The Weeknd’s "Heartless" Performance Turns Trippy Backstage On "Colbert"

The Weeknd conducted a rather unconventional performance his new song, “Heartless,” on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Thursday night, where he was recently seen getting mobbed by a huge pack excited fans. Colbert introduces the singer in the usual manner, but when the camera pans to the right to reveal the part the set where the performance is supposed to take place, the band looks on helplessly as The Weeknd is nowhere to be found. Colbert, who is either genuinely confused or a better actor than we thought, appears back in frame looking as though he was not let in on the gag and has no idea what’s going on.

We then follow Colbert as he walks f stage, gesturing to someone out frame to handle this. A smooth tracking shot takes us in the opposite direction the host, and lands on Abelas he takes a sip his drink wearing his newly established signature uniform a red jacket, wide-lensed sunglasses, and black and white dress shoes, the same costume he sports in the music video for the song. Abel traverses the white-brick-walled stairwells and hallways the studio, trading his drink for a red mic with a nearby stagehand wearing a Bernie 2020 hat along the way, when he begins performing the hit song. The walls begin to move as the lights flicker and The Weeknd shows f some fancy footwork. Colbert employees surround him at times, completely unaffected by the shifting landscape their workplace. As far as live late night performances go, this is definitely one for the books. The Weeknd will appear on Colbert again Friday night, and if his performance  “Blinding Lights” is anything like this, we’re in for a ride.

Megan Thee Stallion & MoneyBagg Yo Are Officially Done With Each Other Online

It looks like things are ficially finished between Megan Thee Stallion and MoneyBagg Yo. After the rap game’s resident Hot Girl hinted during a freestyle that she was single, her man MoneyBagg Yo took the airwaves to refute the statement, saying that they were still doing well as a unit. People had their suspicions though. After all, why would Megan say that she’s not in a relationship if she actually is? It took some time but the internet’s detectives have ficially found evidence their split, pointing to social media statistics as pro that the couple is no longer together.

Perhaps trying to limit the amount content they each see involving their exes, it would appear as though MoneyBagg Yo and Megan Thee Stallion have unfollowed each other on social media. Of course, this doesn’t exactly spell out the fact that the two are broken up but it does mean that there’s some trouble in paradise. And, if we’re being honest, if both them feel strongly enough to erase the other’s online presence from their feeds, there’s a good chance it’s done.

No telling whether or not the couple plans to get back together. After Bagg was allegedly exposed the other day by a “clout chaser”, we’re thinking Meg may want to explore her options

R. Kelly Charged with Bribing Official to Marry Aaliyah

R. Kelly is facing a new allegation involving his 1994 marriage to Aaliyah.

According to federal docs, obtained by TMZ, prosecutors say that Kelly and others bribed an Illinois government employee in order to obtain a “fraudulent identification document” for Aaliyah.

The fake ID was used to obtain a marriage license that listed her age as 18, one of Kelly’s former tour managers, Demetrius Smith, revealed in Lifetime’s “Surviving R. Kelly” documentary. According to Smith, Aaliyah was only 15 at the time.

Prosecutors claim that the fake ID purchase constitutes bribery. The allegation has been added to the existing racketeering charge filed against Kelly in New York that accuses him of ually exploiting underage girls.

Kelly’s attorney, Doug Anton, has slammed the new allegation. “The charge is ridiculous and it smacks of the same desperation as the entire case,” he tells TMZ.

In an interview with “Good Morning America” earlier this year, another one of Kelly’s lawyers, Steven Greenberg, said Kelly had “no idea” Aaliyah was 15 when they married. “My understanding is that she did not claim to be 15, and in order to get married, she had to lie about her age,” said Greenberg.

Just this week, a Cook County, Ill. judge set a Sept. 14 trial date for Kelly, who is charged in four ual abuse cases in the area. The 52-year-old singer, who remains in federal custody, is scheduled to go on trial in Chicago in April, and the following month in New York for other ual abuse charges.

Jennifer Lopez Says Cocaine Queen Role Is A "Heavy Dose Of What A Woman Is Capable Of"

Jennifer Lopez always goes big in every project she does. Only recently was it revealed that she didn’t get paid to star in Hustlers and she also produced the film. “This is our movie where we run sh*t. They know it’s all women producers, woman director, woman writer, all women starring in it. We’ve been watching men take advantage women in movies for a long time, so it was a fun ride to see the tables turned,” she said her involvement.

The 50-year-old is now set to star as cocaine queen Griselda Blanco and she recently opened up to Variety about her role and whether she will take on the role director. “That’s one that I’m really thinking about maybe directing,” she said. “But again, I would need to have so much time to do that. It’s going to be a timing thing. I would have to clear, really clear decks. I could. And it’s just when the right time for that is.”

Jennifer compared her Hustlers appearance to that  Griselda as it showcases the more powerful, dominant side women. “Griselda Blanco was very much the same thing, where you get to see women being the badasses. You get to see them being ruthless,” she explained. “You get to see them being bad, but you also get to see that there’s two sides to them. We always got to see that from men.”

She added: “With] Griselda, you would get a super heavy dose what a woman is capable on a very ugly side. That would be interesting for people because it’s not been done, but also scary, intense for an actress. And a very delicate subject matter for a director. So I just feel like, again, it’s an intense project that I have to be ready to really go into.”

#DXCLUSIVE: Fake Four’s Chris Conde Dedicates "Conde Digital" EP To RZA

HipHopDX Premiere – Fake Four Inc. affiliate and the self-described “unabashedly queer” Chris Conde has returned with his new Conde Digital EP. As the title suggests, the project is dedicated to RZA who Conde recently met backstage at the Majestic & Empire Theatre in San Antonio, Texas.

During their encounter, the Wu-Tang Clan vet asked the Conde to drop eight bars — and he happily obliged.

“After that, I asked him to dub me Conde Digital,” Conde tells HipHopDX. “He smiled, laughed and seemed stoked that I was referencing his alias Bobby Digital, so he tapped both my shoulders with his fists and was like, ‘I dub you Conde Digital.’

“As I was leaving the dressing room, he shouted to me, ‘You better use that name ’cause I’ll be looking for it.’ I got the tiniest video before they told me I couldn’t shoot video [laughs].”

Produced entirely by Chris “KDeath” Martinez of Moodie Black, Conde Digital is another step toward Conde’s own self-discovery and healing.

After overcoming drug addiction and wrestling with his own internalized homophobia, Conde continues further down the same path of f self-reflection, exploring his personal struggles with depression, finances, romantic relationships and fear of acceptance.

“Being sober for over five years now, it’s easy to tell myself I shouldn’t struggle with this or that,” Conde said in a press release. “I realized how dangerous that was, so instead of beating myself up over those things, I brought all of the stuff I felt shame about into the light by turning them into songs.”

Conde Digital is exclusively available through Fake Four’s Bandcamp for now but will be available all streaming platforms in January.

Here’s how the KYRIE 6 breaks down, according to Nike

New

  • The Traction 360 grip helps keep Irving feeling quicker and more connected to the court. Micro textures on the top the forefoot extend that connection during extreme banking.
  • To enable Irving to play at top speed, the last is dropped 5mm closer to the court.
  • The KYRIE 6 features a plush foam, or optimum cushion, and a smooth underfoot feel at the heel.
  • The midfoot strap fers increased stability and arch support.

Familiar

  • Despite the aesthetic the new last, the curved outsole still provides Irving (and those who emulate him) banked traction to help with court grip whether banking, cutting or attacking the basket in drastic degrees.
  • The KYRIE 6 features the same articulated Nike Air Zoom Turbo unit in the forefoot as its predecessor, helping enable responsiveness at all directions.

Morrone also discussed her acting career and how she’s more than just Leonardo DiCaprio’s girlfriend: “I think more and more now that people are seeing the film, I’m slowly getting an identity outside that. Which is frustrating, because I feel like there should always be an identity besides who you’re dating. … I understand the association, but I’m confident that will continue to slip away and be less a conversation.”

Chris Paul Claims Daryl Morey Lied About Blockbuster Thunder Trade

Perhaps one the biggest trades the NBA fseason, aside from the Paul George deal, was the Chris Paul move which sent the point guard to Oklahoma City. There were rumors some tension between Paul and his Houston Rockets teammate, James Harden, so it wasn’t surprising that he was dealt so swiftly.

Now, Paul is playing on a Thunder team that doesn’t have much a chance at making it to the postseason. In a new interview with Marc J. Spears The Undefeated, Paul spoke about the trade from the Rockets and how GM Daryl Morey told him OKC wasn’t on the table. Of course, this turned out to be untrue.

Chris Paul Claims Daryl Morey Lied About Blockbuster Thunder Trade

Alex Goodlett/Getty s

“My initial reaction?” Paul asked. “I was shocked. Truth be told, I just talked to Daryl a couple days before the trade and he said he wasn’t going to trade me to Oklahoma City]. That’s funny because that is going to be the alert that pops up on everybody’s phone because nobody knows that. But what the hell, I just said it.”

Paul was ultimately traded for Russell Westbrook who is one James Harden’s favorite teammates from his Thunder days. For now, it seems like the trade has worked out for both teams, even if the results on the court have been an adjustment for Paul.
