50 Cent Details The Time Snoop Dogg Stole His Lamborghini As Payment

50 Cent is the King making sure he gets paid from his various borrowers that sometimes get publically shamed if they fail on paying him back on time. From 50’s case with Teairra Mari to his recent, more playful, case with Michael Blackson, it’s a known fact at this point to not mess with 50 Cent when it comes to his coin.

The “Many Men” rapper recently paid a visit to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and explained a time when tables had turned and it was none other than Snoop Dogg who had swiped him for a form payment. As the story goes, 50 Cent was performing at Barclays and Snoop was there and kindly fered to hop on stage to perform their collab “P.I.M.P.”

It wasn’t until after the show that 50 Cent noticed his ride was gone. “He went, walked by the car, saw the car, and… I don’t know if it was jealous feelings or something, but he went to the car and got in the car because the keys are in there,” 50 said Snoop. “Because you park inside the Barclays, and the guy that’s supposed to be the valet park, I said, ‘Where did the car go?’ And he said, ‘Snoop took the car.’ I said, ‘What?! How do you just let him take my car?'”

He added: “But later he made a tape saying that I owe him for the performance, because he feel like, ‘You got me performing for free and you got cars like this out here in the middle…’ He thought I tricked him into a performance, but he fered to perform.”

At the time, Snoop uploaded a video to his Instagram him committing the act. “50 Cent! I rapped on stage tonight with 50 Cent. I did ‘P.I.M.P.’ and he didn’t give me no money,” Snoop hilariously said in the video. “So I guess I’m gonna take his car and we gonna call it even. I need my money cuz. Matter fact, I don’t even want the money. I just want to drive this pretty muthafucka.”

Nate Diaz Lights Up Joint At UFC 241 Open Workout, Shares With Fans: Watch

Nate Diaz is back like he never left.

Ahead his clash with Anthony Pettis at UFC 241 this Saturday, Diaz pulled up to the open workout at the Honda Center in California with a fat joint in his mouth. As seen in the videos embedded below, Diaz took a few puffs before passing the joint to his videographer, who then assisted some fans in the front row.

“I said pass it around,” Diaz said, per ESPN. “It’s good etiquette, for sure.”

Diaz later explained that it was only CBD from his brother Nate’s line products with Game Up Nutrition. He’ll have to wait until after his co-main event scrap with Pettis before he can smoke the good stuff.

“I have to smoke the weed after the fight,” Diaz said with a laugh, per ESPN.

The 34-year old lightweight brawler has always been open about his marijuana use, including the time he vaped while conducting a press conference following a loss to Conor McGregor at UFC 202. That 2016 fight marks the last time that Diaz (19-11) has competed inside the octagon.

His opponent, Anthony Pettis, boasts a record 22-8, with a recent KO victory against Stephen Thompson in March.

Styles P & Wife Adjua To Join "Marriage Boot Camp": Report

On the second season the OWN network’s Black Love, rapper Styles P and his wife Adjua Styles were candid about their relationship. The couple has been married since 1995 and the 24 years that they’ve been husband and wife, they’ve weathered many storms. They were open and honest about Styles’ infidelity and tragically losing their 19-year-old daughter, Tai, after she committed suicide in 2015.

“We were extremely close,” Adjua told The Breakfast Club back in 2017. “I had her on the brink 19. When she committed suicide she was living on her own, and I feel within my heart that if I was around…I could’ve] been her safe haven.” Styles and Adjua also shared that recovering from such a tragedy together brought them closer.

If this latest report from theJasmineBRAND is true, then the world will be seeing more the Styles’ as they embark on a new reality television venture. The publication states that the couple is adding their names to the list WeTV Marriage Boot Camp cast members next season. There wasn’t any further information given as to what they may be hashing out during their time on the series or who they’ll be sharing camera time with, but we’re sure it’ll be an interesting cast t characters.

Travis Scott Is 100% Ready For Young Thug’s "So Much Fun" Album

Last week, Young Thug informed the world that his new album would be dropping in the very near future, giving us seven whole days to prepare for the madness. Now that we’re only a couple sleeps away from having So Much Fun with the rapper, people are starting to seriously get hyped. We’ve got another big release day coming up with Thugger, Quality Control, Snoop Dogg, A$AP Ferg and others all sharing this Friday as their drop dates. One man, who is very likely going to be featured on SMF, is already gearing up for the release, telling his fans to get ready to rage on Friday.

Travis Scott is currently in Italy celebrating his girlfriend Kylie Jenner’s birthday and in just a few hours, Young Thug‘s new album will be made available internationally all the regular streaming services. It’s Thursday right now for Trav (and the rest Italy) and he’s getting himself pumped for midnight. In the midst a blurry IG spam session, La Flame posted one photo with a clear caption, telling everybody about the upcoming project.

“‘So much fun’ at midnight. THE ALBUM,” he wrote. Some commenters mistook the post as an album announcement from Travis himself but clearly, they’re not up on Young Thug. Who else is excited for Friday?

Nicki Minaj Calls Out Rick Ross For "Apple Of My Eye" Diss During Joe Budden Podcast

New York, NY – Despite the explosive exchange between Nicki Minaj and Joe Budden on Queen Radio earlier this week, the self-proclaimed Queen of Rap showed up for a new episode of The Joe Budden Podcast on Wednesday (August 14).

During the conversation, Budden asked who was a better rapper, The Game or Rick Ross. The disgust in Nicki’s voice was immediately noticeable.

“Eww don’t bring up that piece of … don’t get me fucking started,” she replied. “Anybody that name drops a female to sell 250 albums, don’t ever bring them up to me again. So shout out to The Game. Game actually does know how to rap.

“I look at people being stand up niggas. I look at who fold quick and who do shit for attention and do clown shit for attention when they dropping an album and all that shit. I won’t even go there my nigga.”

But Nicki went there. Evidently she has a huge problem with Ross dissing her on the 2017 Rather You Than Me cut, “Apple Of My Eye.”

“I told Meek I wouldn’t trust Nicki/Instead of beefing with your dog you just give him some distance,” he rapped.

“When a grown ass fuckin’ man name drops a woman and disses a woman to sell an album,” Nicki continued. “When I was the only person in your artist [ex-boyfriend Meek Mill] corner when everybody turned their back on them, when everyone was calling them Twitter fingers and cracking up, laughing at them. And I’m the one?”

The soon-to-be-married superstar then recalled sitting down with President Obama to talk about Meek’s probation situation. Meek is signed to Ross’ label Maybach Music Group.

“I went and sat down with President Obama and Ross was there and texted dude after the meeting and said, ‘Yo, this chick is a keeper’ — I saw the text myself with my own eyes — ‘This chick’s a keeper. She went in a room full of rappers and spoke to Obama and the first thing out of her mouth was about you and figuring out your probation situation and why you’re still on probation after all these years.’

“Then you come put on an album when it’s time to sell some weak ass fuckin’ album and try to disrespect Nicki Minaj?’ Boy, sit your fat ass down.”

Elsewhere in the conversation, they once again talked about how Migos’ “MotorSport” came together and her Megan Thee Stallion collaboration “Hot Girl Summer.” Nicki accused Budden of propelling the notion she doesn’t support other women who rap.

“I am gonna take it personal if two times I did a song with a female you put out a narrative that wasn’t true, and then I said it’s not true, you still don’t believe me,” she said. “You have to understand that that there are people who are gonna believe you. Now they’re thinking this psycho bitch is just getting up on her platform lying … That’s why people have the narrative of Nicki and female rappers.”

JAY-Z’s Roc Nation and NFL Announce Partnership

The Roc and the NFL are teaming up.

JAY-Z’s Roc Nation is set to announce a “sweeping business partnership” with the NFL, according to Front Office Sports. A press conference is reportedly scheduled for Wednesday in New York.

The alliance would be a major move for both sides. Partnering with Roc Nation would help give the NFL more credibility with a younger, urban audience. Meanwhile, Roc Nation would benefit from its affiliation with the nation’s most powerful sports league as it looks to further expand into sports.

Roc Nation Sports is home to athletes including Saquon Barkley, who was the No. 2 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft by the New York Giants. Other sports clients include NFL stars Todd Gurley and Dez Bryant, NBA superstar Kyrie Irving, MLB pitcher CC Sabathia, and boxing champs Miguel Cotto and Andre Ward.

The NFL has faced controversy in recent years over how it handles players protesting racial and social justice, most notably with former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who took a knee during the national anthem.

In a show of support, JAY-Z reportedly declined a performance at the Super Bowl Halftime Show. “I said no to the Super Bowl: You need me, I don’t need you / Every night we in the endzone, tell the NFL we in stadiums to,” he rapped on The Carters’ hit “APESHIT.”

UPDATE: The New York Times has confirmed the partnership between Roc Nation and the NFL. As part of the deal, Roc Nation will be the NFL’s “live music entertainment strategist,” consulting on entertainment, including the Super Bowl halftime show, and contributing to the league’s social-justice program, Inspire Change, which donates money to groups fighting for criminal justice reform.

“The NFL has a great big platform, and it has to be all-inclusive,” said JAY-Z, who has been a critic of the league in the past. “They were willing to do some things, to make some changes, that we can do some good.”

As co-producer of the Super Bowl halftime show, JAY-Z will have a role in selecting and producing the country’s most-watched music performance. Black entertainers including JAY-Z and Rihanna have turned down the gig in the past in support of Kaepernick.

“We don’t want people to come in and necessarily agree with us; we want people to come in and tell us what we can do better,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. “I think that’s a core element of our relationship between the two organizations, and with JAY and I personally.”

Spotify Is Testing Smoother Hand-Offs Between Phones and Speakers

With competition between music streaming services continuing to intensify, Spotify is focusing on smooth peripheral hand-offs.

Spotify is now testing a new feature that will allow users to hand-off playback of music between two devices, such as a phone and a smart speaker system.

The feature works by first letting you select your favorite devices in the Spotify app.  Once you’ve done this, the Spotify app will track your proximity to these devices.  Then, when you’re close enough to a particular speaker, it will notify you and ask you if you want to hand-off playback to the nearby speaker.

So, for example, if you have selected your smart speaker system as your favorite device, you could conceivably hand-off playback of Spotify to it as soon as you get home, with (or without) a single click on your phone. This means that you will no longer have to dig through a menu of devices to manually switch playback.

So far, the feature is getting mixed results from those who have tested it.  Early testers are complaining that the feature, which has not yet been officially released, does not always provide notifications when it should.  Nor does it seem to work with all Spotify Connect devices.

Still, these same testers say that when the feature does work, it works well, and Spotify is likely to soon fix the flaws. So perhaps this feature is somewhere in the alpha/beta stage of development.

Actually, Spotify has been enabling handoffs for quite some time through Connect. In our testing with Raumfeld wifi-connected speakers, for example, hand-offs are pretty easy, though you have to manually move things around.  In fact, it’s unclear if proximity-based alerts and hand-offs are overkill, though consumers will ultimately answer that question.

Not to be outdone, Apple is also planning to implement a similar feature within the context of the long-awaited release of iOS 13, which is expected to go live sometime this fall.

The feature, which was announced earlier this year, will specifically allow you to switch playback of music from your iPhone or iPad to your HomePod.

Apple does have a decisive advantage if all of the devices are within its own ecosystem.  But non-Apple devices may present some challenges.

Jeezy Shouts “Fuck Trump” On Meek Mill-Featured "MLK BLVD"

Jeezy is inching closer to dropping TM104: The Legend of the Snowman, which he proclaimed will be his final album.

Ahead of the August 23 release date, the Snowman has unleashed another snippet of the project in the form of “MLK BLVD” featuring Meek Mill.

The veteran rapper made the announcement with an Instagram video on Tuesday (August 13) with a simple “SnowMan Back” in the caption.

Throughout the track, Jeezy is in top form as he sets his sights on Donald Trump.

“You get that dirty money, best to wash it/Just keep your eyes out for them false prophets/This nigga talkin’ like he Ye or somethin’/That nigga must be off that yay or somethin’/Heard what I said, nigga, fuck Trump/Say it again, nigga, fuck Trump,” he spits.

In March, Jeezy claimed TM104 will bring his discography to a close.

“As the Cold Summer tour comes to a end,” he tweeted. “It was inspiring seeing my day one fans since my first album & class TM 101 come out every night. Now class is coming to a end. It’s time for Graduation! My Last Album & Final Class: TM104 -#TrustYaProcess.”

TM104 will serve as the follow-up to 2017’s Pressure and final installment of the Thug Motivation series.

Bow Wow Watches Old Home Movies From The Beloved "Lil" Era

Bow Wow‘s antics have become somewhat beloved, albeit reluctantly, by the hip-hop community. Yet for many, the triumphant run his “Lil” counterpart might feel like ancient history. In a way, it was. Lil Bow Wow first rose to prominence in 2000 with his debut album Beware Of Dog. Though child rappers weren’t entirely uncommon, Lil Bow Wow was a cut above the rest, perhaps thanks to the tutelage veteran artists Jermaine Dupri and his Uncle Snoop Doggy Dogg.

In any case, Lil Bow Wow quickly became a fan favorite, particularly among the demographic girls his same age. The combination mildly infectious hits and a legion young pre-teen admirers helped secure him his first BET Award, a moment immortalized through a recently shared Instagram clip. “1st ever to win it!” reflects an older Bow Wow, in the accompanying caption. “I remember telling jd to stand up before they was done announcing the nominees. i knew i had it in the bag!”

The clip is memorable for a variety reasons. For one, Jermaine Dupri being seemingly trapped in an eternal cycle tepid applause. Second, Bow Wow’s hair, a relic the times no doubt. And three, Bow Wow’s courageously confident decision to shout out Jay-Z at the end his acceptance speech. It’s a testament to a simpler time, long before our hero found himself cast out from the Tycoon Weekend festivities. Do you have any love for Bow Wow, Lil or otherwise?

GoDigital Pumps $40 Million Into Cinq Music for an Even Bigger IP Shopping Spree

The time to purchase massive amounts of music-related IP is now.

Hipgnosis isn’t the only one making massive bets on music IP.  Just this morning, GoDigital Media Group pumped $40 million into its subsidiary, Cinq Music, for publishing and recording asset purchases.  Cinq also indicated that it will use the funding to stretch further internationally.

The move follows an earlier injection of $20 million back in 2017, which helped to secure rights to a number of highly-valued T.I. albums.  Cinq also inked a global recording and distribution pact with Janet Jackson and her Rhythm Nation Records imprint.

Fun stuff, though Cinq is easily getting outbid for choice catalogs — if they’re even bidding — and valuations keep going up. That would partly explain the newfound $40 million tranche, which GoDigital is classifying as a ‘Series C’ round.

It’s unclear if any other investors besides umbrella company GoDigital are involved in this ‘funding,’ though we’ve reached out to GoDigital Chairman and CEO Jason Peterson for clarification.

In terms of what’s being eyed, Cinq is keeping its cards close to the vest.

Barry Dafurn, Cinq’s President, only pointed to “some very exciting projects that we can’t wait to show the world”.

The Santa Monica, CA-based GoDigital, which is a holding company focused on “technology enabled intellectual property rights management,” traverses IP acquisition, distribution, and collection and counts Cinq Music among several properties.  Sister companies include VidaPromo, LatidoMusic, AdShare, and ContentBridge, with Peterson first creating the umbrella firm in 2005.

Incidentally, one of Peterson’s longtime connections is No Limit boss Master P, who is now President of Urban Music for Cinq Music.

Meanwhile, recording and publishing IP continues to look like the new oil, though challenges certainly remain.  Investors in this space continue to tell DMN about difficulties extracting value, thanks to the inanities of royalty accounting and collection.  Indeed, there are now potentially dozens of companies and firms dedicated to solving one or several pieces of this puzzle, though working through difficult metadata challenges, misreporting and outright theft remain expensive and time-consuming challenges.

Separately, a dark cloud of copyright trolling is now hanging on the horizon. Just this week, Lady Gaga for a somewhat ridiculous melody match. The claim might seem frivolous, except when the recent, suffered by Katy Perry, Dr. Luke, Max Martin, and Capitol Records is considered.

All of that increases the risk of litigation around well-known catalogs, potentially lowering valuations over the long term.
