to help the fans find the song.”
Kambo uploaded the song on DistroKid, dropping it on Spotify. To save face, the digital distributor with a content recognition company to prevent further incidents.
Now, a month later, Playboi Carti continues to suffer from more high-profile leaks.
Leaking previously dropped tracks.
For a brief moment, five tracks uploaded on Apple Music appeared on Carti’s official channel.
‘Butterfly Pill,’ ‘T S—t,’ ‘A and L,’ ‘Hulk,’ and ‘Shortie N Luv’ were uploaded on the rapper’s channel by a user called DJ EightBit. They then appeared on the rapper’s official channel for several hours.
The songs have previously surfaced under different names. These include ‘Molly,’ ‘Toke S—t,’ ‘Arm and Leg,’ ‘Green and Purple,’ and ‘Shawty in Love.’
In a now-deleted Story on Instagram, and begging leakers to “leave me alone,” Carti lamented,
The leaks come ahead of the official release of his upcoming album, Whole Lotta Red.
Out of the five ‘leaked’ songs, only one has enjoyed an official release. As stated earlier, ‘Hulk’ dropped in 2017 as Travis Scott and Playboi Carti’s ‘Green and Purple.’ ‘Shortie N Luv’ first leaked in February 2018. ‘Arm and Leg’ appeared on Carti’s Instagram Live broadcast in 2018. ‘T S—t’ leaked in October 2018. The rapper gave a preview of ‘Butterfly Pill’ at a performance in Seattle last year.
It’s only been a few days since the whole Tristan Thompson X Khloe Kardashian X Jordyn Woods scandal has been reopened, with Sunday night’s airing the first the dramatic 2-part finale KUWTK – whereby Khloe first finds out about the betrayal. And now, Tristan Thompson takes to Instagram to wish his ex and baby-mama, Khloe, a happy birthday; penning a sweet message to his former boo as a caption below the adorable photo her and baby True. “Happy birthday @khloekardashian,” the NBA star writes. “You are the most beautiful human I have ever met inside and out. Thank you for being an amazing mommy to our princess True. She is blessed to have someone like you to look up to. I wish you nothing but more success and sending you positive blessing your way. Enjoy your day Koko ❤️”
Well, the sentiment is definitely there – if not, overstated just a liiittle bit. But, regardless, it’s good to see the two on (seemingly) amicable terms, especially after Khloe only recently revealed that Tristan allegedly threatened to kill himself if she didn’t forgive him after finding out about his infidelities. It’s no surprise that Tristan still has an insane amount love towards Koko though, as the episode in which his suicide threat was aired, sees a heartbroken Khloe still trying to make sure Tristan didn’t do anything to hurt himself – even sending over one his friends to check in on him. A move Scott Disick said “just goes to show that Khloe is an unbelievable person that loves so hard and so much.”
Mustard (formerly known as DJ Mustard) has been known as one the top hip-hop producers in the world for a long time. He constantly comes up with innovative ideas for West Coast bops, collaborating with his 10 Summers crew to drop absolute smashes. For the last month, Mustard has been teasing his next album, dropping “Pure Water” with the Migos and his new cut with YG, Tyga, A$AP Ferg and A$AP Rocky. We knew the tracklisting for Perfect Ten was on the way and alas, it has been unveiled today.
Aaron J. Thornton/Getty s
Thankfully, Mustard’s new album has not been loaded with tons filler. These days, artists and producers have been packing their albums with so much content that it’s difficult to know where to start. Mustard took things back to the “quality over quantity” approach though, including ten songs on the album and keeping his theme consistent. As he always does, Mustard will be putting on for a relatively unknown artist by adding 1TakeJay to the introductory cut on Perfect Ten, starting f the joint with him. Other stars, like A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Future, Young Thug, Gunna, Meek Mill, Playboi Carti and others have also all been confirmed. Of course, his protege Ella Mai is also featured on the body work.
It looks like tomorrow will finally be the day where we receive new posthumous music from Nipsey Hussle too. The late Los Angeles legend will be featured on the final song “Perfect Ten,” closing out the project and leaving things on a bittersweet note. Check out the full tracklist below and let us know which one you’re most looking forward to.
