Tamar Braxton Explains Why She Hasn’t Contacted Wendy Williams Since Public Turmoil

Wendy Williams is clearly dealing with a lot right now and it seems as though her current state controversy is proving who her real friends are. The talk show host and Tamar Braxton are friends, but according to the “Let Me Know” singer, she hasn’t contacted her “friend” since she was admitted into rehab along with other issues surrounding her husband’s alleged affair.

“I thought about it,” Tamar explained on Watch What Happens Live, when discussing whether or not she’s reached out to Wendy. “I haven’t reached out to her because sometimes people need their space when they’re really, really going through things.” According to Tamar, the conflict that Wendy is going through is why she hasn’t contacted her.

“Her whole life is in the public eye, and you don’t know what’s really the truth, and what’s not the truth, and so you just, kind , wait and let people come to you,” she added. “You might send a message like, ‘I’m here for you,’ but sometimes you don’t even want to hear that. You just, kind , got to go through it and then reach out to people.”

Billy Ray Cyrus Gives Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” A Classic Country Co-Sign

Billboard may have removed Lil Nas X‘s trap-infused western slap “Old Town Road” from the Hot Country Songs chart for not being “country” enough but that didn’t stop Billy Ray Cyrus, one of the genre’s biggest stars, from hopping on the remix.

The multi-platinum selling musician came to the up-and-coming artist’s defense after listening to the song just one time. Cyrus doesn’t agree with Billboard’s take that “Old Town Road” doesn’t contain enough elements of a traditional country song.

“It was so obvious to me after hearing the song just one time,” he tweeted. “I was thinking, what’s not country about it? What’s the rudimentary element of a country and western song? Then I thought, it’s honest, humble, and has an infectious hook, and a banjo. What the hell more do ya need?”

Cyrus’ addition to the song challenges Billboard’s decision to banish “Old Town Road” from the country charts. When he got together with Lil Nas X in the studio for the remix, the Grammy-nominated musician offered the 19-year-old artist some encouragement.

“You’re a light in this world,” Cyrus can be heard saying in an Instagram clip. “You’re gonna shine. People are gonna see you from all over the universe.”

The original “Old Town Road” gained massive popularity on the social media app TikTok at the top of 2019, and needless to say, people are loving the remix with Cyrus just as much. Though Twitter and Instagram are swarming with charming “Old Town Road” memes, there’s no telling if Billboard will ever double-back and allow for the song to return to country charts.

#DXCLUSIVE: AP Recruits Trev Rich For "Saturday" Video

HipHopDX Premiere – Denver-based rapper TheyCallMeAP — or AP for short — recently dropped off his new album WINS and now, the Park Hill force of nature is back with a video for “Saturday.” Throughout the track, AP details a raucous weekend in the Mile High City.

Armed with colorful balloons and enough swag to fill a swimming pool, the video simultaneously pays tribute to the classic ’90s film Friday starring Ice Cube and Chris Tucker. In this case, AP and fellow Denver rapper Trev Rich swap roles with the iconic duo.

AP held an exclusive release party last month at an undisclosed location. The price of a ticket ranged from $50 to $100. Why? It was his response to a music industry that fails to pay artists what they’re worth, streaming revenue amounts to less than a cent per listen and venues get paid before artists at concerts.

Despite the high ticket price, the show sold out, a testament to his loyal fanbase.

One of AP’s next shows is May 15 at Englewood, Colorado’s Gothic Theatre. Tickets range from $30-$35.

Purchase tickets AXS, watch the “Saturday” video above and cop WINS here.

Conor McGregor Teases WWE Debut Following Wrestlemania 35

When Wrestlemania 35 finally came to a close last night, after 7+ hours action at MetLife stadium, Becky Lynch was standing tall as the undisputed Women’s champion.

Lynch bested Raw Women’s champion Ronda Rousey and SmackDown Live Women’s champion Charlotte Flair in the historic “winner takes all” main event match.

Following the conclusion Wrestlemania 35, UFC star Conor McGregor took to social media to congratulate all three women and tease his own appearance in a WWE ring.

McGregor’s tweet reads:

“Congrats to Irelands Becky Lynch, the WWE’s first Champ Champ. Wow! What a match these ladies put on! Ronda Rousey is something special in that ring, as is Charlotte Flair the Flair dynasty! Stephanie McMahon you are right, I could not do what these athletes do. Or could I…”

This isn’t the first time that McGregor has flirted with the idea joining Vince McMahon’s promotion, and it seems that the interest is mutual. Stephanie McMahon recently told TMZ Sports that she’d love to have a huge personality like McGregor in the WWE.

Of course, the 30-year old fighter is still teasing a return to the UFC as well.

Despite his recent “retirement,” McGregor has been entrenched in an ugly social media feud with Khabib Nurmagomedov, and he is once again angling for a rematch with the undefeated Lightweight champion.

Kanye West Pays Tribute To Nipsey Hussle At Sunday Service

Kanye West has become the latest Nipsey Hussle‘s peers to pay tribute to the late rapper and a week after Nip was gunned down in Los Angeles, Ye used his Sunday Service platform as a means honoring Hussle’s memory when he used an audio snippet Hussle speaking words encouragement before his choir descended into an ethereal hymn.

“Just wanted to send some words encouragement,” Nipsey can be heard saying over the speaker. “Y’all stay focused, y’all keep working hard. Believe in y’all self. Prove everybody that doubt y’all wrong. Show up every day. Stay pure. Stay motivated. Stay smart. Show love to your people.”

Law enforcement has since declared that Hussle’s shooting death was the result a personal dispute when his killer walked up to him in front his Marathon Clothing store. Since then, the hip-hop community has been vocal about his Nipsey’s legacy and underscoring the mission to preserve it.

Most recently, Kodak Black caused a firestorm after making the remark that he would allow Lauren London a year grieving before shooting his shot. The comment sparked responses from the likes T.I and The Game and even prompted a ban at Los Angeles’ Power 106 radio station.

Nipsey Hussle’s memorial service will take place on Thursday, April 11th at Los Angeles’ Staples Center.

SHAZAM! Has A Respectable Take At Opening Weekend Box Office

DC hasn’t had a great time with their movie universe in the last few years. They did notch a few wins with movies such as Aquaman and Wonder Woman, but the universe has struggled massively. Fans have long stopped taking DC films too serious, but Warner Bros is looking to change that. The upcoming Joker film looks to be amazing, which is a good step in the right direction. DC seems to have another W with its latest film, SHAZAM! As reported by Deadline, DC’s latest movie brought in $56.7 million at the box fice on its opening weekend.

“We needed the movie to be its own best friend in terms creating interest,” Warner Bros. Pictures Group Chairman Toby Emmerich told Deadline. “We had a terrific brand ambassador in Zachary Levi, and putting him out there with the movie was one the best calling cards we had and was a big part our marketing strategy and we played that card in a big way,” he continued. “We always wanted the movie to play young, to be very inclusive younger audiences, for kids to really relate to movie.” $56.7 million may seem like a paltry number next to what Marvel is bringing in for their opening weekends, but it’s a good gain for DC after bombs like Justice League.

NBA Youngboy Is Officially Charged For Atlanta Drug Arrest: Report

As we reported, NBA Youngboy was arrested back in February in Atlanta for possession marijuana. His use “fighting words” and physical obstruction were also cited as reasons for the arrest. Prosecutors on the case were previously hoping that NBA YoungBoy’s probation would get revoked, and a Baton Rouge prosecutor wishes to see the judge serve him with a mandatory 10-year prison sentence. Although sentencing is still quite a ways away, it is now being reported that NBA Youngboy has been ficially charged for the Atlanta arrest.

According to TMZ, the up and coming rapper has ficially been charged with two misdemeanors: possession less than an ounce marijuana and disorderly conduct. Reports the arrest claim that Starr Thigpen, NBA Youngboy’s female companion, attacked a housekeeper after the two entered a room and found the worker attending to a bedroom that should have been empty. Police were called, and both NBA and Thigpen were arrested. NBA Youngboy is currently out on bond for allegedly beating his then-girlfriend in 2018, so this new charge may impact his other charges. Now wrapped up in two cases, NBA Youngboy seems to be barely keeping his head above the legal waters. As details his ongoing cases are slowly revealed, we will keep you up to date on the young rapper’s predicament.

Kodak Black Half-Apologizes To Lauren London: "Even Though I Didn’t Disrespect Her"

Kodak Black‘s lewd remarks towards Lauren London have landed him in hot water. The repercussions have already begun taking effect. Kodak’s peers are distancing themselves by decrying his actions on social media. LA’s Power 106 has effectively banned his music from the regular rotation, a decision they came to grips with on a collective basis.

Worse yet, Kodak’s blatant misogyny towards London, Young M.A., etc. might work against him in his rape trial, should the prosecution build a character assessment f these incidences, as I’m sure they will.

Kodak Black Half-Apologizes To Lauren London: "Even Though I Didn't Disrespect Her"

Johnny Nunez/Wire

Since initially posting his lewd commentary, and subsequently facing the wrath a clinical T.I., Kodak has apologized to Lauren London, by the same means that he usually delivers his glossolalia on Instagram Live. Sadly, Kodak Black administered an apology unbecoming  a grown man; the kind make-good promise a parental figure forces a bratty child to endure.

“If I disrespected you Lauren London in any shape or form, I am sorry… even though I didn’t,” Kodak haphazardly stated in response to the unending backlash he was and still is facing. It appears as though Kodak Bodak is completely unaware that is remarks were ill-conceived and poorly-timed, which takes us back to Young M.A.’s derision over his blatant misogyny and homophobia.

Noname Advises Lakeith Stanfield On Black Empowerment Vs. White Ownership

Noname shared a small number her secrets with actor-rapper Lakeith Stanfield, and by extension, the Document Journal was allowed to keep notation from behind a peephole. By now, you should know the names Noname and Lakeith Stanfield – the former scored the highest Metacritic score amidst all the documented albums 2018, becoming the first woman to do so in the process.

Lakeith, on the other hand, is a bit a creative juggernaut whose talent knows no bounds, be it music, film, television or whatever he puts his mind to. In any case, it wasn’t hard for the two creative types to find common ground in their conversation – especially when they spoke the misanthropy they developed after spending time in Los Angeles.

The most interest bit in the conversation centered around the politics behind Noname’s decision to remain an independent artist. After the Chicago-bred rapper insists upon the bility the “independent route” and how it adequately feeds her family and puts clothes on her back, Lakeith then asked her to elaborate on her decision. She replied, “I don’t want my music to be owned by white entities—that’s mainly why I’m independent. I just don’t think we need it,” – after which she stressed the importance  grassroots culture. The rest the conversation can be viewed right below the write-up.

Melii Links Up With Fenty & Raps For Their Bronzer Campaign

Rapper Melii’s social media rise and debut album phAses has landed her an ficial co-sign from Rihanna and now a partnership with Fenty. Last year, Rihanna uploaded a Snapchat video herself while Melii’s song “Icey” was playing in the background. It was a major nod for the up-and-coming artist who told Billboard last September that the news caused her to freak out.

“I was going through a breakdown at the time] and cut my hair f that same day,” she said. “When I went to the phone to check my texts, the right side my hair still wasn’t cut f! I went to check Rihanna’s Instagram] and saw her looking fire while my song is playing in the background. I still had the scissors in my hand, and I started crying. Then I started dancing. There were so many emotions at once!”

Since then, Melii has solidified a spot in Rihanna’s kingdom, landing a feature in a Fenty ad that she recently shared on Instagram. “So MELIIMOB I highkey got chosen to write a lil some some for @fentybeauty,” she wrote. “Badgyallll @badgalriri dropped her new bronzer ‘b***h u know that I’m gon cop’ 🤷🏽‍♀️‼️‼️super blessed ! And GRATEFUL ! BLESSING PON BLESSINGS.”

It’s good to see Melii with some good news considering she recently received backlash on social media after signing with Tory Lanez‘s One Umbrella. There wouldn’t be an issue with whomever Melii inked a deal with, but because Meek Mill was reportedly helping to guide her career for months with the hopes singing her to his team, he thought it was a “corny ass move.”

Melii explained her position in a statement. “My decision with going with Umbrella was based f] an fer that was already there from years ago n wanting to better my craft n where I felt i belonged,” she said.

Dwyane Wade On Dealing With Life After Basketball: "I’ll Be In Therapy. Seriously"

Dwyane Wade could be down to the final four games his 16-season NBA career, as the Miami Heat are currently on the outside looking in at the Eastern Conference Playf picture. The Heat (38-40) are sitting in ninth place, just percentage points by the Orlando Magic (39-40) for the eighth and final playf spot.

With that in mind, Wade recently sat down with ESPN’s Rachel Nichols to discuss his retirement tour thus far, and how he plans to deal with life after basketball.

“I’ll be in therapy. Seriously,” Wade said. “I meant it, it is going to be a big change. I told my wife, I said, ‘I need to do therapy, and we need to do a little bit.’

“I was always against someone that don’t know me telling me how to live my life or giving me instructions. But I need someone to talk to about it. Because it is a big change. Even though I got a long life to live, other great things I can accomplish and do, it’s not this. So it’s going to be different.”

Of his last go around some the most iconic arenas, where he has had some his most memorable games, Wade says he couldn’t have scripted it any better.

“It’s been surreal,” Wade said. “It’s like you — you have this vision , you know, how you want things to go, right, with everything in life. And when something, you know, surpasses that vision, it’s kinda like it’s an out–body experience.

“I couldn’t have written this book any better. This is a bestseller. And I couldn’t have written it, about my life.”

Up next for D-Wade and the Heat are road games Friday night in Minnesota and Sunday afternoon in Toronto, followed by Wade’s final home game on Tuesday night against Philly. Miami will wrap up the regular season on the road in Brooklyn on April 10.

Nipsey Hussle’s Family Planning For Massive Funeral

Los Angeles, CA – Nipsey Hussle had an obvious profound influence on his community, fans, and close friends so his family is in search of a venue that can seat anyone whose life he’s positively impacted to allow for them an opportunity to attend his funeral procession.

According to TMZ, venues that barely hold 2,000 aren’t cutting it. They’re looking to accommodate more than 15,000 people for Nip Hussle The Great’s memorial service.

Possible ideal locations include The Forum in Inglewood, California, the Hollywood Bowl or the Staples Center where Michael Jackson’s memorial took place.

The Grammy Award-nominated recording artist, born Ermias Asghedom, lost his life on Sunday (March 31) at age 33 in front of his Slauson Avenue Marathon Clothing store, located near Los Angeles’ Crenshaw district.

The thousands of mourners who showed up to the candlelight vigil held in front of his store on Monday (April 1) demonstrate a clear need for a large space. The vigil was suddenly disrupted however and caused the Los Angeles Police Department to step in and “restore order.”

Nip’s family is looking to secure a venue big enough within the next two weeks.

He is survived by his daughter Emani and son Kross, whom he shares with his longtime girlfriend Lauren London.

Nip’s alleged killer, Eric Holder, pled not guilty on Thursday (April 4) and is being held on a $7 million dollar bond. Holder is due back in court on May 10.

Tamera Mowry Says Beyonce’s A "Huge Fan" After Beyhive Backlash Over Jay-Z

Tamera Mowry’s been at the center some backlash from the dedicated Beyhive. Last month, she recounted the first time she crossed paths with Jay-Z, revealing she was charmed by the rapper’s charisma. As we’ve seen with  #WhoBitBeyonce, the Beyhive don’t play and they came for Mowry on social media, flooding her Instagram comments with bee emojis. “I think in the beginning, I was alo,” explained Mowry following the Beyhive’s attack. “All I did was ask for gum and thought he was pretty cool. That’s it.”

Beyonce hasn’t publicly commented about the debacle, nor has Jay-Z but they probably don’t see any issue with what Mowry said on The Real where she serves as a co-host. Mowry spoke to Entertainment Tonight at the 2019 NAACP Awards this past weekend where she said that she has nothing but love for Hov and Bey and that love is reciprocated.

“I’m a huge fan Beyonce! Beyonce is a huge fan  The Real, and yeah, that’s all it was. I never meant any harm!” she explained.

Mowry’s co-host on The Real, Loni Love, got f a few jokes afterward, joking that she’ll approach Hov for a piece gum, as well.

“Look, JAY-Z is here tonight to get the President’s Award. If I see him on the red carpet, I’m going to ask him for some gum!” she said.

OJ Simpson Murder Trial Prosecutor Chris Darden Is Eric Holder’s Defense Attorney

It’s been less than a week since 33-year-old Nipsey Hussle was murdered in Los Angeles and his alleged killer, 29-year-old Eric Holder, has pleaded not guilty to the crime. The aspiring rapper was in court earlier today as it was ficially announced that he’s facing one count possession a firearm by a felon, two counts attempted murder for the two survivors the shooting, and one count murder for the death Nipsey.

The attorney who will be representing Holder is a familiar face in high-prile court drama history. Christopher Darden became a household name in the 1990s when he worked as a prosecutor in the infamous OJ Simpson trial that was held in Los Angeles but streamed worldwide. In the courtroom today, Holder only made one brief comment as he agreed to delay his next court proceeding until May 10. He faces life in prison and his bail is set at $5 million. According to the L.A. Times, Darden was “privately retained for Holder.

Darden did his best to keep cameras out the courtroom and away from snapping photos his client, but that didn’t work out well for him. He claimed that there was an “issue identity,” but at this point Holder’s face is been distributed online so the judge didn’t agree. Reporters outside the courthouse tried getting questions answered regarding the handgun involved in the case and whether or not it has been located. However, that is still information that has not been released.

This isn’t the first time Holder has been arrested. Back in 2012, he spent 180 days in jail and was placed on three years probation following a conviction over carrying a firearm. The woman responsible for driving the getaway car has reportedly made claims that she had no idea that a shooting was going to occur when she gave Holder a ride. She has been cooperative with investigators and has not been arrested or charged, according to Josh Rubenstein, the Los Angeles Police Department’s Director Communications.
