Off the bat, Ski takes a moment to look back on his friend XXXTentacion, who was murdered last summer. “A lot Been Going On In My Life Especially With Losing My Brother Jahseh,” he begins. He proceeds to lay out the groundwork for his new philosophy, which finds him looking toward his community and those who deal in positive vibe. “Plan On Making Wiser Decisions Taking Care Of Who Matters To Me And Who Should Matter , I Plan On Going Back Helping My Community And Ready To Die For It And My Family , There Still Genuine Souls In This World I Plan On Blessing The World With Positive Energy.”
While it’s likely been a bittersweet year, allow us to take a moment to wish a heartfelt Happy Birthday to Ski Mask The Slump God! May the next year be filled with new music and creative fulfillment.
The Fast and Furious spin-f Hobbs & Shaw hits theaters August 2nd and so far we’ve received one trailer and a few behind scenes looks at what ‘s to expect. Today, however, the latest trailer has arrived and we get to see Idris Elba make his ”Black Superman” debut, as he pulls out his weapons to fight Hobbs and Shaw.
Idris’ character is a genetically enhanced soldier who has an army to aid him in his battles, making the second trailer filled with even more intense action scenes that’s set to come.
“It was a really cool film to make, working with Dwayne and Jason, who make high-octane films quite a bit, way more than me,” Idris previously said when discussing his role in the movie.
“It was great to watch them work and learn from them. David Leitch, the director, was a complete draw for me; I love him and I think he’s a fantastic director. I was given free reign to make a character that hopefully sits in the zeitgeist the Fast world, but just feels a little bit elevated. My character borders on the lines scientific and I think that is quite an exciting area for the Fast franchise to go. This guy is a mean motherf—er, and I had a lot fun playing him.”
New legal documents obtained by Complex indicate that another defendant in the overarching Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods/6ix9ine trial has been given his marching orders. Fuguan “Fubanger” Lovick, one six remaining peons, is being labeled a dangerous “shooter” by the prosecutors looking over the case. As you’ve likely heard, 5 the Tr3way constituents have already pleaded guilty, including Tekashi 6ix9ine.

“In addition to the surveillance video, which shows the defendant discharging a firearm inside the Barclays Center, cooperating witnesses will testify about the defendant’s role in Nine Trey, in particular as a shooter for the gang who almost always carried a firearm,” the document reads, elucidating Lovick’s appearance at scene a noted crime (crucial to the proceedings).
Aside from his alleged gang ties, Fuguan “Fubanger” Lovick is part a hip-hop group called Hop Out Boyz, along with co-defendant Jamel “Mel Murda” Jones, who if you’re keeping count, pleaded guilty in unison with Faheem “Crippy” Walter, another reputed Nine Trey member claiming blood. The documents make a noteworthy exception to Lovick, on account his association to several noted informants, as listed in the principal letter. The judge presiding over the case is set to make a decision over Fuguan “Fubanger” Lovick’s motion at the earliest possible time. The remainder the defendants will present themselves in court on April 30 for a hearing that’ll likely decide their longterm fate.
Wendy Williamsficially filed for divorce from her cheating husband last week and since then, Kevin Hunter has been fired from his executive producer title on Wendy’s talk show and was given 48 hours to vacate from their shared home. On top it all, the Ferrari Kevin purchased for his mistress was repossessed, since it was reportedly paid for with Wendy’s money.
Wendy was recently spotted on the streets New York and when the paparazzi told her how happy they are for her, she responded: “I’m happy for me too!” The photog championed Wendy’s decision to cut ties with Kevin, detailing how she should “never let no man punk you.”
“I know, never that!” Wendy said – watch the video here.
Gilbert Carrasquillo/GC s
Earlier in the week, Wendy opened up to her studio audience about her personal happenings explaining how she’s ready for her new life.
“I’m moving out the sober house in just a few days, you know. It’ll be Wendy on her own. You know I’ve been dealing with issues with addiction and alcoholism and I have a whole new life that I plan for myself and my son,” she said. “Believe me you, when you lay in a room with no TV and four gray walls, all day, and no telephone at your all-ready and you lay there and you think about your life — this is my life at the sober house.”
DC-Rapper Wale gave us the ultimate cuteness overload by posting a photo his daughter, Zyla Moon. In the shared Instagram post, we see the adorable toddler smiling at the camera with a high-bun, colorful earrings and a pink tutu. The picture is accompanied by a text written by her father: “My heart forever flutter for you…my baby got her foams on to. EVERYTHING for Z.” How cute is that?!
It is not the first time the rapper publicly shows his deep affection for his daughter. In 2017, the emcee brought out his favourite girl on stage during a summer tour. Moreover, the rapper was placed under the public scrutiny after sharing a video where his daughter was seen showered with dollar bills on her birthday. In spite the upheaval, public judgement was dismissed once the “Lotus Flower” rapper clarified that the practice was Nigerian tradition. Indeed, it was later explained that the rapper was not “making it rain” on his daughter but “spraying” which is a celebratory practice common in Nigerian parties. The symbolic custom is meant to show love and encourage blessings. Clearly, Wale enjoys father duties and even moreso showing the world how much he loves his baby girl.
While the Golden State Warriors are heavy favorites against the Los Angeles Clippers, things haven’t exactly been easy. The Clippers defense has been frustrating players like Kevin Durant and the biggest part that equation has been Patrick Beverley. Beverley has been a pest to Durant and the two have been ejected in the past for their back and forth. Now, Durant is dismissing Beverley and says he won’t let him affect his game moving forward.
“I’m not gonna get in the way the game because I wanna have a little back-and-forth with Patrick Beverley,” Durant said according to ESPN. “I’m Kevin Durant. You know who I am. Y’all know who I am.”
Durant then went in-depth on the type defense the Clippers are playing and how it isn’t that good at all. Clearly, Durant is excited to put up big points in game 3.
“They’re playing a gimmick defense which has been working,” Durant said. “Top-locking everything on the perimeter, so guys are not even looking at the 3-point line, they’re just forcing guys inside the 3-point line. So for us, when I get the ball in my spots, I got a pest, Patrick Beverley, who is up underneath me — who I can definitely shoot over the top and score every time if it’s a one-on-one situation.”
The Warriors will have a chance to take a 2-1 lead in the series tonight at 10:30 P.M. EST.
Beyoncé’s adoration for the Obamas is real, and over the years she and Jay Z have come to call the former First Couple the United States friends. In the wake dropping her surprise Homecoming: The Live Album Coachella project this week, Beyoncé also penned a thankful letter to the former First Lady.
Michelle Obama has been featured as one Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People 2019—along with other notables including Chrissy Teign, Naomi Osaka, Khalid, Regina King, The Rock, Spike Lee, Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, LeBron James, Gayle King, and Tiger Woods—and to celebrate the accomplishment, Bey wrote these kind words about her good friend.

Loving Michelle Obama wasn’t much a choice. It was something that came naturally, because how she carried herself. Because she resembled us and was moving in spaces where, as black Americans, we weren’t exactly meant to be, she seemed so powerful.
When I first met her, I was embraced by a warm, regal, confident woman who possessed a reassuring calm, on the eve President Obama’s historic first Inauguration.
The way she looked, walked and spoke, in that warm but authoritative tone, we saw our mothers and sisters. She was strong and ambitious and spoke her mind without sacrificing honesty or empathy. That takes a lot courage and discipline.
She would’ve been impactful simply by being in the White House, the first African-American First Lady. But she also used her position power to improve the world around her. Her initiative Reach Higher, for example, encourages young people to complete their education past high school. She empowers all us to interrogate our fears and surpass greatness.
I’m honored to know such a brilliant black woman who’s spoken about the sacrifice it takes to balance her passions while remaining a supportive partner and mother, and now a best-selling author with Becoming. She has continued to open herself up, even if it meant being criticized. She has continued to be a portrait grace.
I am so grateful that my daughters and my son live in a world where Michelle Obama shines as a beacon hope who inspires all us to do better and to be better.
Some have complained that while the list shows diversity, there isn’t a hip hop or rap artist listed, even though these genres are seen as leading and shaping forces culturally, economically, and socially. Nope, not even Diddy or Jay Z.
Yonkers, NY – Killer Mike — he, as of late, of the Trigger Warning with Killer Mike fame — has been enjoying a resurgence in popularity thanks to his television work and his rather unique political stances.
And his popularity continues with his hosting duties on Martell Home Live, a unique new interactive television show broadcast live on YouTube every month, and sponsored by Maison Martell cognac.
The premiere episode featured a unique array of special guests from various walks of life in the entertainment industry and was broadcast live from a private castle in Yonkers, NY, which had previously hosted such other pop culture touchstones as the “Irreplaceable” video by Beyonce Knowles.
The New York press corps were bussed, en masse, from the Martell offices in New York City to the castle, where we were treated to various cocktails inspired by Martell (including a New Orleans-inspired Sazerac).
After the press was fully lubricated with Martell-inspired drinks, we were ushered into a room where Killer Mike explained the purposes of this event in the first place.
“We’re here for the innovators,” he said. “The music makers, the dream factory. The people who are unafraid to be unapologetically themselves.”
And that, too, was the focus of the premiere episode of the show, which will air a new episode approximately every month.
“Episode 01: Music, Dance & Entertainment,” was live streamed for audiences worldwide and featured special performances by Princess Nokia, Big Freedia with dancers Javier Ninja, Archie Burnett, Dejiavu Ferguson and Charli XCX – all artists who have made a statement in their creative fields, while unapologetically pushing the culture forward.
Javier Ninja, especially, delighted the crowd with his modern take on voguing. He told the crowd that his work was inspired by the late Willi Ninja — the so-called “Grandfather of Vogue,” who was single-handedly responsible for bringing vogue dancing into the mainstream, long before Madonna’s pop tribute was even conceived — to bring the dance into the 21st century.
Voguing, like many Hip Hop-based and break-dances, originated in black, poor and working-class communities as a method of expression, and according to OutHistory, the goal was, ultimately, to bond different people together. Throughout the evening, both Killer Mike and Javier Ninja beseeched the audience to “give it up” for Willi Ninja — a prompting that the audience gladly undertook.
Archie Burnett and Dejiavu Ferguson also delighted the crowd with their modern take on voguing, while Big Freedia reminded us all why the South explodes when bounce music — a New Orleans-style of Hip Hop sung over the triggerman beat — comes on the radio. As one of the originators of bounce music, Big Freedia got everybody up on the dance floor without hesitation.
In addition to the dance performances of vogue dance scene legends and the exclusive showcase of pop culture and new underground rap scene artists, the host of the night, Killer Mike, spoke with each performer as they shared stories about their humble beginnings, and how they’ve stayed true to themselves and their beliefs while on the path of leaving a lasting legacy.
On Wednesday (April 17), a report went out that Ty$ had split from his high-profile girlfriend, former Fifth Harmony member Lauren Jauregui, after being caught with another woman.
As social media sleuths attempt to deduce the identity of the alleged side chick, one name they clear from the list is KATIE’s. Her teams tells us that her relationship with the R&B superstar is “purely professional.”
It’s like Christmas for the BeyHive today. The audio from the film included poetry by Somali poet Warsan Shire and samples Malcolm X speeches. Both will be included in the audio release. The film was previously only available on TIDAL which she co-owns. The audio from the Lemonade film will arrive on streaming services on April 23rd.
Lemonade served as the first release The Carters’ trilogy which was followed by Jay-Z’s 4:44 and concluded with 2018’s Everything Is Love. Lemonade featured appearances from Kendrick Lamar, Jack White, The Weeknd, and James Blake. The album earned Beyonce a Grammy for Urban Contemporary Album and a nomination for Best Album which she lost to Adele.
Aside from her musical efforts, Beyonce recently announced her iconic partnership with Adidas where she’ll serve as a creative partner and also relaunch her own brand, Park Ivy.
Apple Music has expanded its ‘Music For You’ personalized recommendations, despite criticizing Spotify for the same thing.
Spotify CEO Daniel Ek believes that Spotify’s computer-generated playlists are a crucial differentiator in the industry. Up until recently, Apple has begged to differ.
Just recently, Apple CEO Tim Cook was all too happy to take a swipe at Spotify’s algorithms in an interview with Fast Company. On the topic of algorithmic curation, Cook stated that he worried ““
Now it appears Apple Music is overhauling its algorithmic-driven personalization to feature more general music themes. These themes are personalized for each Apple Music listener, much the same as Spotify’s ‘Made For You’ playlist feature.
Music recommendations for artists, albums, playlists, and even Beats 1 episodes are organized by themes. These themes include general topics like ‘To Make You Smile’ or ‘Starting Early.’ Listeners can influence these recommendations by using the love and dislike ratings on Apple Music.
The new ‘For You’ section in Apple Music will update multiple times a day.
The idea is to create a new destination to discover music by offering recommendations based on current listening tastes. Apple Music’s new ‘For You’ themes will appear in:
New Music Mix
While Tim Cook may focus on hand-picked playlists and human curation, Apple Music is increasingly relying on driven music recommendations.
That means the service isn’t so different from Spotify under the hood.
The new focus on personalization might be a concerted effort to make account sharing less appealing. A recent report found that with each other. Personalized recommendations might make account owners think twice about sharing passwords, lest their recommendations start being someone else’s music.
With the surprise release Beyonce‘s Coachella documentary Homecoming, fans worldwide have insured to tune into Netflix for an exclusive glimpse behind the iconic performance. The 37-year old performer extraordinaire truly laid bare here, sharing her true intentions and motivations behind the show. Surely, the documentary resulted in even more respect for the singer & songwriter because the woman works really hard. And the many intimate moments throughout the Netflix special, Bey took time to share the extreme measures she took to be in tip-top shape for her performance.
It is no secret that Beyonce gave birth to a set beautiful twins, Rumi and Sir Carter. Yet, she appeared at her Coachella slot looking like she never had any babies in the first place. The mother now three was snatched to the gods. Her first appearance in a Cleopatra-like accoutrement revealed curvaceous curves and thick and toned legs, leaving everyone in the audience shaking with admiration and envy. Well, Beyonce let everybody know the dramatic weight loss did come at a cost. In her documentary, the former Destiny’s Childs lead details her experience with the highly restrictive no sugar, carb or dairy vegan diet she took on. The singer states “In order for me to meet my goals, I’m limiting myself to no bread, no carbs, no sugar, no dairy, no meat, no fish, no alcohol… I’m hungry.” We don’t doubt that for any second, Bey! And as such, Queen B. swore to never push herself to such great lengths again.
The singer reports she began experiencing frightening muscle spasms during her demanding Coachella rehearsals. Surely, we can understand why Beyonce would overwork herself as the first black woman to ever headline Coachella. However, she now admits she can no longer afford to place her health on the back burner and emphasizes on accepting her mommy body as is: “It’s not like before when I could rehearse 15 hours straight. I have children. I have a husband. I have to take care my body.” As such, we can only respect Beyonce’s decision to focus on keeping healthy, especially for the babies. Don’t forget to check out Homecoming on Netflix.
Spotify has formally opened a new R&D center in the heart of Great Britain.
Nearly two years ago, Spotify revealed its plans to launch a new research and development hub. The R&D center would co-exist alongside its current operations in London.
Jason Richman, the streaming music giant’s Vice President of Product, explained,
“London has made the decision of where to grow our next R&D hub an extremely easy one.”
He added the city had a “vibrant” start-up community as well as a “great wealth” of tech talent.
“London will be one of our major hubs where we’ll house key investment areas, including expansion of our subscription-commerce capabilities.”
Hailing the announcement, Saliq Khan, the mayor of London, echoed Richman’s sentiments.
“Spotify is the latest in a long line of companies who realize that London simply cannot be beaten for innovation.
“We have a deep pool of tech talent and a complex business ecosystem that can’t be replicated anywhere else.”
Now, the streaming music giant has followed through on its promise.
A London expansion.
Opening up its R&D center, the company confirmed the new hub will create around 300 new jobs in the city.
Spotify also confirmed it would move its current staff into the Adelphi building on the Strand later this year. With the shift to the R&D center, the new building will house 550 employees, up from around 260.
Spotify currently has major hubs in Stockholm, New York, San Francisco, Boston, Stockholm, and Boston.
Speaking about the hub’s formal opening, Tom Connaughton, the company’s Managing Director in the UK, explained,
“As one of Spotify’s biggest markets, it makes perfect sense to expand our team here, and to tap into the large and diverse talent pool to be found in London.”
The company joins other tech companies which have recently beefed up their presence in the city. These include Google, Facebook, and Amazon.
Last year, Facebook confirmed it would double its current UK office space to house 6,000 employees. Google is currently building a new headquarters for around 4,500 employees.
Every once in a while, Halle Berry comes through to remind us all that she’s still at the top our lists. She may not be out here thirst-trapping on a regular basis but when she chooses to show f some skin, the 52-year-old makes an immediate impact. Last night, all the actress wanted to do was head to the kitchen to prepare herself a late-night snack. On her way there though, she figured that her look would make for peak Instagram engagement. Thus, the star came through with her latest trap, rocking a denim jacket with nothing underneath and leaving much to the imagination her fans.

Halle Berry uploaded a new image herself to social media, wearing a denim jacket and opting to go bare underneath. Pairing the look with some high-waisted black shorts, Halle was braless and instantly caught the attention her followers. She captioned the photo by saying that she was out to find a suitable bedtime snack when people began to remind her that if ever she’s in need a snack, she can just go look in the mirror.
“When I’m playing, I imagine myself as Sub-Zero on the court, ice cold and always ready to compete. This custom colorway the UA Anatomix Spawn brings my love for Mortal Kombat and Sub-Zero to life, and I’m excited to share it with players who also share my same gaming passion.”
The exclusive colorway is set to launch on April 26, just three days after Mortal Kombat 11 releases.
The UA Anatomix Spawn “MK11 Sub-Zero” colorway features a navy and blue upper – a nod to Sub-Zero’s armored vest – with frozen detailing throughout the upper, lace keeper and translucent icy sole. Mortal Kombat logo hits are on the shoe’s insole, tongue tab and aglets.
Additionally, the Under Armour logo was given a frost outline to pay tribute to Sub-Zero’s ability to deliver the most bone-chilling fatalities in an instant, the same way DSJ leaves opponents frozen as he takes flight for a thunderous dunk.
