Dwyane Wade Gifts Emmanuel Mudiay Signed Jersey After Swap Snub

Dwyane Wade played his final game in the NBA on Wednesday night which marks the end an era in the NBA. Throughout the year, Wade was on a farewell tour where he was subject to some huge standing ovations at arenas throughout the league. At the end each game, he would swap jerseys with a player on the opposing team. During Wade’s last game at Madison Square Garden, Knicks player Emmanuel Mudiay went up to Wade and asked if they could swap uniforms. Unfortunately, Wade had already chosen who he’d swap jerseys with. The clip the exchange went viral and the Twitter jokes ensued.

Wade clearly felt bad for Mudiay as he ended up making up for his snub. The NBA legend sent Mudiay a framed D-Wade Miami Heat jersey that was also signed. Mudiay took a video himself with the jersey thanking Wade for the gesture, as well as thanking him for everything he has done for the NBA.

Obviously, it would have been nice to have done the swap in the moment but Wade’s gesture shows just how much he cares about his fellow basketball players.

During Wade’s final game, he was cheered on by the Banana Boat crew LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, and Chris Paul.

Lil Nas X’s "Old Town Road" Debuts On Billboard Country Airplay Charts

Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” is currently the number one song in the country. “Old Town Road” has made waves over the past few weeks, largely due to Billboard’s controversial move to pull it from the country charts for not being country enough. The backlash is faced helped Lil Nas X gain international recognition and support, leading Billy Ray Cyrus to hop on the remix. After the success its remix, it looks like it’s been making a serious amount  spins on the country radio stations across America.

According to Billboard, “Old Town Road” has entered Billboard’s Country Airplay chart at #53 with 1 million in audience, 140 plays on 35 reporters. The publication points out that its entry onto the chart has everything to do with actual stats regarding its radio spins on country stations rather than how the song is classified as a genre.

“The song’s prile first swelled thanks in part to TikTok videos and other viral memes, while subsequent attention has centered on its removal after a week on Billboard‘s Hot Country Songs chart (dated March 16),” it reads. “Hot Country Songs, based on airplay, streaming and sales, requires Billboard to designate songs for inclusion based on genre fit; Country Airplay, however, as well as Rhythmic Songs and Pop Songs, purely reflects plays on reporting stations.”

Wale Spends His Idle Moments Raving About Chris Brown’s Teenage Debut

Wale took a moment out his busy schedule (oiiii) to speak on the understated impact Chris Brown‘s debut released in 2005. Not to be facetious or anything but Wale mentioned it himself: the DMV rapper has nothing but spare time to devote to such topics, sort like an abandoned case file getting scooped up by an out–work NPR correspondent, or a manic person who must at all costs, inscribe their manifesto on a cardboard sign.

Thankfully the earnest and talented Wale falls in between both those precarious positions. This is how he worded his praise Chris Brown’s debut in two-numbered shots. Breezy’s 2005 debut included the smash singles “Run It” and Yo (Excuse Me Miss) and fell just short reaching the number one spot on Billboard’s best-seller list.

Wale said it himself on Twitter hours ago, “Brown was a kid and made a classic.. that’s crazy ..he was just tryna buy bapes and Jordan’s and found some time to record in between .. and made a classic. Dass crazy,” whereupon it would be casual to forget that Brown was a mere child just over ten years ago.

For reasons only known to him, Wale talks about precocious nature, yet he chooses not to traverse the subject his youthful transgressions in the process building his case. How do you feel about Chris Brown’s debut record, hit us with your thoughts?

Diddy Shares That Lawyer Responsible For Kaepernick NFL Lawsuit Was Once His Intern

Not every Bad Boy intern turns to a career in music by choosing to become the next Diddy or Jay Z. One former intern is Ben Meiselas, a 33-year-old attorney who represented Colin Kaepernick and Eric Reid in their lawsuit against the NFL. Ben, along with his father Kenny Meiselas, were awarded at Variety‘s Power Of Law event at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Wednesday.

“Man, when I heard that Colin Kaepernick and Eric Reid were suing the NFL, I was like, good luck!” said Combs, addressing the audience. “I was like, ‘Whatever lawyer took this, they’ve got their hands full.’ And then I look and I’m like, ‘That’s my intern — what?’”

“It’s one the biggest wins in legal history, and especially the topic and the state America’s in,” Diddy continued. “To have that impact and to come up with a solution for something that was affecting America and really pulling us apart. Figuring out that solution is a testament to you Kenny, and also to Ben. I just wanna say I’m proud you.”

Diddy also revealed that because he’d lost his father at an early age, he always looked at Kenny as a father figure. “I have something I want to confess to Kenny right now,” Combs said. “I lost my father when I was 2, so whenever I would have some real serious problems that I would have to go to ask my father (about), like being in jail or getting somebody pregnant” — a trickle laughter emerged among the audience — “or wanting to know what I was gonna go through in my life and my future, I called my lawyer. I called Kenny. And he didn’t notice, but I was calling him ‘big brother’ — but in my head, he was dad.”

Reid was at the event and sang Ben’s praises for standing by them through the “take a knee” controversy. “I refused to be one those people who watches injustices and yet does nothing. I want to be someone my children and children’s children could be proud ,” Reid told the crowd. “When I was being blackballed…around that time, I learned from Colin that he had hired a young, brash attorney by the name Ben Meiselas who specialized in civil rights cases and fighting for the underdog across the country.”

“Ben not only represented myself and Colin, but he was there to counsel dozens other players in the NFL that were reaching out to us for advice, all while the NFL was trying to implement a new policy that would force us to stop our protests,” Reid continued. “We didn’t back down,” and “I still take a knee… He was there for Colin and I when our own union and our own teammates turned their back on us for fear repercussions.”

LL Cool J Scores Victory In Court In "Rock The Bells" Lawsuit

Before LL Cool J was known as “the guy from NCIS: Los Angeles the rapper was the force to be reckoned with in the rap game (and still is). If you’re old enough to remember, back in 1985 he released his classic track “Rock The Bells,” and as the years have rolled on, the title the song has been a phrase associated with the rapper. He even used it as the name his SiriusXM hip hop channel.

That’s why LL, real name James Todd Smith. felt it was necessary to take a promotions company called Guerilla Union, Inc. to court. Smith sued the company, stating that they not only attempted to trademark “Rock The Bells,” but they used the phrase as the name a hip hop festival that ran from 2004 to 2013. Smith went as far as to contact the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, petitioning them to cancel the company’s “Rock The Bells” trademarks. He finally scored a victory in 2017 when the Trademark Board agreed.

However, the company allegedly continued to use the trademark, so he took them to court and demanded an injunction be placed to stop them legally. The Blast reports that they’ve obtained documents that show a judge has issued a default judgment against the promoter for unspecified damages. The promoter must “immediately transfer all control social media accounts, website domains, and other intellectual property.” There is no word on whether or not they had to pay up, as well.

Trump Removes "Dark Knight Rising" Music From Campaign Video After Legal Threats

Donald Trump has likened himself to Batman in the past so it didn’t come as much a shock when he decided to use the score  Dark Knight Rising for his campaign video. However, it probably would’ve been a wise decision to clear it with Warner Bros. before posting it.

Trump was forced to remove his Dark Knight Rising-themed campaign video for the 2020 elections today after Warner Bros. threatened him with legal action. The campaign video included music taken from Dark Knight Rising which was composed by Hanz Zimmer’s as well as font taken from the film’s title cards.

“The use Warner Bros.’ score from ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ in the campaign video was unauthorized,” a Warner Brothers spokesperson said in a statement before the removal. “We are working through the appropriate legal channels to have it removed.”

Trump uses the film’s font while pushing for a 2020 victory. “First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they call you a racist. Donald J. Trump. Your vote. Proved them all wrong. Trump: The Great Victory. 2020,” it read across the screen.

The video also took aim at some his political opponents such as Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton as well as Hollywood stars who’ve been critical his presidency such as Amy Schumer and Rosie O’Donell.

HBO Appears To Pull "Leaving Neverland" Doc As Oprah Deletes Accusers’ YouTube Interviews

It appears HBO has planned to stop airing the Leaving Neverland documentary this month. According to HBO’s website, the only listing for the Michael Jackson-related series is April 17. There are no further dates listed after that even though the original end time was scheduled for September.

The integrity of Jackson’s accusers — James Safechuck and Wade Robson — was called into question earlier this month after a key component in Safechuck’s account of sexual abuse was proved to be impossible.

Safechuck claimed Jackson sexually assaulted him from 1988 to 1992. While both under oath and in the documentary interviews, he explained one particular incident happened at the Neverland train station, but the train station didn’t begin construction until 1993.

Oprah Winfrey also seems to be distancing herself from the documentary. All of her public tweets regarding Leaving Neverland have been removed and the interviews she conducted have disappeared from her YouTube channel.

The Jackson estate is also suing HBO over the airing of the documentary and Jackson’s nephews are reportedly raising money to create a counter documentary.

Both HBO and Oprah have yet to comment publicly.
