Marcus Morris May Back Out Of Spurs Deal To Sign With Knicks: Report

Marcus Morris is reconsidering his proposed two-year $20 million deal with the San Antonio Spurs, as the New York Knicks have reportedly put a one-year, $15 million fer on the table.

The Knicks were able to fer such a deal after it was revealed that the team is reworking the two-year, $21 million deal with free agent Reggie Bullock. According to reports, New York is reevaluating Bullock’s health and his ability to play a full slate games in the 2019-20 season, and the two parties are expected to agree to a lesser contract.

As a result, Marcus Morris now has a decision to make.

Morris, 29, averaged 13.9 points and 6.1 rebounds last season for the Boston Celtics. According to ESPN, the Spurs traded forward Davis Bertans to the Washington Wizards and reworked a two-year, $13M agreement with DeMarre Carroll in order to use the full $9.3 million midlevel exception on Morris. Needless to say, if he backs out the deal it’s going to have a negative impact on San Antonio’s roster.

As for the Knicks and Reggie Bullock, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Bullock’s agent David Bauman says both sides are motivated to strike a new deal. Wojnarowski notes that Bauman described the Knicks’ front fice and medical staff as “First-class throughout,” which is certainly a refreshing change.

Nicki Minaj Cancels Saudi Arabia Concert For Women’s Rights

New York, NY – Nicki Minaj chose morality over money when she pulled out of Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah World Fest on Tuesday (July 9) that she was scheduled to headline.

The polarizing rapper became more informed on the strict gender policies of the Middle Eastern country and wanted to support women’s rights, the LGBTQ community and liberty.

“After careful reflection I have decided to no longer move forward with my scheduled concert at Jeddah World Fest,” the Queen author said in a statement to The Associated Press.

Minaj continued, “While I want nothing more than to bring my show to fans in Saudi Arabia, after better educating myself on the issues, I believe it is important for me to make clear my support for the rights of women, the LGBTQ community and freedom of expression.”

Gender segregation is still legal in Saudi Arabia and enforced in numerous restaurants, public schools and universities. More recently, women have been allowed to drive and attend events within sports stadiums.

The Queens-bred musician caught push back from the Human Rights Foundation and other supporters when she initially accepted the gig. The Foundation urged Minaj and the other performers to back out of the concert open letter, asking her to “cancel your appearance as a symbol of solidarity with the ongoing suffering of the Saudi people.”

The non-profit organization praised Minaj for her change of heart. “This is what leadership looks like,” Thor Halvorssen, President Of The Human Rights Foundation said. “We are grateful to Nicki Minaj for her inspiring and thoughtful decision to reject the Saudi regime’s transparent attempt at using her for a public relations stunt,” he continued.

Previous entertainers who performed in Saudi Arabia include Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, the Black Eyed Peas, Sean Paul and more. This isn’t the first time the Cash Money artist considered performing in a country against the Human Rights Foundation’s wishes.

In December 2015, she agreed to a show in Angola despite the backlash and responded to the criticism saying, “every tongue that rises up against me in judgement shall be condemned.”

Russell Westbrook Interested In Trade To The Miami Heat: Report

Oklahoma City Thunder fans were dealt an unexpected blow this past weekend when it was revealed that he was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers. George had signed longterm in OKC but a recruitment call from Kawhi Leonard was too good an opportunity to pass up. With George gone, the Thunder are left with Russell Westbrook who is known for his ability to rack up tripe-doubles. Unfortunately, this hasn’t led to much playf success and with no help around him, the Thunder are looking at ways to move Westbrook before the season starts. It’s certainly an odd predicament for the Thunder who were expected to have a quiet fseason.

According to a report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, there are quite a few teams who are interested, although as right now, the Miami Heat are the frontrunner. The Heat recently picked up Jimmy Butler through a sign-and-trade and are looking to beef up the roster so they can contend in the Eastern Conference. Westbrook has expressed interest in the team and when you consider his eclectic fashion sense, the Russ/Miami partnership feels like a natural one.

At the age 30, Westbrook is entering the second half his career and is looking to win sooner than later. While Woj reports that he still loves the Thunder and their fan base, he’s also looking to win and OKC aren’t in a position to do that right now.

Stay tuned for updates on this situation as we will be sure to bring them to you.

NFL Player Malik McDowell Arrested After Stolen Truck Found On His Property: Report

NFL free agent Malik McDowell has not been having the best luck lately. The Detroit native was arrested few days ago after a truck that was allegedly stolen was found on his property. According to reports, two F-150 pick-up trucks were snatched from a Ford Motor dealership. When investigators tracked one the vehicle’s GPS systems, it was found to be at McDowell’s home.

TMZ states that McDowell told police that he bought the vehicle, fair and square, from a man back in April for $5K. He said that he met the man on the streets Detroit and it was a random person. Officers asked if he had the man’s information, but McDowell reportedly told them he didn’t know his name or his phone number—however, the man was going to contact him in order to give him the vehicle’s paperwork. The truck was eventually towed and McDowell was reportedly arrested for felony receiving and concealing stolen property.

Back in February, McDowell had a physical confrontation with Michigan ficers after he was pulled over on one snowy, winter evening. In video footage captured by the ficer’s dashcam, McDowell pulled over in front a gas station market and got out his Jeep. The ficer repeatedly tells him to get back into his car and after a few moments, he does. The two speak, but it consists McDowell demanding to speak to a supervisor. The ficer tells him just to show his license and registration, but McDowell continues with his demands.

McDowell gets up to walk inside the market, but the ficer tells him not to move and attempts to physically restrain him. This doesn’t stop the 6’6″, 300-pound football player and the altercation turns physical inside. McDowell tussles with the ficer as he fights back. The ficer pulls out a taser and tells him that he will use it, and eventually, McDowell stumbles over falling merchandise and ends up on the floor. McDowell repeatedly says he wants a supervisor as he refuses to lay face down on the ground. The ficer eventually tries to use the taser but fails, causing McDowell to instead jump up and attack the ficer. The two fight inside the store before McDowell is subdued and a backup ficer arrives on the scene. McDowell returns to court over that incident later on this month.

You can watch the intense video the incident here. Yikes.

Wu-Tang Clan Hulu Series Star Shameik Moore Fails At Naming All Members

Los Angeles, CA – Hulu is preparing to unleash its Wu-Tang Clan docu-series Wu-Tang: An American Saga in September. Meanwhile, actor Shameik Moore is preparing for his role as Raekwon but is apparently so consumed with studying The Chef, he had trouble recalling all of the Wu members.

TMZ recently caught up with Moore at the Los Angeles International Airport where he was asked to name everyone in the legendary Hip Hop collective. While Moore admits he didn’t know any of their monikers at first, he says he at least knows the names of those he’s since met.

“RZA, Raekwon, Method Man, Inspectah Deck, GZA, ODB — shit, those might be the ones I know,” he says in the clip. “Oh, Ghostface. Power’s one of them? Or not? Nah. Yeah, those are the ones I know.”

His excuse was that he hadn’t been introduced to U-God, Masta Killa or Cappadonna yet.

To be fair, Moore is only 24 years old. When he was born in 1995, Wu-Tang had only released one album — their iconic 1993 debut, Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). By the time he was old enough to appreciate Hip Hop culture, Wu-Tang was in the 8 Diagram era.

But like it was suggested in the video, Wu-Tang is a critical part of Hip Hop history, so Moore will likely study up after this quiz.

Wu-Tang: An American Saga is expected to premiere on September 8.

Stephen A. Smith Rips NBA For Killing "Owner" Term: "Y’all Smoking Crack"

Stephen A. Smith is known for some the best theatrics in sports journalism and today, Smith went on an epic rant during his radio show. Lucky enough for us and the rest the internet, Smith’s rant was caught on camera for all us to see. What was Smith upset about you ask? Well, the NBA has revealed that they don’t call their owners by the term “owner” because it could be perceived as fensive. Instead, the league prefers to call people “governors” since its more politically correct.

Smith is taking exception to this and went on a big rant today about how the new term is stupid. As Smith so eloquently explained, we’ve gotten to a point in society where everything has become a social issue and how everything fends people. Smith decided to insult those who are fended by the term “owner” by saying they are all “smoking crack.”

The ESPN analyst has been pretty combative with his audience as late. He recently told a caller to “go to hell” and even hung up on someone when they admitted that they had called him high. Today, Smith hung up on at least five people out frustration with their takes.

Smith’s most infamous moment with ESPN was when he said the Knicks recruited Lamar Odom while he was smoking crack, so it’s no surprise that he busted out the insult again.

Michael Blackson Calls AfroFuture Fest "Not Fair" For Race-Based Ticket Pricing

A local Detroit music festival stirred up some reactions after tickets for the festival were selling based on race. People colour were welcomed to pay fifty percent less than non-POC and because that acts such as Tiny Jag pulled out the festival.

“Our ticket structure was built to ensure] that the most marginalized communities (people colour) are provided with an equitable chance at enjoying events in their own community (Black Detroit),” organizers posted on Eventbrite.

TMZ caught up with comedian Michael Blackson while he was headed home in West Hollywood and asked him just what he thought the situation. At first, he joked that all white men should pay twice the amount before sharing his real opinion on the matter. “That’s not fair, you cannot charge the colonizer $20 and charge the Black people $10, that’s not cool,” he said. “I think everybody should pay the same amount money, colonizer or Black people. At the end the day, I think equal opportunity for everybody.”

The race-based ticket prices have since been removed with an option for non-POC attendees to donate extra money, while all tickets are $20 across the board.

50 recently teased that “Power” may not be ending after all. “I Changed my mind POWER is not going to be over after season 6. This shit is [too] good,” he wrote on Instagram last month. It’s unclear if he was just trolling, but spinoffs are already in the works.

James Harden Wins "Smacking" Lawsuit Against Photographer: Report

Basketball players can be some the biggest celebrities in the world so it’s no surprise that photographers and the paparazzi are constantly trying to get videos and photos them. On May 13th, 2016, that’s exactly what happened to James Harden as he was approached by David Flores outside a lounge in Hollywood. Flores claims that Harden actually “angrily smacked” his hand which led to a broken finger. At first, Flores told authorities that he had a video the whole thing but admitted it was doctored. Despite not having the original video, he decided to sue Harden anyway, citing negligence, assault, and battery.

According to TMZ, Harden refused to settle with Flores and the whole lawsuit ended up going to trial by jury. Just recently, it was revealed that the jury sided with Harden, saying he did not intend to injure Flores. This means that the lawsuit has finally come to an end and Harden won’t have to give up any his hard earned cash. Flores will now have to walk away with nothing, which isn’t exactly surprising considering the circumstances.

While Harden could easily afford to pay the man, it’s good to see Harden stick by his principles and see the whole thing through until the very end.

Shirtless JR Smith Steals The Show At MLB All-Star Celebrity Game

JR Smith is one those NBA players that really knows how to party and get a crowd riled up. Throughout his NBA career, he has been known for taking his shirt f whenever the opportunity arises and the results are usually pretty hilarious. Whether it be at the World Series or during an actual NBA game, Smith isn’t afraid to show f his body which is completely covered in tattoos. While Smith’s future with the Cleveland Cavaliers is up in the air, that hasn’t stopped the fans in the city from embracing him as a big personality.

The city’s love and admiration for Smith was on full display this past weekend when he got to be a part the MLB All-Star Celebrity Game. As you would imagine, JR came out with no shirt on and the fans absolutely loved it. Smith seemed to be stumbling around as part the gag which led to some fans on Twitter saying he must have been f the Henny.

Smith helped the Cavs win their first and only championship in 2016, although he famously made a huge error in Game 1 the NBA Finals last year which turned into one the best memes the year.

As right now, some believe the Lakers are interested in acquiring the shooter.

T.I. & 50 Cent Form Debt Collectors Alliance: "Pay Me Expeditiously"

Borrowing money seldom ends well, especially when the recipient the loan decides to dawdle on the repayment process. While many mild-mannered types might simply let some unsquared business go unresolved, Tip Harris has never stood among such a crowd. The Grand Hustle magnate recently found himself seeking to collect money from his signee 5ive Mics, to the tune a cool one thousand. In order to facilitate the process, Tip reached out to the game’s most effective debt collector, whose mere presence is enough to send lesser bodies into a state failure. Of course, that man is 50 “Fty” Cent.

The pair recently connected over the weekend, sending 5ive a friendly warning message, seeped with sinister undertones. “It’s Sunday, which means you’re only a day away from Monday,” says 50, addressing 5ive. “We want the fu*kin money by Monday 5ive.” T.I. chimes in with an emphatic “or else.” To prove he’s not playing, T.I. proceeds to borrow an additional thousand from 50, essentially transferring 5ive’s debt to the Power mogul.

The power move was enough to spur 5ive into action. The Ain’t No Chill rapper slid into Tip’s comments, requesting 50’s cash app name to settle up. “My money good,” he vows, after claiming to have received radio silence from Tip. ” My phone ain’t rung sir,” replies the Troubleman. “Don’t even trip I’m pullin UP on ya in a few. Just sit TIGHT.”
