Damian Lillard Takes Jab At Russell Westbrook In Latest IG Post

Damian Lillard won the battle and the war against Russell Westbrook on Tuesday night and today he added the cherry on top.

Lillard posted a message on Instagram moments ago that is certainly directed at OKC’s All Star point guard. The post, which contains several images from last night’s Game 5 victory, includes the following quote from Sun Tzu’s “The Art War.”

“It is the unemotional, reserved, calm, detached warrior who wins, not the hothead seeking vengeance and not the ambitious seeker fortune.”

Lillard outplayed Westbrook throughout the brief, five game series, including last night where he went f for 50 points, seven rebounds and six assists with the series-clinching game-winner to boot.

In regards to his on-court battle with Westbrook, specifically the way Russ likes to show up his opponents, Lillard recently told Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes:

“I’m not even paying attention to it,” Lillard told Yahoo Sports. “But when I do see it, that’s cool. He does it every game, so it doesn’t bother me. I don’t celebrate in someone’s face and try to disrespect my opponent. But if a team calls a timeout, I’ll go acknowledge the crowd and celebrate with my teammates as I’m going to the bench. I’m not going to say some wild s—. I think with him, he’s pounding his chest and talking s— and that’s what gets him going. That’s the difference between us.”

Lillard and the Blazers will now take on the winner the Nuggets-Spurs series in the second-round the NBA playfs. The Nuggets lead that series 3-2 heading into Game 6 in San Antonio on Thursday.

XXXTentacion’s Mother Teases New Single With Stefflon Don & Vybz Kartel

XXXTentacion’s mother Cleopatra Bernard has been keeping her son’s legacy alive after the genre-bending rapper was killed at the young age 20-years-old last year. The Florida-based superstar was on the verge achieving big things in the music industry but unfortunately, his life ended suddenly and tragically when he was murdered outside a motorsports store. Since his passing, we’ve heard several new songs with his previously-recorded vocals including Lil Pump’s “Arms Around You,” Lil Wayne’s “Don’t Cry” and “Scared Of The Dark” from the Spider-Man soundtrack. It appears as though a new song will soon be released because Cleo has started teasing the arrival a major collaboration between X, Stefflon Don, Vybz Kartel and Ky-Mani Marley.

Damian Lillard’s Sister Storms Court After Game-Winner: "That’s My Brother"

The sports world has been consumed by the game-winning heroics Damian Lillard who helped his Portland Trail Blazers advance to the second round the playfs. Lillard hit a last-second three-point shot over the head Paul George the Oklahoma City Thunder. It was a beautiful shot that will stand the test time as one the most iconic series-winning shots all-time. Since the shot, there have been plenty memes surround Lillard who even declared that he would put the series away, earlier in the week

When Lillard hit the shot, there was a huge celebration on the court and even some the fans were involved. Those sitting courtside ended up being a part the pileup on Lillard and one those people was his sister. La’nae Lillard was sitting courtside and took a video herself celebrating after the shot went in.

“THAT’S MY BROTHER! THAT’S MY MOTHER F**KING BROTHER!” she screamed as the entire Trail Blazers bench rushed to congratulate Lillard on his huge shot.

Now that the Trail Blazers have made it to the second round, they will have to wait for the winner the Denver Nuggets and San Antonio Spurs series.

Lil Dicky Details Adventure At Leonardo DiCaprio’s Manor: "We Played Pickle Ball"

It’s been a minute since Dicky stopped by Sway In The Morning to chop it up with his old pal. Off the bat, the bromance between Sway Calloway and Lil Dicky is evident; it’s no surprise, given that LD shut it down with some bars during his last appearance. “When I look at you, I see sweetness,” introduces Sway, this time around. Lil Dicky smiles, and responds “hey, I’ll take it.” He proceeds to outline his adventure in crafting “Earth,” which found him sitting down in Leonardo DiCaprio’s manor for a meeting the minds. At this, Sway can barely control his glee.

“He fered me a seat, he fered me a drink,” details Dicky. “It was a different type water. The right kind water. We sat, and there was a beautiful view, and we talked about the Earth. He literally cares so much about it. He gets worked up just talking to me about it. Then we played ‘pickle ball.’ It’s like a mini-tennis game. He’s very competitive.” Sway proceeds to cut to the heart the matter. “Did you use the bathroom?” Lil Dicky affirms that yes, he did. “It was one those cool toilets,” he adds. “It flushed itself.”

Heather chimes in, reminding Sway that “his butt is the sensor.” When Sway is shocked that Dicky would dare drop a deuce at the DiCaprio manor, Dicky quickly realigns the narrative. “I pee sitting down,” he admits. “You didn’t know that?”

The Game Admits Bloods Beefed With Him For Taking Nipsey Hussle On Tour

Los Angeles, CA – The Game is continuing his #OneNipPostADay initiative on Instagram and this time, he’s diving into his past with the Bloods. In another lengthy caption, Mr. Los Angeles Confidential recalled taking Nip on tour and the consequences he suffered as a result.

“Had hella fights & fell out with 1/2 my hood the time I took you on tour,” Game explains. “Most niggas I still ain’t cool wit to this day. A young blood nigga from the westside of Compton bringing a gang of rollin 60’s crips on tour was doing the most. I had to explain daily to my homies, how it was bigger than Compton, bigger than LA & that having that state of mind would only get us so far in this shit.

“My niggas that stayed down with me saw my vision come into fruition & the niggas who didn’t get it then & still don’t now are somewhere mad & bitter as fuck with nothing but hate in their heart because we kept it moving & made our union BIGGER THAN LIFE.”

Had hella fights & fell out with 1/2 my hood the time I took you on tour. Most niggas I still ain’t cool wit to this day. I had to explain daily to my homies, how it was bigger than Compton, bigger than LA & that having that state of mind would only get us so far in this shit… My niggas that stayed down with me saw my vision come into fruition & the niggas who didn’t get it then & still don’t now are somewhere mad & bitter as fuck with nothing but hate in their heart because we kept it moving & made our union BIGGER THAN LIFE. Nip used to hit the stage & perform and nobody would really be into it because like any new artist, people don’t know your music or aren’t familiar with your face so the 1st time you touch the stage they just stare at you waiting to see what energy you put out before they give theirs back. He started off a lil hesitant but he did his thing & then came off stage after his set & said “Chuck, these niggas don’t fuck wit my shit”. I would say in return “Naw, nigga.. these are Game fans & they just know you or the music yet but watch in a couple shows when you get comfortable, you gone kill it”. I told my nigga the same thing happened to me when @snoopdogg took me on tour, u just gotta push through bro. We were in Dallas, Texas then. Next night we in Houston & I told him before he went on “Tonite, just go out there close ya eyes & spit that shit from ya heart as if nobody was in the crowd” & then open your eyes & I bet you see a a difference. 20 min later, he came off stage smiling big as hell & said “I got these niggas now Chuck, I know what to do”. From that moment on, my nigga had everything he needed to push forward & put everything into motion for himself & look at what he became.. Look at what he did, was able to accomplish for his people & this was only the beginning. The world didn’t know what was to come in the next couple months & the plans he had to expand from Crenshaw & Slauson to other neighboring hoods, cities etc.. They took my nigga way 2 early & that’s what hurts the most #OneNipPostADayTiliFadeAway 🏁

A post shared by The Game (@losangelesconfidential) on

Game continued by describing what it was actually like being on the road with the late Grammy Award-nominated rapper. He remembered what it was like when Nip was just getting started and the frustration that often came along with being a then-unknown artist.

“Nip used to hit the stage & perform and nobody would really be into it because like any new artist, people don’t know your music or aren’t familiar with your face so the 1st time you touch the stage they just stare at you waiting to see what energy you put out before they give theirs back,” he writes. “He started off a lil hesitant but he did his thing & then came off stage after his set & said ‘Chuck, these niggas don’t fuck wit my shit.’

“I would say in return ‘Naw, nigga.. these are Game fans & they just know you or the music yet but watch in a couple shows when you get comfortable, you gone kill it.’”

As The Game went on, he compared Nip’s situation to his own experience touring with Snoop Dogg several years ago. He marveled at Nip’s perseverance and willingness to learn.

“I told my nigga the same thing happened to me when @snoopdogg took me on tour, u just gotta push through bro,” he says. “We were in Dallas, Texas then. Next night we in Houston & I told him before he went on ‘Tonite, just go out there close ya eyes & spit that shit from ya heart as if nobody was in the crowd’ & then open your eyes & I bet you see a a difference. 20 min later, he came off stage smiling big as hell & said ‘I got these niggas now Chuck, I know what to do.’

“From that moment on, my nigga had everything he needed to push forward & put everything into motion for himself & look at what he became.. The world didn’t know what was to come in the next couple months & the plans he had to expand from Crenshaw & Slauson to other neighboring hoods, cities etc.. They took my nigga way 2 early & that’s what hurts the most.”

Nip was shot and killed on March 31 in front of his Marathon Clothing store in South L.A. In the wake of his death, the outpouring of love and support has been insurmountable.

As of earlier this month, the intersection of Slauson and Crenshaw where the murder occurred has been renamed Nipsey Hussle Square in his honor.

Drake Jokes About His “Curse” Following Toronto Raptors Playoff Victory

Toronto, ON – The proverbial “Drake curse,” which is apparently activated after Drake pledges his allegiance to a sports team, has become a thing in collegiate and professional athletics — and Mr. Graham himself knows this.

Naturally, as a Toronto native, Drizzy was front and center to witness the Raptors defeat the Orlando Magic 115-96 at home in Game 5 of the NBA Playoffs at the Scotiabank Arena on Tuesday (April 23).

Raptors players Kyle Lowry, Kawhi Leonard and Pascal Siakam assisted in leading the team to a huge early lead, translating into a playoff win when normally his support translates into a loss.

The triumph was met with the globally known superstar making light of his alleged whimsical jinx.

“You want me to talk about the curse or you guys good?” Drizzy reportedly asked the media as he made his way out the arena.

Tales of the “Drake curse” began with his unwavering support of the University of Alabama, who subsequently lost against Clemson University ahead of the 2019 National Championship football game. The Degrassi star also gets the blame for Serena Williams 2015 glaring defeat against Roberta Vinci in the U.S. Open semifinals.

It’s become such an anomaly that Italian soccer team Roma banned their footballers from snapping pictures with the OVO star.

Asian Doll Is Now Known As Asian Da Brat

Best known for her association with Gucci Mane (as well as being confused for the other “Dolls” in the rap game), the Dallas-born 1017 Records’ first lady Asian Doll has officially changed her name to Asian Da Brat.

The new moniker owes its origin to Atlanta-based veteran Da Brat, the first female rapper to release a platinum-certified album with 1994’s Funkdafied.

Khalid Performs His Chart-Topping Hits At Time 100 Gala, Gets Praised By Taylor Swift

Khalid recently became the first artist to secure the top five spots on the R&B Songs Chart and it’s for that reason and more why the singer was an honouray performer at the Time 100 Gala. The Free Spirit music maker sang a collection his hits, including “Location,” “Talk,” and “Young Dumb and Broke.” While he was there, fellow Time 100 artist Taylor Swift had nothing but praise for Khalid, calling herself a “huge Khalid fan” adding that, “if you haven’t listened to his new album Free Spirit, that’s a real loss. That’s a real missed opportunity.”

Among Khalid’s chart-topping success he’s received even more kind words from some the greats in the industry. More recently none other than Alicia Keys praised the singer for his talents calling him “totally unique.”

“He’s a beautiful writer with the ability to take human concepts and make you understand and feel them. He has a full, powerful voice that is somehow unassuming and smooth at the same time,” she added. “He’s accessible—almost like you’ve met somebody like him before, although there’s nobody else like him. He has his own style, and I think we’re all hungry for individuality right now.”

Hasan Minhaj Calls Out "Saudi-Loyalist" Jared Kushner At The TIME 100 Gala

It’s no secret that Donald Trump and his aides refuse to backpedal on the country’s foreign policy with Saudi Arabia. When news came to light pitting the Saudi Crown Prince (MBS) as the main architect behind the murder a world renown journalist, Donald Trump didn’t shy away from the topic. Quite the contrary, Trump acknowledged Mohammad Bin Salman’s culpability in the murder while altogether refusing to allow it to interfere with US-Saudi relations. The president didn’t see any point in muddying up US foreign policy with a Saudi oil exception hanging in the balance.

Then out nowhere, the US press learned that Trump’s son-in-law was acting as a liaison between him and Mohammad Bin Salman, as illustrated in a series Whatsapp conversations – a breach conduct no different than his dalliances with the Russian intelligence community. When it came time to address the issue publicly, Jared Kushner was left to his own devices. “Look, I’m not going to dispute American intelligence services’ recommendations. I’m also not going to talk about anything intelligence-related,” Kushner said at a TIME Magazine 100 forum taking place before yesterday’s gala event.

Coincidentally, Loujain al-Hathloul, a political activist imprisoned by the Saudi Kingdom was among the 100 global figures celebrated at last night’s gala, as introduced by Hasan Minhaj. The comedian took it upon himself to plead for al-Hathloul’s release from prison with known-Saudi loyalist Jared Kursner in attendance. His pointed message went a little something like this.

“I know there’s a lot very powerful people here, and it would be crazy if there was a high ranking ficial in the White House that could Whatsapp MBS and say, ‘Hey maybe you could help that person get out prison because they don’t deserve it,'” Minhaj said. “But hey, that person would have to be in the room. It’s just a good comedy premise.”

Once the gala came to a close, Hasan Minhaj admitted to TIME that he was being sincere in his request towards Kurshner, due to the power vested in him by the White House. This was one moment where Minhaj’s Patriot Act but touched on real political lines. Much respect is due.

Jusuf Nurkic Takes Parting Shot At Russell Westbrook After Game 5

Portland Trail Blazers big man Jusuf Nurkic was in the building when Damian Lillard hit that epic, series-clinching three-point bomb over Paul George on Tuesday night – but only because he decided to drive himself to the arena during the third quarter.

Nurkic, who was averaging career-high across the board before he suffered a season-ending leg injury on March 26, told reporters after the game that he “was in pain” watching the game from home and just had to be at the Moda Center with his teammates.

The Bosnian Beast made sure to wear his “Got Bricks? Next Question” t-shirt as a parting jab at Russell Westbrook, who he has trolled throughout the series.

“I was in pain watching the game,” Nurkic joked with Kevin Calabro and Lamar Hurd on the NBC Sports broadcast after the game. “By the end the third quarter, I was like f*** it, excuse my French, I’m gonna go out there and show up and I knew if I showed up, we were going to win this game. I had zero doubt.”

“It meant a lot. I had seen him earlier today; he was at the practice facility. He was getting a lift in and some rehab. I was like, ‘when you gonna come to a game?’  He was like, ‘I’m not ready yet,’ so, when I looked and saw him I was like, man it must’ve looked bad on TV for him to leave his house in the middle third quarter and drive all the way out here,” CJ McCollum joked postgame.

The Blazers now await the winner the Denver Nuggets-San Antonio Spurs series. The Nuggets lead that series 3-2 heading into Thursday night’s Game 6 in San Antonio.

Khalid Claps Back After Someone Says He Turned His Back On His Hometown

If you don’t acknowledge the charity work you’ve done in your city, people will automatically assume that you’re not doing anything to help out and that’s wrong. There are people, like Khalid, who prefer not to publicize all the philanthropic work they’ve done, keeping that type information to himself and those that he has helped. With all the resources that the R&B superstar has at this point, you’ve got to believe that he’s been trying to assist in areas where he can, funding charities close to his heart and launching foundations in his hometown, but still, somebody felt like trying him on Twitter today.

When one person tweeted that Khalid has taken advantage underground community support, stolen people’s money in El Paso and never done anything note in his community, the singer rightfully put them down. “Actually, I created a foundation that supports music & schools in underserved communities,” he began. “It starts in El Paso and my goal is to provide resources and help bridge education and prominent music programs in the city. I’m giving 30,000 in scholarships next month.”

That’s not all he’s done though. He felt a need to continue in another post. “I’ve donated a shit load money in El Paso, and these past two christmas’ I have came and personally handed out Christmas gifts to kids in the city as well,” he explained.

Khalid doesn’t necessarily need to clarify what he’s done in his community. However, he felt a need to let everybody know that he’s not playing around and that he really does rep the 915.

Damian Lillard’s Series-Winning Stare Sparks Hilarious Memes

Damian Lillard set the basketball world on fire Tuesday night, as he led the Portland Trail Blazers to a “Gentleman’s Sweep” against Russell Westbrook, Paul George and the OKC Thunder.

As you’ve likely already seen, or heard, Lillard went f for 50 points in Game 5, including a series-clinching 37-footer as time expired.

All the angles Lillard’s epic game-winner and the footage the crowd at Moda Center erupting, will be entrenched in the minds Blazers fans and NBA fans alike for a long, long time. Lillard’s ultra calm reaction won’t soon be forgotten, either.

As video footage and images the series-clinching shot quickly went viral, so did Dame’s stone cold stare down as he was swarmed by his teammates. Naturally, the image went viral and the memes followed.
