50 Cent Back-Pedals & Says "Power" Is NOT Ending This Summer

Big news from 50 Cent today. A few weeks ago, the executive producer Power informed us all that the show would be coming to an end this summer. The next season Power would apparently be the last with the producers intending on branching out into many different spin-f series. If you’ve been complaining about the end an era, you’re likely to be extremely satisfied by the following news. If Curtis Jackson is to be believed (and he works backstage on the show so, why wouldn’t his take be legitimate?) then Power is not going to close in August.

The show is undoubtedly coming to an end soon but according to Fif, this summer will not be the last the show. He took to social media to unveil his plans to continue the major storylines in a later season, revealing that the series is not actually ending right now. “I Changed my mind POWER is not going to be over after season 6,” said the producer in his post. “This shit is to good.”

With the news being broken by 50 Cent, do you think they came up with some pretty crazy plot points in the writer’s room? What could have changed Courtney A. Kemp’s decision to close out with Season 6?

Air Jordan 1 High OG "Gym Red" Drops This Saturday: Official Photos

If there is one thing you can count on as a sneakerhead any given year, it’s that there will be brand new colorways the Air Jordan 1 High OG. It’s the first shoe Michael Jordan ever wore with Nike and has become more a fashion staple than an actual basketball shoe. Because this, Nike has made sure to come out with a plethora colorways the shoe, even if some are more similar then others.

This weekend, yet another Jordan 1 colorway will be making its way to the market, this time in the Air Jordan 1 High OG “Gym Red.” The model is similar to some the Chicago colorways we have seen in the past, although this one has very limited hits red which are placed on the cuff, Nike Air branding, and the Nike swoosh on the sides. The rest the sneaker features black leather overlays, white side panels, and a white toe box which is also made leather.

These will be dropping on Saturday, June 29th for $160 USD. If you’re a Jordan 1 collector, these will be another must-cop.

Lil Uzi Vert Is As Confused About "Eternal Atake" As You Are

The major label blues aren’t entirely uncommon, especially where the rap game is concerned. We’ve long seen rappers lament their decision to sign record deals, a lamentation that only worsens once their creative freedom becomes impeded. After all, it’s business first, and not every rapper is created commercially equal. Yet Lil Uzi Vert has proven himself time and time again in that regard; it wasn’t long ago that “XO Tour Life” reigned supreme as 2017’s biggest anthem. Still, the diminutive lyricist has found himself stifled yet again, as he revealed to a pair excited, yet sadly naive fans.

Lil Uzi Vert Is As Confused About "Eternal Atake" As You Are

Frazer Harrison/Getty s

“When Eternal Atake dropping,” asks one fan, while a forlorn Uzi looks on. “Um,” he muses. “I don’t know, honestly.” It’s sad to watch, given the history surrounding the upcoming project, which has been lined with Drama befitting his label boss’ name. It would appear that not even the guiding hand Roc Nation can right this ship, and at this rate, we may very well see Detox before hearing another full-length project from Lil Uzi Vert.

Perhaps all we can do is be patient, and support “That’s A Rack” and “Sanguine Paradise” appropriately. Still, the songs come equipped with some slight baggage, as one has to wonder how much the pie is going to Lil Uzi himself.

Report: 62% of Festivalgoers Want Music Festivals to Cut Down on Waste Reduction, Yet Most Abandon Their Tents at Events

Ticketmaster UK has unveiled its State of Play report.

In its latest annual study, the live promoter focused on music festivals across the UK.

Drawing on 10 years of ticket data and surveying over 4,000 festivalgoers, Ticketmaster found 62% remain concerned about waste reduction initiatives at music festivals.  To cut down on sexual harassment and crime, 61% said they wanted improved security at events.  57% said they want music festivals and live gigs to be “eco-friendly.”  53% want a greater variety of events and activities, 50% want to have “unique experiences,” and 48% said they want events to feature more “communal [and] chill spaces.”

Speaking about festival sustainability and the environment, the live promoter wrote,

Many have already implemented green initiatives such as offering locally sourced and organic foods, rewarding those who arrive low carbon emission routes or putting “reduce, reuse, recycle” efforts into play.

Despite festivalgoers’ desire for more environmentally friendly music festivals, 25% of all respondents admitted to sometimes leaving their tents behind, thus polluting the environment.  13% said they always abandon their tents at events.

So, why does this happen?  Most people, says Ticketmaster, believe organizers will simply recycle the abandoned tents.

Breaking down gender diversity in the 2019 State of Play: Festivals report, 49% believe diversity has improved.  47% of all respondents believe organizers have the sole responsibility of ensuring festival line-ups “are as diverse as possible.”  29% agree music events don’t have enough diversity.

Yet, despite their desire to see more diversity, 42% admitted they don’t consider a gender-balanced line-up when choosing which festivals and gigs to attend.

Analyzing the habits of festivalgoers, Ticketmaster found more males than females attend music gigs, 52% to 47%.  The average age of attendees stands at 37.

Breaking that number down, 6% of those aged 65 and over attend music gigs, 8% are aged 55-63, 16% are aged 45-54, 20% are aged between 35 and 44, a whopping 26% – the largest age group – are aged 25-34, 15% are aged between 20 and 24, and 9% are 16 to 19.

17% of British festivalgoers come from London.  Just 2% come from Northern Ireland.

61% of all festivalgoers also attend music festivals with friends.  38% go with their significant other.  10% attend with their children and 9% go with their siblings.

55% of all respondents also said they usually attend festivals and music gigs with 2 to 4 friends.  18% attend with 5 to 9 people they know.  15% usually go with just 1 person.  8% go alone.

Breaking down the reasons for attending music festivals, 31% said they do so for the “experience.”  29% attend to hear their favorite music.  25% go to socialize.  And, 15% attend to “escape” reality.

Travis Scott is the latest rapper to step into the cereal market. The last to do so was Lil Durkwith “DurkiOs.” As you may recall, the 30-year-old rapper ventured on creative grounds-business wise when he announced a collaboration with SoFlo Snacks, a Miami-based company specializing in customized drinks and snacks. Kevin Durant Free Agency Odds Updated: Nets Now The Favorite

Kevin Durant is easily the best and most intriguing free agent on the market this Summer. It’s not confirmed just yet if he’ll decline his player option with the Warriors although most signs are pointing to yes. If this is the case, Durant will be able to sign with whoever he wants and there have been plenty rumors as to where his heart lies. Some the biggest teams on the list are the New York Knicks and the Los Angeles Clippers although there is no telling who will end up with the two-time NBA Finals MVP.

If you’re a sports fan who likes to place bets and make a little bit money on the side, you’ll be happy to know that Caesars has updated the Kevin Durant landing spot odds. As right now, the Brooklyn Nets are the frontrunner at -125 thanks to KD’s connections to Kyrie Irving. The Warriors are second with +200 odds while the Knicks and Clippers are next at +500 and +800 respectively.

There have been reports that Durant isn’t happy with the Warriors thanks to the handling his calf injury which is a sign he could be on his way out. As for the Nets, should Durant and Kyrie decide to sign there, they will instantly become a title contender in the Eastern Conference.

Drake’s Dad Dennis Graham Says He Won $300,000 Betting On Toronto Raptors

It looks like Drake wasn’t the only one in his family happy about the Toronto Raptors winning the NBA Finals last week. His pops, Dennis Graham, was also very ecstatic about the Championship coming home north the border, and that’s because he won himself $300,000 f it.

“I am the happiest guy in the world,” Dennis told TMZ last night with two ladies on his arm when asked about the Raptors’ championship. “I bet $100,000 on the game and I won $300,000!!!” he added.

However, that wasn’t all Dennis had to say to the camera. He also had some advice for the Raptors when it comes to visiting Donald Trump — don’t do it. He called President Trump an “idiot,” while saying he thinks the team should meet with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau instead.

“Justin Trudeau is a much classier guy than that IDIOT Donald Trump,” Dennis said when asked about visiting the White House.

50 Cent Calls Teairra Mari A "Dirt Bag" Following DWI Arrest

New York, NY – 50 Cent is back at it. Shortly after demanding an alleged debt from Adrien Broner, he’s after Teairra Mari (again).

The Love & Hip Hop: New York personality was arrested in the Big Apple for a DWI and driving on a suspended license over the weekend. According to TMZ, officers pulled Mari over early Saturday morning (June 22) after she was spotted coming out of the Midtown Tunnel into Queens in a red Dodge Charger with sparks coming off of it.

Officers noticed the front right wheel was gone and the bumper was making contact with the ground, creating the sparks. Once Mari came to a full stop, police performed field sobriety tests. They ultimately determined she was intoxicated and arrested her.

Now, Fiddy is having a little fun at her expense as she sits in jail. On Sunday (June 23), he took to his favorite social media platform, Instagram, and clowned Mari for her troubles.

“Jesus take the wheel,” he wrote in the caption. “A bitch drunk. I still want my money Monday. (Dirt Bag!)”

50 was awarded $30,000 in Mari’s revenge porn lawsuit in January. She was attempting to sue him for reposting a sex tape she’d made with her ex-boyfriend.

But, a judge dropped all charges against the Power exec and ordered Mari to pay $30,618 to cover his legal fees.

Since then, 50 has been relentless on social media about collecting the money. However, she hasn’t paid a single cent and dropped a diss track called “I Ain’t Got It” instead.

Wizards Decline Jabari Parker’s $20 Million Option, Seek Longterm Deal: Report

I’d be lying if I told you Jabari Parker’s bluechip luster was still-in-effect. Right from the onset his career, the Duke alum has battled through injuries, hindering his development in consequence. Luckily for Parker, his fensive repertoire was fully-operational the moment he stepped into the league; it was the other facets the game which have eluded him thus far.

With all that said, the Washington Wizards are keen on seeing out Parker’s next developmental phase, for as long as the locker room remains in a fluctuating state, due to injury concerns, and a lack chemistry. Parker joined the fray in February in a transaction with the Chicago Bulls that saw Otto Porter Jr. go in the other direction. The Wizards foresaw Porter Jr. as a “Max Contract” type talent, but the hype never materialized the way they’d hoped.

Over 25 games with the Wizards last season, Parker averaged a respectable 15/7 in points and rebounds, respectively. His outlying numbers were enough to convince the Wizards’ front fice his provisional value, while the team embarked on a rebuild major proportions. The former 2nd overall pick is on the back end a two-year $40 million contract, pending the renewal a “team option” for 2019-2020. According to Chris Haynes Yahoo Sports, both sides have agreed to decline the “team option” in favor a longer-term deal with more cap flexibility. Something’s got to give in Washington, DC, you would think.

Azealia Banks Is Quitting Rap: "I’m Entirely Too Good For 3/4 Of The Public"

Despite insisting she’s the “most talented female rapper,” Azealia Banks says she’s quitting rap. On Friday (June 21), the controversial artist headed to Instagram where she emphatically stated her rapping days were behind her.

Banks feels people are more interested in her dramatic rants and any potential “bad news” about her than the music she creates.

Banks dove into further detail in the lengthy caption attached to the screenshot.

“Stop asking,” she said in part. “I’m clearly not ever going to release music again. I’m entirely too good for 3/4 of the public. They don’t deserve me and I don’t deserve to have my life’s purpose attached to ‘having to work three times as hard as a white woman’ lmfao FOH.

“How about I don’t work at all collect ebt and make a multi million dollar shit talk YouTube channel effectively making an exponentially higher amount of money than I’d make ‘working three times as hard.’”

Stop asking. I’m clearly not ever going to release music again. I’m entirely too good for 3/4 of the public. They don’t deserve me and I don’t deserve to have my life’s purpose attached to “having to work three times as hard as a white woman” lmfao FOH. How about I don’t work at all , collect ebt and make a multi million dollar shit talk YouTube channel effectively making an exponentially higher amount of money than I’d make “working three times as hard” . . . If you cannot tell by now, Azealia Banks has been trying her hardest to hack the “three times as hard as a white woman code” …. some of you may see it as stupidity but I cannot , have not and will never accept that as a rule of my life, I will actually do the exact opposite in order to disrupt whatever spiritual warfare there is attached to that “three times as hard” ideology…. that is not an original black womans thought ….. that is something she has been taught and something I’ve dedicated my life to undoing. Although I was naturally born an exceptionally talented being, it behooves me to exhibit normalcy and humanity outside of being the stellar *over achieving negress* American social archetype each and every one of your favorite black female celebrities are. Even if I must underachieve or be mediocre… I will do so in order for the greater white society to UNDERSTAND, that my existence is NEVER EVER for their comfort, entertainment or consumption. The way whiteness engages with black entertainers is still not sterile enough for me to want to engage at that level. I want the special American psychopath pass given to Quentin Tarantino … until then you can read my rants and listen to the one song I drop a year. 🤷🏽‍♀️

A post shared by Azealia Banks (@azealiabanks) on

After a fan pointed out Banks was responsible for the positions she’s in, she quickly claimed the title of the “most intelligent” and “MOST talented” female rapper while defending her behavior. She says people don’t like her because she’s “conventionally ugly and black.”

“You all will find out when it is too late and I’ve married a Russian and get to raise my kids in a fancy Siberian underground bunker while you all scramble to get indoors for 6pm curfew under us martial law,” she wrote in another post. Lmfao… fuck y’all … don’t hate me hate your mother for not sending you to private and catholic school.

“Hate your very limited use of vocabulary. Hate the Board of education for failing you. Hate yourself for smoking hookah and paying fashion nova $90 for $15 clothes…….. Azealia banks is not your enemy .”

Elon Musk "Deletes" Twitter After Being Accused Of Stealing Fan Art

Elon Musk is one the most fascinating people in the entire world. The 47-year-old Tesla CEO is seemingly one the most creative entrepreneurs all time, coming up with innovative ideas and using his eclectic personality to gain a loyal customer base. He isn’t a stranger to controversy, getting caught up in his fair share drama over the years. The most recent headlines to be made regarding Elon Musk happen to stem from an artwork he posted on Twitter without crediting the creator. After some back-and-forth with fans about how he doesn’t “need” to credit artists before using their work, the brains behind SpaceX announced that he was leaving the social media platform altogether.

Elon Musk may have twenty-seven million followers but that doesn’t mean he’s not against leaving Twitter if he gets sick the hate. As reported by Hypebeast, the entrepreneur announced that he would be “deleting” Twitter before swiftly removing that post and flipping the script. Now, Musk is back to his regularly scheduled programming, sharing ridiculous memes and reposting Tesla’s new announcements.

The controversy stems from this weekend when Elon posted a fan-made artwork the video game Nier: Automata. When his followers asked him to add the artist’s credit to his upload, he flat-out refused before joking that “no one should be credited with anything ever.” Following his “deletion” the app, Musk changed his name to “Daddy DotCom” and switched out his avatar. Everything is back to normal now though.

Watch Rihanna Go Day Drinking with Seth Meyers

Pour it up.

Rihanna went day drinking with Seth Meyers on Thursday’s episode of “Late Night with Seth Meyers.” During the hilarious 12-minute segment, they drank Rihanna-themed cocktails while dishing out advice to one another and Rihanna even gave Seth a Fenty Beauty makeover.

They kicked it off with a shot and a glass of beer. “This is what I call a prom date,” said Rihanna before things escalated.

Seth played bartender, serving up drinks with Rihanna-inspired names like “Under My Rumbrella,” “Diamonds in the Rye,” “Bitch Better Have My Bunny,” and “We Found Veuve in a Hostess Place,” which consisted of a Twinkie in a glass of champagne.

He also played a drinking game with the fashion icon, who had to guess where she wore each outfit. If she answered incorrectly, she would have to take a shot.

After the liquor set in, the wealthiest female musician in the world revealed that she wanted to be a pilot (“When I realized my grades sucked”). They then switched places and Rihanna gave Seth some scandalous advice for date night with his wife.

Seth hosted Rihanna’s Diamond Ball last year. The charity gala, which benefits her Clara Lionel Foundation, will return to New York City on Sept. 12.

Watch them bond over liquor and laughs.

Spotify Says They 'Overpaid Most Publishers In 2018' — And They Want a Refund

Looks like everybody’s gotta play by the same rules — Spotify’s rules.

Not only is Spotify fighting a proposed increase songwriter and publisher royalties.  They’re also demanding a refund, based on overpayments made in 2018 on family bundles and college plans.

Spotify shared this statement with Digital Music News on Friday.

“According to the new [Copyright Royalty Board] regulations, we overpaid most publishers in 2018,” Spotify stated.  “While the appeal of the CRB decision is pending, the rates set by the CRB are current law, and we will abide by them — not only for 2018, but also for future years in which the amount paid to publishers is set to increase significantly.”

As a ‘favor’ to impacted publishers and songwriters, Spotify has agreed not to take the money back immediately.

“Rather than collect the 2018 overpayment immediately, we have offered to extend the recoupment period through the end of 2019 in order to minimize the impact of the adjustment on publishing companies.”

Strangely, the ‘overpayment’ is based on an updated royalty code that Spotify is fighting.  Essentially, the message is this: if publishers want to hike up rates, they’ll also have to accept reduced royalties where the rules call for them.

Of course, the music publishing industry is livid.

But Spotify says its merely playing by the rules as codified by the Copyright Royalty Board.  Specifically, those rules count family plans as 1.5 subscribers, while college plans count as 0.5 subscribers.  Accordingly, Spotify has incorrectly multiplied its payouts based on that math.
