50 Cent Clarifies Relationship With Chaz Williams: "Why My Name In This Shit"

This weekend, Chaz “Slim” Williams, a former associate 50 Cent passed away. While initial reports suggested that 50’s relationship with Williams spanned that an artist-manager situation, 50 has debunked the notion, speaking candidly about the status the two’s connection prior to Williams passing.

“Why my name in this shit,” 50 began in an Instagram caption. “I ain’t got nothing to do with Chaz dead or alive. 😒da fuck outta here.”

Fans would go on to engage 50 in conversation, giving the mogul the opportunity to reveal that Williams was never his manager, alluding to his role as an alleged traitor as illustrated in his “Many Men (Wish Death)” track, which specifically addresses the attack that left 50 wounded with nine gunshots.

The lyrics in questions can be found peppered throughout the comment section: “Slim switched sides on me, let niggas ride on me/I thought we was cool, why you want me to die, homie?”

The backstory explains that Williams was a known associate drug lord Kenneth “Supreme” McGriff who has been long connected to the infamous hit that 50 survived.

The aforementioned post is the only acknowledgment that 50 gave Slim’s passing and, as is true his character, he’ll likely let that be the only sentiments he reflects Williams’s death.

New Mother Sues Fertility Clinic After Giving Birth To Twins From 2 Different Families

It’s been a while since we heard any crazy stories happening involving fertility clinics, the last one we reported was the insane incident in 2016, whereby a fertility doctor in Marion County, Indiana named Donald Cline had secretly inseminated 50 his female patients with his own semen. Though we don’t hear them though, you can be sure that strange things sometimes end up going down in fertility clinics, but with a whole life being contained within a petri dish, it’s no surprise that sometimes mistakes can happen. The most recent said mistakes, was reported by CNN, and detailed a mother giving birth to twin boys, not only not related to her but also not related to one another.

According to the lawsuit report, the Asian mother gave birth to two non-Asian babies, and each child ended up being a genetic match to two different couples, that were also clients at the fertility clinic. If that wasn’t bad enough, upon the realization, the Asian couple was also forced to give up the babies to their biological parents. The couple, who remain unnamed, live in Flushing, New York, and have been married since 2012. After facing continuous issued when trying to conceiving a child, they decided to try to have a child through in vitro fertilization (IVF) with a clinic based out LA, called CHA Fertility, reportedly spending more than $100,000 for their services. In early 2018, the company collected sperm and eggs from the couple in early 2018, which they then formed into five euploid embryos – four which were female. This detail made it so that the couple instantly thought it strange when the sonogram revealed the babies’ genders as both boys. The baby twins were confirmed to be genetically linked to two different families after the mother gave birth, and they were subsequently taken away and returned to their families. The lawsuit was filed on July 1st, and claims that the plaintiffs have suffered “physical and emotional harm and accuse the defendants medical malpractice, negligence and 14 other counts,” meanwhile, the couple still doesn’t know what exactly happened to their two embryos that were supposed to be transferred to A.P.

Apple-Sized Hail Rains Down In Italy: Watch The Crazy Footage

Hail doesn’t happen too frequently but when it does — and especially when it happens like this — it’s worth taking note. Climate change has affected the world in so many different ways. It’s a serious issue that should be taken seriously. Unfortunately, our leaders tend to think that climate change isn’t the most pressing concern at the moment but if we do nothing to save the country, future generations may not even get a chance to experience life as we know it. One the most concerning videos to have hit the internet in a long time shows a hailstorm in Italy with orange-sized drops coming down.

Mother Nature is extremely cold-hearted and she doesn’t know when to hold f. The most recent instance that came when Pescara, Italy citizens took videos a scary hailstorm in their area. Italy has been struck with severe thunderstorms this summer and flooding in parts the country. As for the hail downpour, at least eighteen people have reported injuries according to the Washington Post

The hail reportedly shattered windows and with the high wind speeds, a beach fire ended up being spread around, causing even more destruction.

Can we all agree that climate change is a real thing now? Please.

Nicki Minaj Claps Back At Twitter User Who Tried Pitting Her Against Cardi B

Some fans just won’t let artists be great. Nicki Minaj‘s beef with Cardi B may have reached a pivotal point when things became physical at a New York Fashion Week event last year, but all has been quiet between the two top-selling rappers. Yet, because they aren’t taking subliminal shots at one another every other minute, their fans continue to pit the two women against each other.

Recently, Nicki shared a montage past clips herself paying homage to women rappers who helped pave the way in the entertainment industry. There has been a long-standing argument that Nicki doesn’t give respect to those who came before her, but her video proved that she repeated gave shout outs to artists like Lil Kim, Remy Ma, and Foxy Brown. She also highlighted current female artists on the rise and unsigned emcees.

Jermaine Dupri has recently ruffled a few feathers among female hip hop artists when he made a statement claiming that in the current state rap, the women all sound the same and are just strippers rapping. He’s received backlash and Cardi B came forward to call out both fans and blogs who don’t give female artists enough shine.

“Nicki would never,” a Cardi fan tweeted, insinuating that Nicki wouldn’t take the time to acknowledge her fellow talented women in the rap game. “I’m so here for Cardi supporting these women in the industry. Y’all love to act like the only female MCs are the ones taking f they clothes. There is a diversity artists out there. You just have to be willing to find them and then support them!”

Nicki made time to clap back and let the person know that they missed the memo. “Clown tingz,” she wrote. “Keep my d*ck out y’all mouth. 6 days ago NICKI started posting DIFF FEMALE RAPPERS ON HER PAGE. Btchs who write raps & respect an authentic come up. Yesterday y’all started this clown convo. Don’t fkn mention me. I’m the fkng GOAT. anybody who don’t know that 🖕🏽.”

Tommie Lee Shares Details About Altercation That Led To Child Abuse Charges

For months, Tommie Lee sat in jail on child abuse charges. The Love & Hip Hop Atlanta reality star has had run-ins with the law throughout her life, but these were some the most serious charges yet. Lee always defended her truth and said she never hurt her daughter, and for the first time, she’s publicly sharing what happened the day she reportedly went to her daughter’s school to discipline her.

According to Lee, she started to worry about her child after she got numerous reports from her daughter’s school that the young girl was getting into trouble. Lee told Hello Beautiful that her daughter even got ahold some marijuana edibles and gave them to her friends in school. In turn, one the students fell ill and their worried parents rushed them to the hospital.

“I’m scared as hell,” she said. “Nobody said anything for a while then I got a letter in the mail from the police that the state was charging my daughter.” Later, Lee received a call that her daughter was once again misbehaving. She recalled the one thing that made her stop doing wrong when she was in school, and it was when her mother went down to her campus and physically disciplined her in front her classmates.

“I took her hoodie and I jacked her up against the locker. I’m the last person who’s going to hurt my kids,” Lee said the altercation that occurred at her daughter’s school. “Everything in that report was untrue. Physical abuse is the last form punishment for children in my household. I can count the times I had to be physical with my children on my hand because I could take their phone or put them on punishment. We have a good relationship.”

Lee’s stint on LHHA has also earned her a reputation as being an unhinged alcoholic, something that she told us back in April wasn’t a fair assessment her character. She also let us know that she did struggle with alcohol, however, she wasn’t an alcoholic. Now, Lee is on the wagon and is receiving the help she needs. “I wouldn’t consider myself an alcoholic,” she shared with HB. “I’ve gone to rehab. I’ve been 4 months sober now.” We’re just looking forward to more music.

R. Kelly’s Arrest: All The Charges, Explained

R. Kelly‘s made headlines throughout the whole year. Dream Hampton’s award-winning Surviving R. Kelly brought up the age-old allegations sex crimes against minors. It wasn’t really shocking, per se, but over the years, he’s managed to escape any sort legal penalties for the alleged actions. But he saw his world crumbling in every sense after the docu-series came out. He was charged with 10 counts aggravated criminal sexual abuse based on accusations from four women. Three them were minors. He’s denied any wrongdoing.

Even without these allegations, Kelly’s 2008 child pornography trial where he was acquitted all charges continues to haunt him. Last night, he was arrested in Chicago on federal charges while walking his dog. Homeland Security from Chicago and New York, along with the NYPD, took him in before a federal grand jury indicted him on 13 counts. Among them are counts child pornography, obstruction justice, and luring minors for sexual activity. A Brooklyn grand jury also handed down a five-count indictment accusing Kells  kidnapping, racketeering, sexual exploitation a minor, forced labor, and sexual coercion. The allegations in Brooklyn stem from alleged incidents from 1999 to the present.

So here’s where it all stems from:

  • When R. Kelly was under investigation for the child pornography case in 2008, there was speculation that he paid f the girl and her family to keep quiet. The federal indictment is accusing Kelly doing just that. The indictment claims Kelly and his associates paid f the family with gifts and cash for over a decade. In exchange, they wouldn’t testify against him in court or co-operate with investigators. Some the payments were in the thousands while he also bought the girl a car and brought her on trips out the country.

  • Kelly’s also accused blackmailing, physically abusing and getting violent with the victim to keep her quiet. The indictment accuses him, as well as his business manager and another employee, trying to cover up the alleged crimes.
  • The indictment in Brooklyn accuses Kelly and his team picking girls and women out the crowd before having these women and girls come to visit him while he’s on tour. He’s accused setting strict rules for the girls to follow which included not being able to eat, go to the bathroom or leave their rooms without Kelly’s consent.

  • Child pornography allegations were brought back up in the Eastern District New York indictment. He’s accused engaging in sexual acts with girls under the age 18 without disclosing that he has sexually transmitted diseases.
  • Kelly was previously charged in the state Chicago earlier this year for sexual abuse.  With the new indictments, his case has become a multistate federal matter.
    • R. Kelly’s lawyer, Steve Greenberg, has since responded to the allegations. “The conduct alleged appears to largely be the same as the conduct previously alleged against Mr. Kelly in his current State indictment and his former State charges that he was acquitted . Most, if not all the conduct alleged, is decades old,” Greenberg wrote. “My Kelly was aware the investigation… He and his lawyers look forward to his day in court, to the truth coming out, and to his vindication from what has been an unprecedented assault by others for their own gain.”

Lil Pump Shows Off The Lavish Miama Mansion He Just Bought

Just a few weeks ago, outspoken artist, Russ, reignited his beef with Lil Pump, in an episode  Pull Up Season hosted by Joe Budden. And now, the 18 year-old Floridian rapper took to social media to show fans he was living his best, carefree life, showing f the flashy mansion he just bought. “Bitch! I just got a new crib, ya dig?” he starts f the short clip, before going on to preview his fancy chairs, huge sparkling silver flower base, and life-size poster his head (complete with a bedazzled pinky ring). “Welcome to Lil Pump‘s mansion,” he says before screaming. As he continues his little house tour he shows us his luxe looking living room, “I got two TVs, playing the same shit” he points out, and as he moves the party outside, he proudly shows f his pool saying, “I got a pool that I don’t even use.”

According to South Florida real-estate news site, The Real Deal, Pump purchased the Miami waterfront home for a whopping $4.6 million. The site goes on to detail that his new Miami Beach home is situated in a quiet neighborhood, which is mostly home to older houses. The luxurious property “features a rotop terrace on the third floor; a custom Italian kitchen, bathroom vanities and closets; and an Ipe wood pool deck and cabana.” Whew.

Chris Paul Rumors: Miami Heat Emerge As Trade Destination

Chris Paul might not be done changing addresses just yet.

On Thursday night, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported another blockbuster trade that sent OKC’s Russell Westbrook to the Houston Rockets in exchange for Chris Paul and multiple, future first round draft picks. According to Woj, the Rockets had tried to find a third team to take part in the trade that would be a better fit for Paul, but were unsuccessful.

With the Thunder in full rebuild mode, CP3 and his agent are now expected to meet with Thunder GM Sam Presti to explore the possibilities another deal. In fact, Wojnarowski notes that the Thunder have already discussed a potential trade with the Miami Heat.

“Presti already is working with Paul’s agents at CAA Sports — Leon Rose and Steven Heumann — to redirect the nine-time All-Star to a new team, league sources tell ESPN. The Heat are prominent in the conversations, but there are other possibilities also being explored, sources said. Presti and Rose worked together last year on a similar situation with Carmelo Anthony.”

Paul, 34, averaged 15.6 points, 8.2 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game last season. The nine-time All Star, who began his career in Oklahoma City, has three years, $124 million left on his contract.

Russell Westbrook & James Harden Were In Talks After Paul George Trade: Report

Despite reports around the league that Russell Westbrook might end up with the Miami Heat, it was revealed last night that the triple-double guru had been dealt to the Houston Rockets for Chris Paul and a plethora draft picks. The trade helps to reunite Westbrook with James Harden as the two played together on the Thunder between 2009-2012. The two have been able to remain good friends and it’s clear that they wanted to play together again. Considering the rumors tension between Harden and Paul, it’s not too much a surprise to see Paul on a brand new team.

According to Brian Windhorst ESPN, Westbrook and Harden started talking about the possibility linking up as soon as Paul George was dealt from OKC to the Los Angeles Clippers. Westbrook knew he would be in trouble on his own and wanted to go to a contending team.

“From what I understand, the night that the Paul George] trade went down, that Westbrook and Harden] got on the phone together and started working on it,” Windhorst explained.

Harden and Westbrook are both NBA MVP winners so Rockets fans will surely be excited to see both them on their team. Some analysts are worried about the team’ chemistry though considering how focused both players are on their stat sheets. Either way, the Rockets will surely be a story night in and night out.

Common & Vince Staples Team Up To Stop A Robbery In "Hercules" Video

Common is back on the corner dropping knowledge and bars in the video for “Hercules,” his collaborative single produced by and featured vocals from Swizz Beatz.

The song is the Academy Award-winning MC’s lead single from his upcoming 12th studio LP Let Love, which is slated for release on August 30. The album title is derived from his poignant autobiography Let Love Have The Last Word which was released in May.

In the Carrick Moore Gerety-directed video, it’s shot from the perspective of the store’s fictitious security camera in a local convenience store. Common’s one-time collaborator Vince Staples is the store’s cashier and he’s glaringly delighted at the site of a young female patron. Common then enters the store rapping on his cell phone while shopping. Two masked robbers suddenly enter the store, and Common finds a way to bring justice to the situation with Staples and the girl.

Common also premiered the song on Ebro Darden’s Apple Beats 1 Radio show on Thursday (July 11). During the interview, the Chicago-bred legend described his new album’s sound as a fusion of Marvin Gaye, DJ Premier and Radiohead, and addresses his past beef with Ice Cube.

Check the video above and listen to the interview below.

Ice Cube (Kinda) Explains Why Lamar Odom Was Sliced & Diced From BIG3

Los Angeles, CA – Ice Cube gave a clue as to why Lamar Odom was deactivated from the BIG3 basketball league when he talked to TMZ. The BIG3 founder said he simply wanted active players available to compete on the court.

“As a league, we want players that are actually playing,” he explained when asked about Odom. “So, if you ain’t playing, or you can’t play, or you have any health issues, [you’re deactivated].”

Cube did convey sympathy and compassion for the embattled ex-Laker though. When asked if he was concerned about Odom, the N.W.A member stated, “Always, I love the guy.”

The BIG3 marked Odom’s return to basketball following his troubled past. He played in one game as part of the Enemies team with Gilbert Arenas and Royce White.

The league was created to give former professional basketball players another chance to compete against each other on a televised stage. Along with Odom, other players recently deactivated by the BIG3 include Baron Davis, Jermaine O’Neal and Bonzi Wells.

Federal Judge Dismisses $100 Million Fyre Festival Lawsuit Against Ja Rule — With a Major Caveat

Shortly after the now-iconic collapse of Billy McFarland’s Fyre Festival, co-founder Ja Rule immediately denied responsibility.

Despite funding and heavily promoting the disastrous luxury music festival, the rapper – real name – filed a claim in court.  Legally speaking, the event’s failure wasn’t his fault.

Representing hundreds of millennial concertgoers in a massive $100 million lawsuit, celebrity lawyer Mark Geragos claimed that both Ja Rule and 25-year-old entrepreneur-turned-fraudster Billy McFarland knowingly “lured” festivalgoers into “a complete disaster, mass chaos, and a post-apocalyptic nightmare.”

Not mincing words, Geragos wrote,

The festival’s lack of adequate food, water, shelter, and medical care created a dangerous and panicked situation among attendees…that was closer to ‘The Hunger Games’ or ‘Lord of the Flies’ than Coachella.  Festivalgoers survived on bare rations, little more than bread and a slice of cheese, and tried to escape…in the only shelter provided…small clusters of ‘FEMA tents’…that were soaked and battered by wind and rain.

Atkins again refused to accept any liability, clearly contradicting a post he wrote on social media during the failed event.

The rapper wrote (emphasis mine),

We are working right now on getting everyone off the island SAFE.  That’s my immediate concert…I’m heartbroken at this moment.  My partners and I wanted this to be an amazing event.  It was NOT A SCAM as everyone is reporting…I truly apologize as this is NOT MY FAULT.  But I’m taking responsibility.  I’m deeply sorry to everyone who was inconvenienced by this.

Now, a federal judge has let Atkins off the hook.  For now, at least.

You can’t sue Ja Rule nor the Fyre Festival for the event’s disaster.  But, feel free to try again.

Despite rampant posts on social media and verified reports of the failed event – including two documentaries on Hulu and Netflix – U.S. District Judge P. Kevin Castel said concertgoers have failed to provide evidence to back up the class-action lawsuit against Atkins and Fyre Festival CMO, Grant Margolin.

The federal judge wrote,

The complaint states that defendants were aware for ‘months’ that there were no showers, electricity, bathrooms, medical services, or activities on the island.  This, without more, does not plausibly allege that defendants months before the event intended not to hire or contract for such services.

Judge Castel promptly dismissed with prejudice all claims against Ja Rule and Margolin.

According to the federal judge, the lawsuit doesn’t allege when both Atkins and Margolin claimed that the Fyre Festival would be “the cultural experience of the decade, featuring A-list entertainers … first-class culinary experiences, and a luxury atmosphere.”

There is no assertion that the festival when first conceived or introduced to the public was intended not to go forward or that defendants intended not to perform by organizing the advertised amenities and accommodation.

Yet, the federal judge didn’t dismiss one claim with prejudice.

The day before the event started, Ja Rule posted the following message on Twitter,

The stage is set!!!  In less than 24 hours, the first annual Fyre Festival begins.  #festivallife.

Judge Castel said concertgoers could’ve sued the rapper over the tweet, which counts as a statement.  Atkins made a legitimate – and thus, liable – promise attendees “could rely in making final preparations to arrive at the festival.”

Yet, possibly closing the doors to any future cases over Ja Rule’s tweet, the judge said the class-action lawsuit failed to show attendees actually believed the rapper’s proud declaration.

In a statement, the rapper’s attorney, Ryan Smith, praised the lawsuit’s dismissal.

Mr. Atkins is thankful for today’s ruling and for the court’s time and attention.  Justice was done today.

However, Judge Castel left a small door for a new lawsuit against Ja Rule.  He said concertgoers could file a new claim against the tweet – granted they have proof.

Plaintiffs may move to amend to set forth in a proposed pleading allegations of reasonable reliance and causation as to each plaintiff.

You can view the dismissal order below.

A$AP Ferg Dons Babushka In Solidarity With A$AP Rocky

As A$AP Rocky awaits an impending decision from a Swedish jail cell, A$AP Ferg is doing everything he can to mobilize a grassroots “Free Rocky” campaign. With a petition circulating in favor his release picking up steam (it’s currently sitting at over 500,000 signatures), even a New York congressman has thrown his weight behind the cause. Clearly, Flacko has become a people’s champ sorts, though many mainstream news outlets have largely turned a blind eye to his predicament. Still, Ferg’s support is endearing to behold, a testament to the A$AP Mob‘s strong connection.

Today, Ferg has opted to pay homage by way fashion, donning Rocky’s favorite piece attire in tribute. “Free the Babushka Boy,” writes Ferg, proudly rocking a headpiece his own, pulling f the look with conviction. Of course, Rocky previously earned the “Babushka Boy” moniker at the onset the year, when he teased an unreleased banger honoring the headscarf – one that we’re still eagerly awaiting to this day.

Respect to Ferg for standing up for a friend, and we can only hope that Rocky comes home soon. Free Flacko!

LeBron James’ Lakers Vs. Kawhi Leonard’s Clippers: Who’s Better?

When Free Agency began on June 30th at 6 P.M., fans around the league were wondering the answer to one question: where will Kawhi Leonard end up? It was a foregone conclusion that Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving would sign with the Brooklyn Nets so fans opted to set their sights on what would turn out to be a week’s worth speculation. It appeared as though the Los Angeles Lakers has the best chance at securing Leonard and creating a superteam with LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Instead, Kawhi linked up with Paul George and the Los Angeles Clippers to carve out his own legacy. This decision left the Lakers scrambling to fill roster spots, while the Clippers simply smiled at the position they had been put in.

Going into next season, the assumption is that the Lakers and the Clippers will be the two best teams in the Western Conference. With the Golden State Warriors heavily depleted thanks to injuries, the Conference is wide open and there for the taking. The newfound parity ultimately raises the question: who’s better, the Lakers or the Clippers?

LeBron James' Lakers Vs. Kawhi Leonard's Clippers: Who's Better?

Yong Teck Lim/Getty s

Starting out with the fense, it’s important to examine both team’s stars first. When it comes to the Lakers, they will be led by LeBron James and Anthony Davis who are always good to put up a dazzling amount points. At 34 years old, LeBron James averaged 27.4 points per game and complemented that with a little over eight rebounds and assists per match.

LeBron will turn 35 this season but if he’s able to keep up this blistering pace, the Lakers will be able to win a few games thanks to his talents alone. AD is going to be a problem as well, considering he averaged 25.9 points per game during the 2018-2019 season. Add 12 rebounds and four assists per game into the mix and you’ve got yourself a deadly fense.

LeBron James' Lakers Vs. Kawhi Leonard's Clippers: Who's Better?

Ethan Miller/Getty s

The rest the Lakers lineup is a mix-and-match players who have never played together, so there is a good reason to be a little concerned here. For instance, the team just picked up DeMarcus Cousins in free agency who played well last season but has been suffering from injury problems throughout the better part his career. If Cousins can stay healthy and have a resurgence, the Lakers will certainly be a deadly team moving forward. However, if Cousins struggles, the Lakers might be caught lugging some dead weight.

Other pickups like Jared Dudley and Danny Green will surely help, although they don’t possess the star power you would expect from a Lakers team. Meanwhile, Kyle Kuzma, Rajon Rondo, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and JaVale McGee are all coming back so there should be a decent amount cohesion here. With all factors considered, the Lakers will be a great fensive team, although some chemistry issues could hurt them at the start the season.

As for the Clippers, they were the fourth best team in the league last season when it came to fense, as they averaged 115.11 points per game. With the additions Leonard and George, it’s safe to say they’ve improved and even have the potential to be the best fensive team in the entire NBA. Last season, Kawhi averaged a career-high 26.6 points per match, with 7.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists. Geroge wasn’t too shabby either, as he was a finalist for the league’s MVP award – although he eventually lost out to Giannis Antetokounmpo. The former Thunder star averaged 28 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 4.1 assists last season and with Leonard as his sidekick, the Clippers will be ready to terrorize the league.

LeBron James' Lakers Vs. Kawhi Leonard's Clippers: Who's Better?

Ezra Shaw/Getty s

What makes the Clippers stand out is their deep bench, which includes three-time sixth man the year award winner, Lou Williams. Coming f the bench, Williams was able to average 20 points last year which made the Clippers deadly during all 48 minutes the game. Add players like Montrezl Harrell, Ivica Zubac, Landry Shamet, and Patrick Beverley and you’ve got yourself an incredibly dangerous squad.

Like any team with new players, the Clippers will have to adjust when it comes to chemistry. It might take a while for Leonard and George to adjust to Doc Rivers’ system, so Clippers fans should cut their new-look team some slack. Not to mention, George has multiple injury problems in the past and if he can’t stay healthy, the Clippers might have trouble leaning on Kawhi Leonard to do all the work.

Overall, both these teams will have great fenses but for now, it looks like the Lakers have a bit an advantage here. If the Lakers can get all their new players to gel and play to their full potential, they’ll be able to beat anybody.

As far as defense is concerned, the Lakers could have quite a few problems if they’re not careful. While LeBron and AD have proven themselves to be great defensive players in the past, they’ve also been lacking at times as well. When you watch LeBron out on the court these days, you can tell he’s not as committed to playing defense as he used to be. At 34 years old, James has to conserve his energy to go on deep runs and playing staunch defense 100 percent the time isn’t always conducive to that. This could obviously change though, as James will be motivated to improve upon last year’s 10th place finish in the Western Conference. As for Davis, if he can get back to his first-team all defender form 2017-2018, perhaps the Lakers won’t be in so much trouble after all.

LeBron James' Lakers Vs. Kawhi Leonard's Clippers: Who's Better?

Harry How/Getty s

When it comes to the rest the team, head coach Frank Vogel will certainly have his work cut out for him. Rondo was questionable at best on defense last season although perhaps the play Quinn Cook can mask that. There are certainly a lot questions here regarding the Lakers, so fans are going to have to wait and see. Off the ball, the Lakers will struggle. On the ball, they have a good shot at doing some damage.

Even though the Clippers gave up an average 114.99 points per game last season, their defense could quickly improve and become one the best the NBA has seen in a long time. George was a first-team NBA all-defensive player this season, while Leonard found himself on the second. Both players can execute staunch defense while on and f the ball, which will be a nightmare for opposing teams.

Leonard has built a reputation for shutting down stars, with LeBron being at the top that list. With the Toronto Raptors, Leonard re-established himself as one the best two-way players in the game, and if he can come through with a repeat last season, the Clippers are in for a treat. As for George, he just needs to stay healthy and avoid the wrath Damian Lillard. If he does those two things, the Clippers will be a brick wall.

Oh, and how can you forget Patrick Beverley? During the first round the playfs against the Golden State Warriors, Beverley was a thorn in the side Kevin Durant who was getting into foul trouble every single game. The Clippers signed Beverley to a three-year deal which will likely turn into one the most underrated signings the fseason. With all things considered, the Clippers will have a clear advantage when it comes to defending next season.

LeBron James' Lakers Vs. Kawhi Leonard's Clippers: Who's Better?

Cooper Neill/Getty s

The Verdict:

After looking at each team’s roster, and assessing their strengths and weaknesses, it’s fair to conclude that both will be championship contenders. The Western Conference is wide open and the Staples Center is ripe for a Los Angeles rivalry for the ages. While the Lakers might be more “prime time,” the Clippers will be the team to methodically break teams down every single night, even if it isn’t always pretty.

The Lakers have a slightly better duo in LeBron James and Anthony Davis, but when it comes to the overall roster and the coaching staff, the Clippers are the clear winner. If these teams meet in the playfs, it will be a series that surely goes the distance. As right now though, the Clippers are the safe choice. If you had to bet on either these teams right now, who would you take, the Clippers or the Lakers? Let us know in the comments.

Diddy, Justin Bieber, & Nicki Minaj Call for A$AP Rocky’s Release From Prison

Free A$AP.

While A$AP Rocky remains in a Swedish jail, his peers are calling for his release. Many have taken to social media to voice their support for the Harlem rapper, who was arrested for his alleged involvement in a street brawl.

A #JusticeForRocky petition has been started on Change.org and received over 390,000 signatures, from Rocky’s friends including Diddy, Justin Bieber, Meek Mill, DJ Khaled, and more. The goal is to get 500,000 signatures.

“Stand in support and request Rocky’s release from Swedish officials! Sign the petition and join the movement at change.org/JusticeForRocky – EVERYONE REPOST THIS NOW!!!!!!” Diddy wrote on Instagram.

Bieber also shared his support, writing, “we’re with you bro @asaprocky go sign this petition!!”

Swedish authorities plan to keep Rocky in custody for two weeks while prosecutors decide whether to charge him for aggravated assault stemming from a Stockholm street brawl, despite video showing the alleged victim harassing and attacking him.

Earlier this week, TMZ reported that the 30-year-old rapper is being held in a Swedish jail with “shockingly inhumane conditions,” including “wretched” food and facilities that are not fit for human beings.

Other celebrities including Kid Cudi, Tory Lanez, and Nicki Minaj have also called for Rocky’s release.
