The Atlanta Falcons are kicking f the 2020s with some brand new uniforms, marking the team’s first full-scale change in 17 years. The team announced on Tuesday that the new Nike jerseys, which have been in the works for years now, will ficially be unveiled in April.
“Time and again, we’ve heard you ask for new uniforms over the years,” Falcons owner and CEO Arthur Blank wrote in a letter sent to season ticket holders. “We’ve listened to your feedback and worked closely with Nike and the NFL over the past two years to create a look that represents you and reflects Atlanta’s culture, pride and unity.”
The Falcons struggled through the first three quarters the 2019 season but finished strong, winning their last four games, en route to a 7-9 record. As a result, Atlanta holds the 16th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
At this point, it’s anybody’s guess what the new uniforms will look like. Adding a new color to the familiar red and black? Tweaking the logo? Bringing back the silver pants?

Under the guidance Williams, the two sisters have gone to become the world’s biggest tennis stars and mainstays in global sports overall. Between the two them, the Williams sisters share 30 Grand Slam singles titles and four Olympic gold medals.
Behind the scenes, other names attached to the project include executive producers Jada Pinkett-Smth and her brother Caleeb Pinkett who also flexed his production muscle in Will Smith’s After Earth vehicle and as a creative executive on Men In Black 3.
On January 3rd, a Rite Aid pharmacy in Philadelphia was robbed by a man who was supposedly seeking money for his sick child.
According to a report from CNN, the robbery unfolded as follows. A man approached the register, wearing a grey hoodie and dark gloves. He gives the cashier an item, which she scanned and placed in a plastic bag. Once that was done, the man handed her a small piece paper, which partially reads, “Give me all the money. I’m sorry, I have a sick child. You have 15 seconds.” The robber then reaches into his pocket and leans over the counter as he watches the cashier place money from the till into the plastic bag.
Security cameras captured the full robbery. It ended with the suspect putting the bag in his pocket and walking away on foot. The man didn’t brandish a weapon during the robbery, Philadelphia police ficer Tanya Little told CNN.
Despite the security camera footage, police have not yet been able to identify the suspect. The PPD Northwest Detective Division is seeking assistance in finding the man responsible. He’s described as a black man between 30 and 40 years old, under 6 feet tall, with facial hair.
Robert Downey Jr. isn’t ruling out the possibility that fans may see the 54-year-old actor suit up as Iron Man once again.
“Yeah, anything could happen,” Downey told Extra, as noticed by GamesRadar, when asked about returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in the future.
Downey also added, “As far as I’m concerned I’ve hung up my guns and I’m good to let it go. I also think that Marvel is on this journey now where they’re trying a bunch other stuff. I’m excited for them to see how all that goes. It’s hard to project, but we got a lot other stuff we want to do.”
Downey began working with Marvel in 2008, taking on the titular role in Iron Man. In total, he has appeared in ten films within the MCU, with his last expected to be an appearance in 2020’s Black Widow.
Downey’s newest film, Dolittle, is scheduled to release for January 17, 2020. He will star as Doctor Dolittle, who has the ability to speak to animals, as he sets sail on an epic adventure. Downey is also expected to star in a third film in the Sherlock Holmes series, which began in 2009.
Speaking frankly, David Ayer’s Suicide Squad was hardly considered to be the shining point in the DC cinematic canon. And while many did appreciate Margot Robbie’s commitment to the zany and unstable antihero, the film itself was seen as somewhat a mess. Despite seemingly washing their hands the original Suicide Squad, all was not lost. The powers that be looked to course correct with Birds Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation One Harley Quinn), which finds Robbie reprising her role in a starring capacity.
Today marks the arrival the film’s latest trailer, which provides a closer look at some the action setpieces and dynamics at play. Boasting a stacked cast characters, including Huntress, Black Canary, Renee Montoya, Black Mask, and Victor Zsasz, the Cathy Yan helmed film appears to be a lively, rambunctious, and all-around fun affair. Case in point, there’s a hyena.
Provided the film can maintain the trailer’s confident tone, perhaps Birds Of Prey will be a home run after all. Check out the action-packed trailer below and sound f – are you interested in seeing this one? If so, look for it to hit theaters on February 7th.
The highly coveted “Blackout” Air Jordan 11 sample has resurfaced at Flight Club, nearly a decade after the kicks were first revealed. The asking price for this murdered out Air Jordan 11? A cool $15,000.
Though the Air Jordan 11 “Blackout” never received a retail release, Jordan Brand did drop a similarly styled “Cap & Gown” colorway in 2018. However, that version featured suede detailing, as opposed to the leather and ballistic mesh construction the Blackout sample. Not to mention, the “Cap & Gown” iteration also featured an icy blue outsole rather than the smoky, dark grey detailing utilized on the pair currently available for $15K.
Check out some additional images the elusive samples below, courtesy Flight Club.
During Will Barton’s rookie season in 2012-13, he had the opportunity to go up against the man he considers to be the greatest player all time – Kobe Bryant. And it wasn’t long before Kobe had Barton completely shook.
The Nuggets’ swingman recently joined the Posted Up podcast with Chris Haynes, where he revealed exactly how the Black Mamba rattled him simply by refusing to guard him at the three-point line. Says Barton, “I got that ball at the three-point line, and he’s all the way at the free throw line. And I’ve been good my whole life, I’ve never had nobody guard me like that, so it messed me up psychologically.”
Barton admitted that Bryant’s tactics got into his head and made him nervous about shooting the ball, but some words encouragement from Kobe after the game motivated him to improve his shot.
“I talked to him after the game. I was coming out the locker room, about to go into the garage to the cars and Kobe right there, and he called me over. He was just talking to me, and that’s the only time I’ve ever been star struck in my life. And I remember he told me, ‘young fella, you gonna be good but you gotta work on your jumper. Lock yourself in that gym and get your jumper straight.’ When he told me that, I just ran with it.”
Barton, who averaged just four points during his rookie campaign with the Blazers, is currently averaging 14.6 points, 7 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 33 minutes per game.
Virgil Abloh reportedly has not one, but two different Off-White x Air Jordan 5 collabs set to release later this year. In addition to the black colorway that has been making the rounds on social media, rumors suggest that a cream iteration will also be hitting retailers.
Abloh nor Jordan Brand have yet to confirm the release, and images the second colorway have not yet been revealed, but they are expected to resemble the mockup shown below.
Just like the black Off-White x Air Jordan 5, the collaborative cream colorway will reportedly feature a textile mesh upper with several circular designs throughout the silhouette, including a punch out on the tongue. Additionally, the traditionally puffy Air Jordan 5 tongue has been stripped down to a much thinner version itself. “Nike Air” branding on the heel and a vintage yellow outsole rounds out the look.
Although release details have not yet been confirmed, it is believed that the Off-White 5s will be releasing sometime in April. Stay tuned for a first look.
Orlando Jones was fired from his role on Starz’ American Gods and he’s already making moves to sue since he believes he was dropped since the show didn’t like the message his character Mr. Nancy was sending to Black America. “That’s exactly right. That’s the only place to go,” he told Deadline. Orlando recently paid a visit to SiriusXM’s The Clay Cane Show and expressed more issues he had with the show and it’s surrounded on showrunner Charles Eglee who he calls a “culture vulture white guy.”

“Charles] is running around with a Black Panther t-shirt on talking like you black, acting like you black, thinking you blacker than black people,” he explained. “You’re playing that whole game, which is the only reason you would run your ass around and say something is crazy as Mr. Nancy’s bad for black America and clearly there’s nobody around to correct you.”
Orlando is adamant that Charles thinks he’s black, even going as far as to call him a “wigga.”
“He wears Stay Woke hats and Black Panther t-shirts and sunglasses. Dresses like old school Run DMC type deal. Look at the pictures. He’s white, but it’s one those white guys who talks like a black guy,” he added. “I don’t have any problems with somebody who’s a fan the culture, but that doesn’t make you black.”
Receiving is what New Orleans Saints’ star Michael Thomas does best, but he played the role an All-Pro caliber giver this week as he blessed all his teammates with pairs the “Bred” Air Jordan 11. Thomas had the iconic kicks waiting in the locker room for his teammates on Wednesday and by the looks the reactions posted on social media, it looks like he picked the perfect sneaker.
The beloved black and red 11s, which originally debuted in 1995, made their return to retailers last weekend for the first time since they were retro’d in 2012. Similar to the OG release, the Bred 11s come equipped with a higher-cut patent leather, just like some recent Air Jordan 11 Holiday releases like the “Space Jam” and “Concord” colorways. Thomas is a Jordan Brand athlete so he’s certainly used to receiving all the latest releases and exclusive PEs but there’s no doubt all his teammates were thrilled to own one the all-time classic Js.
The Saints (11-3) are currently sitting in the No. 3 seed in the NFC as they prepare for a road game against the Tennessee Titans in Week 16 and a trip to Carolina in Week 17. New Orleans has already clinched the NFC South divisional crown, but they are in position for a first round bye or even home field advantage throughout the playfs if any the other 11-3 NFC teams (Seahawks, Packers, 49ers) stumble down the stretch.
The organizer of the Burning Man festival is the U.S. Department of the Interior because of $18 million in permit costs levied against the festival since 2015.
Black Rock City filed the lawsuit in a Washington, DC U.S. District Court. It claims that the department’s Interior Board of Land Appeals has failed to resolve the appeals that it filed in response to the permit costs. These permits are necessary because the annual festival takes place on federal land in Nevada.
The festival organizer is further claiming that the department’s Bureau of Land Management is not providing it a “reasoned, written explanation” for the costs, which the department calls “recovery charges.”
These charges, according to Black Rock City, have skyrocketed in the last decade. From 2011 to 2012, they increased by 60% to more than $1.3 million. Then, the following year, they more than doubled to $2.93 million. After increasing another $700,000 in 2014, which represented a nearly 300% increase in these charges over a three-year period, the charges have since stabilized. In 2019, they were a little less than $3 million.
Black Rock City believes that the bureau is violating federal regulations that require it to prove in writing that the charges are proper and not arbitrarily issued.
It also accuses the department of providing cost estimates too close to the festival date, which it says does not give it enough time to review and negotiate the charges.
The suit says that “this abusive pattern and practice results in an administrative ‘Hobson’s choice’ for BRC to either accept charges and conditions, however unreasonable, or cancel the already-scheduled Burning Man Event.”
Black Rock City is asking the court to issue an injunction that would compel the department to address its appeals. It also wants the court to award it various costs as well as attorney fees.
Burning Man has taken place every year since 1990. 78,850 people attended last year’s event.

Although Shazam! Didn’t stun box fices earlier this year when it was released, it did garner rave reviews from moviegoers and critics alike. So it is no surprise the DC Comics and Warner Bros. have decided to greenlight a sequel. Shazam! 2 is slated for an April 1, 2022 release, giving the talented actors in the film just enough time to grow, but not too much. Zachary Levi hinted that Shazam! 2 may get a sequel sooner than later, due to the age the actors in the film. “If we don’t shoot another movie real quick, then they’re just gonna be men,” Levi said his co-stars Asher Angel and Jack Dylan Grazer. “There’s no point in saying ‘Shazam’ to transform, they’re already transformed! So that’s all I can tell you about the sequel, but I’m very excited to get into it, making it, and I hope you all enjoy it when we do.”
Shazam! 2 drops three months after Black Adam, which stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as the titular antihero. Black Adam and Shazam are enemies, so expect those two films to tie into each other, leading to some type showdown between Levi and Johnson. Black Adam hits theaters on December 22, 2021.
