Juicy J Announces "Three 6 Mafia Reunion Tour" With DMX & Bone Thugs-N-Harmony

Juicy J told the world he and DJ Paulwould eventually come to terms, and by the looks it, that’s exactly what has seemingly transpired behind closed doors. The founding fathers the Memphis Slap will be joining forces for what is being billed as The Return Of Three 6 Mafia or as Juicy J put it: The “THREE 6 MAFIA REUNION TOUR!”

As yet, Juicy and DJ Paul have only revealed one tour stop: at the Landers Center in Southaven, Mississippi, the home to the Memphis Grizzlies’ G League affiliate the Memphis Hustle. Although Juicy appears to have misquoted himself, by encircling an August 23rd date for the concert, the tour poster says otherwise, indicating “October 12th.”

As indicated by Juicy’s Insta posting, the reunion tour will not only comprise key members the Hypnotized Minds camp (Gangsta Boo, Crunchy Black, Project Pat, Lil Wyte & La Chat) in supporting roles but the supplemental aid DMX and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, among others. Mind you, the loaded lineup could possibly reflect an initial draw (for the Southaven gig on October 12th) and not the company they will keep for the remainder the tour. I certainly hope I’m wrong and this roster retains its shape.

Charlamagne Tha God Calls Out The NFL For Editing His Questions, Supports Jay Z

A polarizing topic that has permeated social media this week has been the announcement that Roc Nation and the NFL have joined forces. There has been much speculation as to what moves Jay Z will be making with the league in this upcoming year, but on Friday, news circulated that the hip hop mogul would soon become part-owner an NFL team.

The NFL’s Commissioner, Roger Goddell, sat down with Jay Z and various reporters to discuss the partnership, and in the room was The Breakfast Club‘s Charlamagne Tha God. In a leaked clip, Charlamagne questions Jay and asks him about Kaepernick’s future in the NFL. However, the talk show host took to his Instagram to share that there were many other topics that he directly asked Goddell that were carefully cut.

“Let the record show the @nfl edited all my questions to Roger Goodell,” he began. “I asked Goodell was Kaep blackballed and he said ‘No, owners can sign him whenever they want.’ I also asked him about people saying this partnership is disingenuous because Kaep doesn’t have a job, and I told him the best PR move the @NFL could do is to sign Kaep but all that’s on the cutting room floor somewhere but this post isn’t about me, it’s about the conversation being had. Like I said In a previous post…..Kaep’s protest worked and continues to work. Awareness has been raised and after awareness comes action.”

I asked Goodell was Kaep blackballed and he said “No, owners can sign him whenever they want.” I also asked him about people saying this partnership is disingenuous because Kaep doesn’t have a job, and I told him the best PR move the @NFL could do is to sign Kaep but all that’s on the cutting room floor somewhere but this post isn’t about me, it’s about the conversation being had. Like I said In a previous post…..Kaep’s protest worked and continues to work. Awareness has been raised and after awareness comes action. In order to be successful and sustain any process meaningful change both awareness and action are necessary. I don’t see why anyone would think Jay is doing this for any reason other than he thinks he can make a real change. Has he not shown us he knows how to move in a room full vultures? NFL shady it needs to be taken over! It may work, it may not work but why root against it when so many brothers playing in the league and communities they care about can benefit from it? If not this way then what’s the plan?? We don’t have to have the same course action we just need to have the same goal but don’t listen to me tho!!!!!! I have on a #PaperPlane hat with a #ImWithKaep t shirt right now so I can’t be trusted……

He added that regardless the backlash that Jay has been receiving for this deal, he’s going to stand by the rapper’s power move. “In order to be successful and sustain any process meaningful change both awareness and action are necessary,” he wrote. “I don’t see why anyone would think Jay is doing this for any reason other than he thinks he can make a real change. Has he not shown us he knows how to move in a room full vultures?” Charlamagne’s question is a direct nod to Jay’s hot song, “Izzo (H.O.V.A.),” as is his follow up sentence. “NFL shady it needs to be taken over!”

Wyclef Jean Shares Story Of Notorious B.I.G. Calling The Fugees "Geniuses"

In his short, 24 years life, Christopher “Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace impacted hip hop with his talents in a way that has been unmatched. The former Fugees member chatted with The Source about one his many memories Big, one which was at a time when the Fugees were a lesser-known opening act for the rapper. “I remember coming from Jersey and going to Long Island where he was playing,” Wyclef said. “We get there, and I remember Biggie coming to the dressing room because — ok, there was a myth about the Fugees: don’t play with the Fugees because, if they go before you, nine times out 10 we’ll murder it Laughs]! What I would always do with the performer that I’m playing before is do 20 seconds their songs.”

“So yeah, we did a show with Biggie and Puff, and I remember — Puffy knows this story, too!” he said while laughing. “They were amazed because they had never saw anything like that. Biggie comes in the dressing room and was like, ‘Man, you motherf*ckers go out there and y’all be bangin’ them symbols and sh*t! This sh*t is just not fair Laughs]! Y’all motherf*ckers are geniuses – I wish I could play the instruments!’”

Snoop Dogg Talks Aging Gracefully In Rap: "I Ain’t That Young Fly Rapper No More"

Arguably, Snoop Dogg‘s recent release I Wanna Thank Me is one his best records the last decade. The rapper dropped his 17th studio album early Friday morning and almost immediately, the rave reviews began to pour in. The Long Beach, California native made sure to stay true to his West Coast sound that has served him well throughout his career, but he managed to create something new that all generations his fans could enjoy.

The veteran rapper also made sure that woven into the boastful lyrics  I Wanna Thank Me was a message unity in street culture. This was prompted by the untimely and tragic death  Crenshaw rapper Nipsey Hussle who was gunned down in front his Marathon Clothing store in March. “It’s like I’m always filling a void,” Snoop shared with Billboard about his latest effort. With nearly three decades under his belt in the industry, Snoop said he needed to assess his next moves carefully.

“I was thinking to myself, ‘Where do I fit in the rap game?'” he stated. “I ain’t that young, fly rapper no more. I’m like a great uncle to a lot these rappers now. They’re sending me songs and trying to be a part this too, so I’ve got to welcome that because they’re the future. They’re the ones who control the game right now. And for them to want to do records with me keeps me relevant, keeps me still in the realm when young kids hear my voice instead ‘Who is that old-ass man rapping?! He needs to sit down somewhere with a cane, rest in peace.’ Hell no to the no no no!”

It’s difficult to believe that anyone would dismiss Snoop’s talents just because his age, but the rapper takes it in stride and recognizes he has a new mission. “I also have to educate, elevate and innovate all at the same time,” he said. “Before rap, 50 was young as a musician. But once rap came in there was a cap on the age, like you can only be 30 and then you’re considered old and washed up. Nah … LL Cool J, Ice Cube, Will Smith, there’s a lot brothers who penetrated that world and diversified their portfolio by doing things other than rap. But rap is their foundation. And I wear it well. I got my OGs like Ice-T and Dr. Dre who look good at 50. They let me know that I can roll with it and do what I’ve got to do.”

Teen Rapper Allegedly Kills 9-Year-Old While Shooting At Rap Rival

Nine-year-old Brandoniya Bennett was sleeping on the couch her Roseland Townhome in Dallas, Texas. There was nothing out the ordinary about that day, aside from the fact that 19-year-old rapper Tyrese Simmons was in the area searching for his foe. According to police, Simmons was upset because fellow rapper, 17-year-old Benny Fountain, dissed him in a song lyric during a rap battle. Witnesses at the Roseland Townhomes stated that they saw Simmons lurking around the property, telling his rival to come outside.

However, the person he was shouting for told Simmons that he wasn’t going to meet him. The refusal infuriated Simmons who began firing at the building toward the home he believed Fountain to be in, without rhyme or reason. During the melee, young Brandoniya was struck and killed. Emergency responders reportedly did all that they could to save the little girl but she would later lose her life at Baylor University Hospital.

“When one family hurts, we all hurt,” said community activist Maurice Ash. “The whole community hurts. The saddest thing is that my daughter will never be able to get to know this young girl. This will never happen because her life was cut down, cut short because senseless gun violence.”

Simmons was identified in a news conference and later turned himself into police. He is being held on $500K bond and is facing a capital murder charge.

Aaron Rodgers Offers Praise & Concern After Lamar Jackson’s Heroics

Lamar Jackson is one the more exciting young quarterbacks in the NFL right now thanks to his skills at running the football whenever he has the chance. While he might not be the passer, Jackson has created some highlight-reel plays and moving forward, the Ravens will be an exciting team to watch because him. On Thursday night, Jackson showed f what makes him so great while playing against the Green Bay Packers. “If I am out there in the open field, one on one, I have to make you miss,” Jackson said according to ESPN. “That’s just me. That’s how I always played. If I get tackled by one person, I am mad. I feel like I lost that play, could have gained more yards, could have probably scored. I don’t know. If I am not passing, if I do decide to run, I am trying to score a touchdown or get a first down. I am not trying to get two yards and get tackled. That’s not how I play.”

If you’re a Ravens fan, you have to like what you see so far.

Brian McKnight’s Children Call Him Out For Being A Neglectful Father

He’s responsible for some our favorite R&B love ballads from the 1990s, and undeniably there are quite a few people who were conceived to his songs. Brian McKnight is the poster child for romance as his hits have become tunes that couples have used for their weddings and intimate moments, but the singer’s children have publicly shared that his wholesome image isn’t their truth.

In 1990, McKnight married his college sweetheart, Julie McKnight. The couple went on to have three children together before divorcing in 2003. In 2017 he married Dr. Leilani Malia Mendoza after being coupled up for three years. For the most part, there haven’t been any public scandals involving McKnight’s family as they’ve kept a low prile, however, yesterday McKnight’s son and daughter, Brian McKnight Jr.—or BJ—and Briana McKnight, vocalized their abandonment issues on Instagram regarding the absence their father.

BJ wrote that his father has neglected his children and grandchildren:

I can’t imagine abandoning my children man. Its hard not to imagine the psyche a man who can truly just turn his back on his actual sons, on his actual blood, and creations. It’s mind boggling to me. I don’t think there is any situation that merits the way my father has chosen to treat my brother, my sisters, and his grandchildren, one which being his first born’s, first born son, who also bares our name. It’s insane to me. To have absolutely no empathy for the type life be introduced us to, only to become to resent us for that life catching up with us. It breaks my heart, but not for myself, specifically for my siblings, and my children. They don’t deserve this at all, not open bit. And I’m not letting shit slide, not for one second. I’ve tried my best to take the high road, and be the bigger man, and all that positive shit, but there is a much bigger issue here, when it comes to black fathers, especially in entertainment that needs to be addressed. I believe there is a serious discussion that needs to be had, and A part me truly feels like our story is the one to begin the conversation that will lead to healing a lot young men, and woman with abandonment issues. It’s time to tell our side the story.

Briana echoed her brother’s sadness by sharing that felt as if she was “second place in my father’s heart”:

‘Daddy’s little girl’ was never really a thing for me. Nobody understands what I’ve been through except for my siblings. Believe it or not, I’m not always the person I seem to be. I’m not always happy and most the time I’m battling my own demons just like everyone else. I grew up thinking that the things that happened to me and my dad’s relationship was my fault. I grew up thinking that he doesn’t want to come to visit me because he doesn’t love me. Constantly put behind other kids that he would call his own while I’m cast into a land far far away in the back his mind. It sucks knowing that someone else, who’s not even blood related to you comes before you in every single way. It sucks knowing that my phone calls have to go through a stranger I barely know, that my text messages are read without a response, and that my stepmother tells me that they ‘wish the best for me’. It kills me to know that it’s so hard for me and my siblings to get a word in. Not one word. At a very young age, I was always second place in my father’s heart. Maybe even third, fourth, or fifth, depending on the situation. My father hasn’t called to wish me a ‘happy birthday’ in years and yet I sit by the phone every single year hoping that one day his heart will change. I’m so fortunate that I have two brothers who are father figures to me. Who celebrate me and love me every single day and that we make up the time that we lost. The anger and the sadness that I hold in my heart every day over this is sickening. It hurts knowing that my brothers went through this at my age (and are still going through it) and that my little sister is going through this at her young age. I don’t usually write things like this but I feel like enough is enough and like BJ, I want to share my side the story. I hope that there’s someone out there that has gone or is going through the same thing. Some teenage girl who deals with this shit constantly who can relate to me and tell her side the story and know that she’s not alone.

McKnight has not responded to either one his children’s allegations publicly, but hopefully, they can rectify their relationships.

Marlon Wayans On "Cancel Culture" As A Comedian: "We’re Supposed To Speak Our Voice"

Canceling a celebrity or public figure based on their questionable or unpopular opinion is something we’ve heard many times in the last few months alone. While there’s always an argument for both sides – such as Daniel Caesar’s recent controversial moment –  comedian Marlon Wayans has discussed such scenarios further and how his role as a jokester is to discuss such issues and shed light on them in a comical way. Case in point, the whole “cancel culture” is something the 47-year-old isn’t fearful .

“My job is to talk about all the things people are scared to say,” the White Chicks actor told BuzzFeed. “My job is to go into these dark topics and go in these dark caves and come out with this elixir called ‘the laugh.’”

“Social media alerts the media, which then tells the message that everybody should be as sensitive about every topic, but that’s not true,” he explained. “Comedians, we’re supposed to speak our voice and we’re supposed to find what’s funny. That’s my job. It’s like telling a fireman, ‘You can’t go into that burning building.’ Well, how am I gonna save lives?”

Marlon called out comedy clubs for doing such things as recording acts before the joke is perfected for a wider audience. “It takes about a year to two years to get that joke good enough to where you’re gonna wanna say it out loud in a special. We say dumb shit in order to say smart shit,” he said. “But it takes time, and so the audience has to give us that time to work on the material before we present it to you in a special. And then you can judge.”
