Hundreds of users’ Spotify account details are listed in a post on plain-text storage website Pastebin in a possible security breach. The list, which appeared on Pastebin on April 23rd, contains usernames, passwords, account type, and even subscription renewal information for accounts from all over the world. Spotify, the world’s largest streaming music service, released a statement claiming that it had not been hacked, and that all user data was secure, but a number of users whose account information was posted reported to TechCrunch that they began experiencing symptoms of an account breach a few days ago, and that Spotify has, so far, not been forthcoming with assistance for affected subscribers.
No party has claimed responsibility for the potential breach, and it is unknown whether more accounts than those listed on Pastebin were affected.
