Salt-n-Pepa’s “Push It” will probably still be playing on radios and in house parties for decades to come; as people never quite seem to tire the cult classic track. The epic girl group will seemingly never go out style, as loyal fans all over the globe continue to bump their tracks, as such, their devoted fans were excited to see the group were hitting the road once again, set to join New Kids On The Block for “The Mixtape Tour” this summer. However, as we reported back in May, though the group’s promotional efforts for the upcoming tour featured pictures all three members – Salt, Pepa, and DJ Spinderella – standing as a united front, there was actually trouble in paradise all along. Despite reports that the group were moving forward as a trio, Spinderella took to Instagram to open up about her “termination” from the group, explaining that she would “not be performing on the #NKOTB Mixtape Tour.” With no further explanation provided, people were left thirsting for more tea on the matter, and now, news has arrived that reveals a possible premeditated decision by Salt-n-Pepa to leave Spinderella out the loop, as the DJ is suing the duo on 3 different counts, claiming they screwed her out her slice the pie.
The ten flashy and boastful Floyd “Money” Mayweather is enjoying retirement, but there are plenty opponents who want to see him step foot in the pressional arena just one more time. His firm, Mayweather Promotions, has been a formidable force in the sport boxing as they’ve helped orchestrate some top-earning fights, but if you ask Mayweather himself, he’s comfortable playing the role a businessman rather than a fighter.
Back in 2017, Mayweather and Connor McGregor went 10 rounds in the ring before Mayweather took home the victory with a TKO. According to Forbes, Mayweather was guaranteed $100 million if he took the fight, but in the end, the match earned him nearly $300 million. Since then, McGregor has been doing his best to coax Mayweather into a rematch.
A TMZ cameraman recently caught up with Mayweather and asked him if there was any way he’d put his retirement on hold for just one more fight against McGregor. After he and his crew laughed at the mention a rematch, Mayweather said, “Boy, boy, boy, boy, boy. These kids are some circus clowns. You know they can’t f*ck with Money May. You know what it is. Like I said before: the same lifestyle that I had when I was fightin’, it’s the same lifestyle that I got now. You know, they try to defeat me any kind way. On the basketball court when it’s not for the money. They try to lock me up. They try to say…they gon’ keep coming my way. At the end the day, I keep laughing. I keep living. I keep going to the bank.”
Because his team is behind the forthcoming Manny Pacquiao fight, Mayweather was mums-the-word on how he expects it to play out. When the cameraman tried to get Mayweather to name the best boxers in the game right now, he was surprisingly diplomatic.”Twenty-three years I did what I did,” he said. “I’m not here to knock no fighter. All fighters out there fighting right now, I wish them nothing but the best. If I can’t say nothing positive, I’m not here to say nothing negative. Even though I may not want to be, I’m still the face boxing.”
Lil Durk currently has an attempted murder case looming over his head, but his serious legal issues aren’t preventing him from releasing music. The Chicago-bred rapper has announced a new album titled Love Songs 4 The Streets 2, which is scheduled to drop July 26 on Alamo Records.
“I made LS4TS2 for women, my Day Ones, the trenches and all those that doubted me,” he said in a press release.
In addition to the announcement, the Windy City rhymer has dropped the King Von-assisted lead single “Like That.” The track adds to a growing list of collaborations between Durk and his Only The Family signee Von.
Durk’s original Love Songs For The Streets mixtape was released in 2017. Its sequel, a studio album, serves as the follow-up to last November’s Signed To The Streets 3 LP.

Everyone who’s even remotely associated with the hip-hop community has called for A$AP Rocky’s release. The rapper’s currently incarcerated in Sweden where he’s facing a six-year sentence for an altercation his crew had with two belligerent men who were seen harassing the rapper on camera. There have been reports that the rapper’s been held in a facility with inhumane conditions but prison ficials are refuting those claims.
PageSix spoke to the governor the Kronoberg detention center, Frederik Wallin, who claimed that the facility was renovated in recent times and that inmates receive three meals per day. Wallin’s statements were made on the “general conditions which apply to all prisoners” and didn’t specify whether Rocky was inside their facility, although the Swedish court confirmed Rocky’s detainment at Kronoberg.
“Normally, you live in a prison cell which consists a desk, a bed with a mattress and a TV,” Wallin said. “During the last few years, we have completed a large reconstruction where all the prison cells, as well as the rest the remand prison, have been completely renovated, which make the remand prison in good condition. I have no knowledge on any current diseases in the remand prison.”
He added that the prison staff is diligent in making sure that facilities are clean for the sake both the workers and prisoners.
In the online petition launched for Rocky’s freedom, the rapper’s manager detailed the condition the prison where Rocky was being detained which include “24/7 solitary confinement, restriction amenities for the most basic human functions, access to palatable and life sustaining food as well as unsanitary conditions.” You could sign the petition here.
Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather isn’t shy about showing off the wealth he’s accumulated as the result of his hard work.
As part of his Fourth Of July celebration, he posted an Instagram video spotlighting $1.8 million in cash, an Arnold Schwarzenegger watch and the world’s largest Chanel bag, which he says was a gift from the late Karl Lagerfeld.
“I was once told that ‘the loudest person in the room is the weakest person in the room,’” he wrote in the caption. “Well, that works for the individuals that’s doing something illegal. But in my case, I’m happy to flaunt my legal wealth and brag about being a black man that came from poverty, beat all odds and not give a fuck about what anybody thinks. Happy 4th, this is my independence! Now, let the fireworks begin!”

I was once told that “the loudest person in the room is the weakest person in the room”. Well, that works for the individuals that’s doing something illegal. But in my case, I’m happy to flaunt my legal wealth and brag about being a black man that came from poverty, beat all odds and not give a fuck about what anybody thinks. Naturally, it didn’t take long for 50 Cent to diss Mayweather. On Tuesday (July 9), the infamous Instagram troll shared an Instagram post of his own, clowning the Chanel bag. He referenced a line from the Lil Baby and Gunna song “Drip Too Hard” along with it.
“You can have the biggest Chanel in the store if you want it,” he wrote in the caption. “I don’t think Lil Baby was talking about this dumb shit you bought champ. LOL GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE! #lecheminduroi#bransoncognac Legendary stupid shit.”
At the start of “Drip Too Hard,” Lil Baby raps, “You can get the biggest Chanel bag in the store if you want it/I gave ’em the drip, they sucked it up, I got ’em on it.”
The song comes from the 2018 mixtape of the same name and was evidently provided the ammo Fiddy needed to target his longtime adversary.

Queen Badulla has had her number high prile relationships in the past, including with icons Jay Electronica and André 3000. This time, she’s taken to social media to share another relationship hers from the past, with comedian and talk show host, Rickey Smiley, alongside a (pretty all over the place) hilarious storytime recounting the beef she’s had with his mama over the years.
“This guy . I love . Period,” she starts the caption. “But his mama won’t get out our business. She was at my show in Dallas waiting back stage to fight me again. And I’m tired it. SIS RELAX. We had 3 fights and I keep laying that ass down. But this time that bitch got me… in the Jaw. I didn’t recognize her cause she was blending in with mary j blige dancers.” She goes on to detail how “her body look young cause crack,” and how she pressed charges but they let her out. “Now every time I get to the last song on my set I start taking f my jewelry on stage. I got anxiety .I’m tired. Just …tired. She still lift weights. Yes! in 2019. Ion give a DAMN!” She closes f the caption with “I swear I’m gone rock her ass if she square up on me again. Bout to see what this ho made ,” before tagging Rickey alongside a bunch heart emojis. It didn’t take long for Rickey to comment himself saying “I’m crying!!!!!” It’s unsure whether the whole thing was a joke or not, but based on Rickey’s own 3-part storytime response posts, it seems as if the two could be doing it for the lols here.
Based on this TB video posted by Rickey back in February, which shows Ms. Badu roasting his mama on stage, it could indeed just be a longstanding inside joke.
Kawhi Leonard was a man on everyone’s mind throughout free agency and over the weekend, he finally announced that he would be going to the Los Angeles Clippers. He was expected to sign a four-year deal with the team, although he decided to go with a three-year deal with a player option in the third year. This allows Kawhi to pursue a max contract after his tenth season, which will make him eligible for a lot more money. Even though the Clippers won’t have Leonard under contract for the long term, they’re still pretty excited about his presence on the team.
The Clippers took to Twitter with their very own take on the infamous “ladies and gentleman, we got ’em” meme. Of course, the original video was supposed to be an announcement after the capture Saddam Hussein. For the Clippers, Leonard was their man from that start and they were able to get him to sign on, which is why the meme is so funny. The video even features the song from the meme and includes some Kawhi’s biggest highlights.
At the end the video, the Clippers made sure to welcome Kawhi back to Los Angeles which is his hometown. No matter how you feel about Leonard’s decision, it’s clear that he’ll fit in nicely with the Clippers.
JAY-Z is getting in the legal weed business.
The rap mogul has joined California-based cannabis company Caliva as Chief Brand Strategist as part of a new multi-year partnership.
According to Rolling Stone, hip-hop’s first billionaire will help Caliva with creative decisions, outreach efforts, and strategy. He will also focus on social justice issues surrounding legalization, including “advocacy, job training, and overall employee and workforce development.”
“Anything I do, I want to do correctly and at the highest level,” JAY-Z said in a statement. “With all the potential in the cannabis industry, Caliva’s expertise and ethos make them the best partners for this endeavor. We want to create something amazing, have fun in the process, do good and bring people along the way.”
JAY-Z reached out to Caliva following an extensive search to find a partner in the cannabis industry. “For JAY-Z to seek out Caliva as a partner is humbling and confirms our mission of being the most trusted name in cannabis,” said Caliva CEO, Dennis O’Malley. “To find that we were in complete alignment around our values and ethos was just a home run. We believe this partnership is unparalleled in this or any business and we could not be more pleased to be working with him and have him as our Chief Brand Strategist.”
JAY-Z is the latest rapper to invest in the marijuana business. Snoop Dogg launched his own weed brand, Leafs by Snoop, while 2 Chainz owns The Gas Cannabis Co. Additionally, Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J, Ty Dolla $ign, and Curren$y have all developed their own signature strains.
LeBron James had a rough first season with the Los Angeles Lakers as the team finished in 10th place in the Western Conference and missed the playfs. During the fseason, the team has been making significant moves to improve the roster, including the trade which brought Anthony Davis over from the New Orleans Pelicans. LeBron decided to give Davis his number 23 and now, James will be wearing the number 6 like he did while in Miami. The King also revealed that he would be bringing back his signature chalk toss which was easily one the most exciting intros in all sports.
On Twitter today, one fan suggested LeBron should take it up a notch as he posted a photo the Lakers star with goggles on. Of course, this is a nod to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar who was famous for his sports goggles out on the court.
LeBron thought the tweet was pretty funny as he replied with a whole clip laughing emojis. Based on this reaction, we won’t be seeing the goggles any time soon, although it would probably be a hilarious sight to behold.
Heading into next season, Lebron will have to provide some Kareem-inspired leadership if he wants to give his squad an opportunity to win. Only time will tell whether or not they can get it done.
Stockholm, Sweden – The Swedish jail A$AP Rocky is being held in is reportedly unfit for human beings.
Sources close to Rocky reported to TMZ that the A$AP Mob member is sleeping on a yoga mat without a blanket, being given dirty water, inedible food and is exposed to feces being thrown by the prisoner in the cell next to him. He reportedly ate one apple a day for the first five days of his incarceration.
Rocky was arrested on July 2 on suspicion of aggravated assault after his alleged involvement in a physical altercation that took place on June 30. The situation stemmed from two men who were following Rocky and his entourage for four blocks over a pair of broken headphones.
The Harlem rapper is being held for two weeks while Swedish prosecutors decide whether or not to charge him with the crime.
An interesting facet of the situation comes from a treaty signed by the U.S. and Sweden. The Vienna Convention for Consular Relation, states when a foreigner, such as Rocky, is arrested they are immediately granted the right to speak to a member of the U.S. Consulate.
After requesting the meeting, the American Consulate member was reportedly denied access to Rocky, claiming the Swedes did not want him to see the conditions of the facilitates.
Persistence from Rocky’s team eventually lead to the consulate member seeing Rocky two days after his initial request. The two were reportedly not allowed to speak privately and had to be within earshot of two Swedish guards.
Rocky’s team is now trying to get members of the State Department involved in assisting in their incarcerated friend’s release.
Despite court proceeding’s in Sweden being closed to the public and media, several members of the Hip Hop community have voiced their outrage over the situation calling for a boycott of the country indefinitely.
This whole A$AP Rocky situation is starting to feel like a big joke. First, he explained that he was trying to keep peace between both sides before things got physical. Then, he was arrested by Swedish police, who forced him to spend the next two weeks behind bars. The most recent update pertains to the rapper’s current living condition. He is allegedly being held in solitary confinement where he’s been sleeping on a yoga mat and eating a single apple per day. Things are reportedly horrible where he’s staying and so many us are hoping that Flacko can make his way out this and get back home. His crew, the A$AP Mob, has just launched a petition that fans can sign to voice their opinions, giving everybody an opportunity to speak up and help the artist get out jail.
“Stand in support and request Rocky’s release from Swedish ficials,” wrote the Mob on a post asking for Justice for Rocky. The petition appeared earlier today and already, nearly 55,000 people have signed their names. The goal is for 75,000 different names to appear on the list but we have a feeling Rocky will get many more signatures than that.
Eve is a legend in the game, and though her career has since carried her elsewhere (she’s got new music on the way), her story is lined with fascinating anecdotes and milestones. She made sure to share many with Luc Belaire CEO Brett Berish, detailing some her experiences with Dr. Dre, the Ruff Ryders, and more.
“My first ever deal was with Dr. Dre,” reveals Eve, reflecting on the beginning her iconic career. “His right-hand man came to Philly, and my managers at the time were the local drug dealers. My homies. They called me and was like, ‘we got Dre’s right-hand man’ coming in town, we just taking him around. But, you gonna act like the weed girl, cause he want some weed.’ I was like, alright cool. But what the hell I do when I ain’t got no weed. He was like ‘we just gon’ put on some music, you start rapping.’ And that’s what happened.”

“We got to this house,” she continues. “I stood up. They put a tape in, and I started rapping. He was like ‘the fuck is happening.’ He thought I was selling weed, he was like ‘where’s the weed?’ Then he finished listening to me, letting me rap, and he called Dre right there. He was like ‘yo, I think we found our girl.’ That next weekend, I was in LA doing a demo for Dr. Dre. It was nuts. But then I got dropped, eight months later, and was back in Philly.” She laughs. “It felt like shit, it felt crazy. I had this big going away party, I was in this condo, I had all this money, I was eighteen…And then they dropped me.”
Luckily, Eve’s buzz could not be ignored, and it didn’t take long for the emcee to bounce back. “I got another call, like ‘yo, you need to go up to Yonkers. Tonight. Ruff Ryders, they might want to sign you, but you gotta go battle for it. So I went up to Yonkers, and they put me in a cypher. I basically battled for my life.” Upon emerging victorious, she went on to ink a deal with Ruff Ryders afterward. “If you get another call, you gotta be ready. Period.”
“I always call Ruff Ryders my hip-hop boot camp,” she continues. “I was in the studio longer than the dudes. I was writing, I had to prove myself to them. Quickly, it flipped from these remixes I was on to ‘you need to do an album right now.'” When asked who was consistently standing in her corner, Eve shouts out Darin Dean and Joaquin Dean (the founders Ruff Ryders), Swizz Beatz (“that’s like, my brother”), Drag-On, Infra-Red, DMX, and The Lox. “This was my crew. Period,” she maintains. “These guys really treated me like a baby sister.” And even though Eve ultimately found herself dropped by Aftermath, she still made sure to keep ties with Dre alive; the good Doctor laced a pair beats on her sophomore project Scorpion, as well as two on her follow-up Eve-O-Lution.
Check out the full interview, and pay respects to a Ruff Ryders veteran – that in itself should be worn like a badge honor.
Now that we are safely into the NBA fseason, it’s no surprise that players who have been out the league for a few years are trying to claw their way back in. Amare’ Stoudemire has been out the league since 2016, while Monta Ellis has been without a team since 2017. Most recently, Stoudemire played in the Big 3 and has shown that he can still play ball at a high level. With Summer League being held in Las Vegas, Stoudemire and Ellis decided to host their own workout which was attended by quite a few teams.
According to Chris Haynes Yahoo! Sports, there were a total 12 teams at the workout, with the Los Angeles Lakers being one the more prominent franchises. The Golden State Warriors, New York Knicks, Milwaukee Bucks, Detroit Pistons, and Oklahoma City Thunder were all there as well.
There is no indication as to whether or not any these teams are serious about signing these two players, although they would certainly be cheap options for teams looking to fill out their rosters. The Lakers are certainly one those teams but it remains to be if Stoudemire and Ellis could still play at the NBA level.
Would you want your team to sign either these players?
Breezy is back on top.
Chris Brown debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with his ninth studio album Indigo, which moves 108,000 equivalent album units in its first week. Of that number, 28,000 are in traditional sales.
According to Billboard, Indigo is also the most-streamed album of the week in terms of total on-demand audio streams earned for its 32 tracks, which include collaborations with Drake, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, and Tyga.
Sales were partially driven by a concert ticket/album sale redemption offer with Brown’s upcoming “INDIGOAT Tour,” along with merchandise/album bundles sold on his official website.
Indigo marks Brown’s third No. 1 on the Billboard 200 following 2011’s F.A.M.E. and 2012’s Fortune. It also marks his 10th consecutive top 10 album, including 2015’s Fan of a Fan joint project with Tyga.

A$AP Rocky’s arrest has been upsetting for a variety reasons. Not only did footage clearly point to an act self-defense, but reports his sordid jail conditions have made matters all the more troubling. Yesterday, TMZ issued a disturbing report on the facilities where Rocky is being held. Apparently, Flacko has been forced to sleep on a yoga mat without blankets, all while a nearby prisoner takes to throwing feces. With inedible food and water, Rocky has been resigned to an apple a day.
TMZ also notes that a clear violation the Vienna Convention for Consular Relations has transpired, making the situation all the more dubious. As the treaty states, when a United States citizen is arrested on foreign soil, he or she must be granted a meeting with a U.S. Consulate. Apparently, when Rocky requested the meeting, the Consulate was denied access by Swedish authorities. That in itself is a massive human rights violation, especially given the suspected reason put forth by the publication’s findings: the Consulate believes that the conditions are so deplorable, the Swedish authorities refused the meeting as a precaution. While the Consulate was eventually granted access to Rocky two days later, they were unable to have a private meeting, being shadowed by a pair Swedish guards.

At this point, one has to wonder what’s going to happen to Flacko. Should they indeed let him walk at the end his two-week detainment, what was the point this macabre dog-and-pony show? And worse, if they do decide to move forward with the charges, what’s stopping them from throwing the book at the rapper, whom they’ve already failed to treat with basic human decency. Awareness this predicament has never been more important, and while a few boycott ideas have been thrown around Twitter, the spotlight needs to be turned to max intensity.
Considering the clear violations human rights going on, you’d expect many the major news outlets to be raising awareness for Rocky’s plight. Yet aside from the music-based publications, many news outlets have neglected to shine a light on the situation. CNN reported about it on July 3rd, in a story that covered his initial detainment. MSNBC has yet to cover the story at all. You already know Fox News didn’t say anything. The New York Times did their due diligence to an extent, but the Wall Street Journal hasn’t said a peep. At the end the day, all signs point to a severe injustice being done to an American citizen who acted out in self-defense, who is currently facing the possibility six years in a Swedish prison. We almost lost Gangsta Gibbs to this business. Let’s not lose another one.
