Ciara Channels Momma Shark While Milly Rocking To "Baby Shark" Remix

If you have kids your own or have young nieces and nephews, you’re probably more than likely aware the “Baby Shark.” You’ve probably heard it a few times which is enough to have the song drilled into your memory. It became a global phenomenon that took over pop culture this year. Travis Scott was even seen turning up in the club to “Baby Shark” which we can only assume Stormi put him onto.

Ciara‘s the latest celebrity to hop on the “Baby Shark” wave but she did it with her own twist. Here’s the thing, Ciara can essentially make anything look good at this point but the fact that she busted a whole move over “Baby Shark” is pretty impressive. Mind you, she hit the Milly Rock with a remix to “Baby Shark” which, even in a minute-long clip, is more tolerable than the original. Her kids are definitely to thank for putting her onto the song. Maybe the remix she was dancing to will be included in the new Nickelodeon TV series based on the song.

Aside from Ciara’s “Baby Shark” tribute, she recently celebrated her three-year anniversary with Russell Wilson earlier this month. Days later, Ciara revealed that she and Russell were hoping to expand their family in the near future. That probably means that “Baby Shark” will remain the backbone their child-friendly playlists.

The First "Rick & Morty" Season 4 Images Have Arrived

The beloved and thought-provoking brainchild madcap brothers Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, Rick & Morty has become an instant classic since its debut in 2013. With three seasons already in the books, Roiland and Harmon have been hard at work on the next installment, which is set to feature some the zaniest episodes thus far; case in point, behold this table full post-its, in which a glimpse at the creative process can be gleaned. Beware, some them include: Rick’s Day Care, Library Zoo, Jerry Gets Into Twitter Feud + Wins Now Someone Is Trying To Kill Him, Jerry Gets A Pinecone In His Butt, Bark-Nado, The People’s (Basketball) Court, and Morty Buys A Boat.

Recently, the first images from the upcoming season arrived, indicating what we might come to expect on this go-around. Which is to say, not much. A planet full hostile crocodiles, perhaps cousins “Crocubot” The Vindicators fame, and even more shockingly, a peaceful moment for Rick. Of course, said moment occurs on a serene yet oddly phallic planet, so expect the unexpected.

Look for more news on Rick And Morty’s fourth season during Comic-Con this weekend, where the series is scheduled for a panel. Are you excited for another dose the time-traveling duo? Season 4 kicks f this November.

Nail in the Coffin — Woodstock 50 Denied Desperately-Needed Permit for a Third Time

Last week, with barely over a month to go before the much-hyped event, the city of Vernon refused to approve a mass gathering permit to hold Woodstock 50.

According to , organizers have outright failed to meet safety requirements.  Vernon’s sheriff suggested delaying the event until 2020, thus defeating the purpose of holding Woodstock 50th.

Elaborating on the town’s decision, a code enforcement officer said festival organizers had filed an incomplete application.  They had also filed it very late.

With the event’s financial backer pulling the plug three months ago, Woodstock 50 has been desperate. The music festival then lost its original venue at Watkins Glen in New York.  Producers also backed out of the event.  Now, artists scheduled to perform may pull out from the gig.

In full panic mode, Woodstock 50 sent out the following Instagram post hoping to rally support for the failed event.

Will the Town of Vernon allow peace, love, and music to prevail so we can celebrate Woodstock 50 with you?  Upon permit approval, we’ll announce our ticket on sale.  Please share to show your support.

Of course, organizers have yet to answer key questions.  For example, how will the event ensure residents’ and festivalgoers’ security?  In addition, where will people park their vehicles in a small town of 5,408 people?  Finally, what will happen if concertgoers outnumber Vernon Downs’ maximum capacity of 35,000?

Now, with under a month to go, Woodstock 50 has just received the third – and possibly final – decision.

Time to start planning Woodstock 100.

Vernon officials have once again denied festival organizers a mass-gathering permit to hold the August 16th-18th event.

Shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the Vernon Planning Board rejected the festival’s appeal.

That’s not the only bad news for Woodstock 50.

Richard Branson’s company Virgin Produced, who has served as an advisor for the event, has also pulled its support for the event.

In a straightforward statement, the company explained,

Given that the attempt to secure permits with the Town of Vernon, NY and related state agencies has been finally denied, Virgin Produced has concluded its advisory mandate and terminated its services agreement.  Virgin Produced and its CEO Jason Felts wish Woodstock all the best in its future endeavors.

Signaling the end of the event, Felts added,

Despite our formidable effort to assist Michael Lang and the Woodstock 50 ownership in resurrecting their NY festival, it has become apparent that time has expired.

Spinning the fresh rejection – now the final nail in the coffin for the event – the festival’s embattled co-founder Lang and his team wrote they plan to appeal once again.

Woodstock 50 is disappointed that the Town of Vernon has passed up the opportunity to hold the historic 50th Anniversary Festival by denying our robust and thoughtful proposal.  We regret that those in Vernon who supported Woodstock have been deprived of the once-in-a-lifetime chance to be part of the rebirth of a cultural peace movement that changed the world in 1969 and is what the world needs now.  We want to thank the artists who stood by us [and] are grateful for the support of Vernon Downs and its generous owner Jeffrey Gural.

In short, Lang and his team still don’t understand what everyone else learned months ago.

Woodstock 50 is done.  Over.  Dead.  Farewell.  Goodbye.

Oh well.

Baker Mayfield Courted His Wife By Following & Unfollowing Her On IG

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield has had quite an eventful f-season, filled with major changes both on and f the field.

For one, the Browns went out and traded for star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., providing the 24-year old QB with yet another fensive weapon to go along with Jarvis Landry, Nick Chubb, David Njoku and, eventually, Kareem Hunt. Off the field, Mayfield tied the knot with fiancée Emily Wilkinson on July 6.

ESPN’s Mina Kimes published an in-depth story about Mayfield today, in which she touched on Wilkinson’s initial thoughts about the Heisman Trophy winner and how he eventually got her attention by repeatedly following and unfollowing her on instagram.

Kimes writes:

The quarterback and his fiancée, who is from Nebraska, were introduced in 2017 by a mutual friend. At the time, Wilkinson was living in Los Angeles. She says she was wary dating a “punk football player” and ignored Mayfield’s advances for months: He repeatedly followed and unfollowed her on Instagram, trying to attract her attention. Finally, in late December, they exchanged messages. He begged her to meet him before the Rose Bowl, his final college football game. She reluctantly agreed to grab lunch.

“I was assuming he’d be the typical playboy athlete,” says Wilkinson, who is four years older than Mayfield. Because the Rose Bowl was the next day, she thought they’d spend most their date talking about the game. But it barely came up. Instead, she says, Mayfield spent their entire first date peppering her with questions about herself, her family, her plans for the future. The next day, after Oklahoma lost, ending its season, the quarterback texted Wilkinson and told her he was staying in LA. Three days later, he moved in with her and her brothers. Six months later, Emily and Baker were engaged.

Mayfield and the Browns will kickf the 2019 season at home on Sunday, September 8 against the Tennessee Titans, followed by a Monday night showdown against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium.

Baker Mayfield Admits To Craving Revenge On Hue Jackson

Baker Mayfield is one the most exciting young players in the NFL and in just his rookie year, he was able to make the Cleveland Browns a playf contender, against all odds. The team finished the season with a record 7-8-1 and excelled once they parted ways with head coach Hue Jackson, who was seen as a bit a go when it came to coaching. Immediately after his dismissal, Jackson ended up joining the Cincinnati Bengals as an assistant coach. This didn’t sit well with Mayfield considering the Bengals are one their biggest rivals in the AFC North division.

In a new ESPN prile written by Mina Kimes, Baker admits to wanting revenge against his former coach. This manifested itself in a 35-20 victory against the Bengals late in the season, which also included a scathing stare down.

“I’m not gonna lie to you and say that the first time I played Hue did not feel good,” Mayfield explained. “It’s human nature to want to get revenge.”

After Jackson’s decision to go to Cincinnati, Mayfield called him “fake” which led to some criticism the QB. Regardless, Mayfield stands behind what he said and would do it all over again.

“I said what I meant,” Mayfield said. “Don’t stand up in front us the week before and try to tell us you’re doing everything for us, then go take a job with a team we play twice a year. It was one those honesty and respect things.”

Pras’s Lawyer Shares In Court That The Rapper "Has No Income"

Former Fugees rapper Pras has gotten himself into a few financial binds, and he’s hoping that his forthcoming Elon Musk album will allete some his stressors. During a hearing in family court, Pras’s lawyer, Judith White, pleaded with the judge to lower the rapper’s child support payments for his son, according to Page Six. Pras currently pays $4,800 a month to his ex, Angela Severiano, but White claims Pras no longer can afford the hit to his bank account.

”My client is aware that he has to reinvent himself… so that he is able to pay money for this child and he is doing everything in his ability to do that] such as attempting to release a new album called Elon Musk,” White said before adding, “He hit a very hard low and is attempting to bring himself up in the best way he knows, through his art. Right now he simply has no income.” According to Pras, he’s sustaining himself with help from family and friends, and he allegedly lives with his mother.

Meanwhile, Severiano’s lawyer is calling foul on White’s claims and wants the child support payments to stay as they are because Pras hasn’t given the court documentation that proves he has no revenue coming in or money saved in bank accounts. “We have no idea what his income is,” attorney Robert Wallack stated. “We have no idea what the sources his money are because he has not provided a sworn affidavit…How is he traveling? How did he fly to town for this appearance? How did he fly to Washington DC three times in the last two months? How is he supporting his lifestyle? He is releasing a new album.”

Freddie Gibbs Clarifies Jeezy Mention On "Crime Pays"

New York, NY – Midway into Freddie Gibbs and Madlib’s catchy Bandana single “Crime Pays,” there’s a perceived shot at Jeezy, who the celebrated lyricist dissed on his initial MadGibbs project Piñata five years ago.

On the tale end of the second verse, Gibbs raps, “And Roc, he done went and bought Jeezy a pair of new shoes, that nigga was dick-sucking.”

During his Breakfast Club interview on Tuesday (July 16), Gibbs revealed that wasn’t the case.

“It was a show in Chicago and [Jeezy] wanted some Timbs to go with his outfit,” Gibbs recalls, admitting he wasn’t there because his former boss SnowGlo didn’t want to pay for his stage time.

“But my homeboys were dick-ricking and they wanted to go to the show,” he continued. “I guess they standing there looking in awe at the nigga and [Jeezy] is like, ‘I need some shoes’ and he just used them to get some Timberlands and then they came back with the shoes, [Jeezy] was like, ‘These the wrong ones’ and just tossed them to his homeboy.’

When Gibbs’ friends hit him the next day to inquire about being down $200 and everyone got the icy shoulder.

“That was one of the straws that broke the camel’s back,” Gibbs stated before adding, “I ain’t got no problem with Young Jeezy. Not at all.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Gibbs was asked about his reaction to the perfect rating Bandana received by HipHopDX to which he cooly replied, “As they should.”

Watch the full Freddie Gibbs Breakfast Club interview where he also discusses Madlib’s unorthodox studio practices recording with Mos Def a.k.a. Yasiin Bey and how Tunji Balogon helped lift his blackballing throughout the industry.

#DXCLUSIVE: Grammy Award-Winning Trumpeter Keyon Harrold Talks New Nas Single: “It’s Fire To Me”

New York city, ny – There has been a lot of love (and hate) for the new Nas single, “Jarreau of Rap (Skatt Attack),” which serves as the first taste of his highly anticipated The Lost Tape 2.

Though many may have expected Nas to deliver a very specific type of track (considering the bar set by the previous Lost Tapes), Grammy Award-winning trumpeter Keyon Harrold notes that going against the grain is what makes the song so powerful.

“People are entitled to their opinions good and bad,” Harrold tells HipHopDX. Having played both trumpet and flugelhorn on the track, he explains the true brilliance was Nas’ foresight that people were ultimately expecting the old same thing.

“This record is innovation. It is a progression in artistic prowess. Everyone has heard Nas do the legendary joints, but nothing like ‘The Al Jarreau of Rap,’” he continues, specifically noting he was tapped by Nas about a month ago to contribute his talents. “I am honored to be a part of this groundbreaking record … Nas, chops of Al Jarreau, and my horn. It’s fire to me and I hope it opens people up musically.”

Harrold is no stranger to the Queensbridge legend, having been brought me in to the Mass Appeal family back in 2017 — dropping his album The Mugician on the imprint.

“Nas instinctively knew what I could bring to ‘Scatt Attack’ musically. He called me in to the studio and the rest is history,” he says.

Harrold’s career in jazz Hip Hop fusion began in 2000 After landing his first touring opportunity with Common — supporting the Chicago MC’s Like Water for Chocolate LP.

“As a jazz trumpeter, this changed my entire view of the trajectory of how I saw my career unfolding … I jumped out of the preverbal ‘jazz club’ wanting to be a part of something bigger musically,” he explains. “That experience made widened the scope of what I was listening to musically.”

As he dived deeper into the production side, he found himself blessed with the opportunities to work with some of the biggest names in Hip Hop — from JAY-Z, 50 Cent, Mobb Deep, and LL Cool J to Common, dead prez, Kanye West, and Mac Miller.

“It was beautiful to work on ‘Stay’ with Mac Miller,” he recalls of his experience with the late rapper. “He was a true talent and the epitome of a lab rat (he loved the recording studio) … a phenomenal musician/artist who was always searching, always working and creating visceral art. Rest in Power Mac.”

Though he may not have always imagined his career taking an unorthodox and ultimately powerful turn nearly two decades ago, he insists that he always knew he’d work among greats.

“When I first started, I had my mind set on being the best musician/artist that I could be with no limitations and no genre bias. Good music is good music period,” he states.

“I looked up to names like Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Miles Davis, Quincy Jones, and Marvin Gaye — but, at the same time I esteem the brilliance of JAY-Z, Biggie, Tupac, as well as producers like Timbaland, Dr. Dre, J Dilla, Pete Rock, and Rodney Jerkins. I believed that I had the same musical convictions and spirit … It was simply a matter of when it would happen.”

From the perspective of a true jazz musician, being billed on a song beside an icon like Al Jarreau is particularly exciting. “It is posthumous validation and it is modern day homage,” he says proudly. “I do not take it lightly. Shout out to Nas for having me on this one.”

Harrold is currently on a Summer tour, which wraps on August 9 at The Detroit Institute Of The Arts.

Freddie Gibbs Talks A$AP Rocky’s Imprisonment, Jeezy, & Dream Collaborations

Following the release AOTY contender Bandana and an exclusive interview with the fellow HNHH homie, Freddie Gibbs hit up The Breakfast Club to talk shop. It doesn’t take long before a parallel is drawn between himself and A$AP Rocky, who currently remains locked in a Swedish prison. “It’s bad,” says Freddie. “I don’t really know the ins and outs his situation so I can’t really speak on it, but I see it. That’s a different country.” Upon having the situation and context explained to him, Gibbs looks concerned. “I mean, I got accused something I totally did not do at all, f a dream. A woman’s statement in Europe is considered hard evidence. Guilty until proven innocent, so A$AP Rocky is guilty until proven innocent.”

Yee comes through with a hard question, asking Gibbs if he’d ever come to forgive his accuser. He shifts, slightly uncomfortable, before answering. “Yeah man, I can,” he says. “My mom told me when I came up out that situation, you can’t really dwell on that stuff or let that negative stuff affect you moving forward. Do I forgive her?” He gives an uncertain shudder. “I don’t have no grudge with her though.” At the end the day, Freddie simply wanted a return to his kids. “I definitely didn’t want to go back to Austria,” he explains, reflecting on any potential legal action. “No more courtrooms.” Still, he made sure to scratch Austria f his European tour list once and for all.

He also opens up about being blackballed, explaining that his beef with Jeezy led to many closed doors in the industry. As he tells it, things started to sour after Freddie Gibbs’ homies ended up on the tour bus, where they found themselves awestruck by Jeezy. With a show coming up, Jeezu asked Gibbs’ homies to go get him some Timberland boots, and they acquiesced. Upon returning with the boots, Jeezy said they were the wrong ones and gave them to one his entourage. The entire incident left Gibbs feeling soured, and he proceeded to call out Jeezy for “abusing his homeboys.” “I felt that was disrespectful to me, and that was one the straws that broke the camel’s back,” says Gibbs.

Gibbs also extends an invitation to 50 Cent, citing the G-Unit mogul as a dream collaboration. “I got a track for him if he want it,” teases Gibbs, before naming Jay-Z and Nas as additional picks. For much more from Gangsta Gibbs, be sure to check out the full interview below.
