If you thought you had your moves ready for the club this weekend, one Ghanaian student will make you go back to the drawing board.
The party seems to never stop for SKY girls — a network teens across Ghana. Being true to yourself is one their main principles, and it seems like the dancer below is doing just that. Check out her fire moves!
Chidera Eggerue blogs as @TheSlumflower, and started the #SaggyBoobsMatter movement. Her debut book is out this summer.
Here was her advice to a woman whose boyfriend won’t commit to her:
Q: I’ve been with my boyfriend for a year now, and although he is my best friend and we have a lot in common…I’m starting to feel insecure in the romantic sense. He’s moving away soon, so it’ll be a long distance relationship, and I don’t think I can deal with the distance as I don’t know how secure we are. You know what I mean? He’s never once said where he sees me in his future, and when I ask, he just says he “doesn’t like to talk about the future.” But how can I commit to a long distance relationship when it might end up fizzling out anyway? That said, we share so many hobbies and he genuinely makes me laugh like no one else ever has. Sometimes I wish we had just stayed friends as the romantic element is a struggle – but I crave romance! Please help!
A: Just because someone is nice, just because you are enjoying yourself, just because you feel “happy”, it doesn’t mean you are giving yourself what you deserve. This man does not know what he wants. Indecision is still a decision. If he does not see you as a strong enough option at this point, he simply is not going to be able to live up to what you deserve if you manage to find a way to “make it work”. Moments like this remind me why I am grateful for timing. Certain things happen to lead us to the side ourselves that need work, nurturing, and healing. This sudden distance has appeared between you and your boyfriend because it’s time to nourish yourself! But he needs this distance too. He sounds like he’s got some healing to do.
Black folks have a legacy being great when it comes to sports and entertainment. But for some reason, we never hear much about African Americans contributions when it comes to inventions that changed the world. But all that is changing:
Kenneth J. Dunkley is known for inventing Three Dimensional Viewing Glasses (3-DVG) in 1986.
In honor Black excellence and Black History Month, check out these dope inventions that you probably didn’t know were invented by Black people.
If you find yourself amongst the wave folks applying for a job, you know getting your cover letter right can be the biggest pain.
Some people can become so desperate, that they’ll do anything to stand out. Let 24-year-old Page Kemna tell you. She went an extra mile and decided to sing her cover letter in hopes getting noticed by employers.
Page uploaded her clip to LinkedIn and it’s since been watched over 820,000 times with close to 1,500 comments.
Seems like her cover letter vocals are working. According to DailyMail.com, she’s had “lots cool opportunities” from companies who’ve watched her video, and she’s now only “sifting through them.”
Could this be the start a new trend?
Check out her catchy tune below and decide for yourself!
Over 1 million people signed a Change.org petition to get the new Snapchat update removed. On Tuesday, February 20, the company posted it’s ficial response. It reads:
“We hear you, and appreciate that you took the time to let us know how you feel. We completely understand the new Snapchat has felt uncomfortable for many.
By putting everything from your friends in one place, our goal was to make it easier to connect with the people you care about most. The new Friends page will adapt to you and get smarter over time, reflecting who you’re most likely to be Snapping with at that moment. This same personalization is also true the new Discover, which will adapt to you the more that you use it.
Beginning soon on iOS, and with Android in the coming weeks, we are introducing tabs in Friends and Discover, which will make it easier to find the Stories that you want, when you want them. Once you receive the update, you’ll be able to sort things like Stories, Group Chats, and Subscriptions, allowing you to further customize your own experience on the app.
This new foundation is just the beginning, and we will always listen closely to find new ways to make the service better for everyone. We are grateful for your enthusiasm and creativity. We are very excited for what’s ahead.”
In other words: tough luck, learn to like it. After reading this, is anyone thinking about quitting Snapchat for good? Send us your thoughts.
On Wednesday, The White House held a listening session on ways to improve school safety following the Parkland, Florida shooting.
Donald Trump and other personnel listened to the emotional stories people impacted by Parkland as well as other massacres, such as the Pulse nightclub shooting.
One moment from the event caused major talk on the Internet when Trump’s notes for the session were caught on camera. Most notably, the last note on the list was for him to remember to say, “I hear you.”
While it’s quite common for a public speaker to carry notes, the Internet saw this as another opportunity to clown Trump and his basic-ness.
Some folks even went so far as to create memes making fun the president’s thought process. Swipe through to peep what 45 might be thinking!
