Pharrell Williams Becomes Prank Victim After Caller Reports Shooting At His Home

Making a prank call to police in order to have cops rush to the scene someone’s home when there truly isn’t an emergency seems as if it would be an enormous waste time and resources. However, that doesn’t stop a select few from targeting celebrities and doing just that. Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Chris Brown, Charlie Sheen, Ashton Kutcher, Selena Gomez, Diddy, Magic Johnson, Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, Kris Jenner, and Paris Hilton are just a handful famous figures whose homes have been swarmed with police ficers due to a false report a dire emergency. Now, Pharrell Williams can add his name to that list.

According to a report made by TMZ, on Monday evening, Los Angeles police dispatch received a call that there had been a fatal shooting at Pharrell’s home. The outlet claims that their law enforcement sources stated the call came in around 6:30 p.m. and the person on the line insisted that someone had been accidentally “shot in the stomach and died.”

Officers quickly made their way to Pharrell’s home only to find its occupants confused about why the police were on their front porch. Wanting to make sure that there, indeed, was no one injured on the premises, the police spoke with everyone and concluded that there hadn’t been a shooting incident at all. Pharrell reportedly wasn’t even home when it all went down, yet, police are still investigating as they’re looking into who placed the call.

Summer Walker Performs ‘Playing Games’ on ‘Tonight Show’

Summer Walker capped off her incredible year with a performance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Monday.

Joined by her band and two backup singers, the R&B songstress performed the Destiny’s Child-sampled hit off her record-setting debut album Over It. Wearing a velvet blue pantsuit, Summer delivered the R&B jam in front of giant sparkly moon and heart props.

The Soul Train Award winner is currently on her “First and Last Tour,” which wraps Dec. 22 in Atlanta. She canceled 20 dates on the sold-out trek due to her struggle with social anxiety.

Last month, she dropped her Chris Brown and London On Da Track collaboration “Something Real.”

Chris Brown Reveals Rainbow Hair

The R&B superstar, who recently welcomed a second child, has unveiled his new rainbow hairstyle. Taking to Instagram Wednesday, Breezy showed off the multi-colored pattern, which he describes as “Willy Wonka x Jurassic Park.”

The colorful ‘do drew a wide range of reactions from Team Breezy. “You can pull off any hairstyle, any color & you still gon be fine af!” wrote one fan, while another added, “if u like it.. thas all what matters.”

Chris Brown Channels "In Rainbows" With Colorful New Hair

When the cash flow has reached Scrooge McDuck levels, the hair dye simply hits different. Ask Chris Brown, that wily chameleon, who has basically chosen to change his hair color with the passage the lunar cycle. Like a human mood ring, Breezy’s hair has become a reflection his current temperament. Scholars have spent tireless years and frivolously spent grant money attempting to correlate the two — albeit vainly. And yet here we are, observing his most dynamic hairstyle yet: “In Rainbows.”

Stylized by the man himself as a crossover event the Holiday Season, “WILLY WONKA X JURASSIC PARK,” Breezy showed f the colorful new hairstyle on his Instagram page. In a brilliant masterstroke, there’s a duality present that allows him to express two distinctive moods with the simple angling his head. Willy Wonka for the jubilant occasions, Jurassic Park for the somber. Willy for the courtship, Park for the breakup. Willy for the 808s, Park for the heartbreak.

This isn’t the first time Breezy has gone Picasso baby on the headpiece and it won’t be the last. After all, the New Moon is upon us.

Eminem Sides with Chris Brown Over Rihanna Assault on Leaked Song

Shady is stirring up more controversy.

A newly-leaked song allegedly finds Eminem rapping about Chris Brown assaulting Rihanna in 2009. In the clip, the 47-year-old rapper says, “I’d side with Chris Brown, I’d beat down a bitch too.”

The seven-second snippet first surfaced Sunday on under the title “(SNIPPET) Eminem – Things Get Worse (Rihanna Diss).” The leaked verse is reportedly from an unreleased version of B.o.B.’s “Things Get Worse” off 2011’s EPIC album, which was a leftover from Em’s 2009 Relapse recording sessions.

The song was released just months after Brown was charged with assaulting Rihanna and was recorded prior to Em’s hit collaborations with Rihanna including 2010’s “Love the Way You Lie” and 2013’s “The Monster.”

Rihanna fans haven’t taken well to the newly-surfaced lyrics, voicing their disapproval on social media, while others were more forgiving.

Last week, Eminem also sparked controversy with his leaked Joyner Lucas collaboration “What If I Was Gay?” The song finds him asking, “What if I told you I’m homophobic?” and “What if I’m a hypocrite who is afraid to just face truth / What if I told you I’m gay too?”

Sony Music Quarterly Streaming Revenues Boom 21%

Earlier today, Sony Music reported its second-quarter financial results for 2019, with music streaming driving a sharp increase in revenues.

In the period ending September 30th, Sony Music reported an operating income of 37.5 billion yen ($344 million), which is a 19% increase over the same period the year before. These results include the following operations:

  • Sony Music Entertainment
  • Sony/ATV Publishing
  • Sony Japan
  • Visual Media/Platform

Operating profit at Sony rose even more. The company reported an increase of 23.5%, from 31.5 million yen ($282.5 million) on revenues of 203.9 billion yen ($1.83 billion) to 37.48 billion yen ($349 million) on revenue of 219.3 billion yen ($2.04 billion).

Revenue at the company also rose 8%.

The company attributed its growth to a dramatic increase in music streaming revenue.

Global music streaming revenues at Sony rose 21.4%, from 57.1 billion yen ($512 million) a year ago to 66.8 billion yen ($622 million). At the same time, total music sales rose more modestly, from 111.9 billion yen ($1 billion) to 112.2 billion yen ($1 billion). This was due to a steep decrease in downloads, from 9.8 billion yen ($88 million) to 8.84 billion yen ($82.3 million), and overall flat physical sales from CDs, vinyl and cassettes.

Music publishing at Sony rose 95% during the period as well, but this was mostly due to the company consolidating EMI Music Publishing.

Sony Music’s first-half numbers were also quite good, with operating income rising over 19% over the previous period to 75.8 billion yen ($696 million) and sales rising 9% to 421.5 billion yen ($3.87 billion). Though a change in accounting methodologies is said to have adversely affected the company sales revenues in its 2018 fiscal year.

Big hits at Sony Music helped drive its results.

Greatly helping Sony’s second quarter were the following releases:

  • Fear Inoculum by Tool
  • “Panini” by Lil Nas X
  • Indigo by Chris Brown
  • Free Spirit by Khalid

Financial results at Sony are in line with Universal Music Group’s latest numbers and with broader industry stats recently released by the RIAA.

Sevyn Streeter’s Management Shuts Down Fan Who Got Handsy With The Singer

Artists ten push limits when they bring fans onto the stage for one-on-one interaction. Things can start f innocently, like that Lady Gaga who recently wrapped her legs around a fan’s waist on stage, only for him to lose his footing. The pair fell into the crowd and Gaga’s landing looked hard and painful. Janet Jackson and Ashanti are known to bring men on stage with them, sitting them in chairs as the singers rub all over their bodies. YK Osiris recently asked a few women in the audience to give him lapdances which resulted in the singer almost losing his pants. Performers pull out all the stops to give their fans a show while making them feel as if they’re involved with the production, but not everyone wants their admirers to get handsy.

YK Osiris may have been just fine with a woman pawing at his body, but that wasn’t the case for Sevyn Streeter. She’s known for penning tracks for fellow artists like Chris Brown, Fantasia, Ariana Grande, Usher, and K. Michelle, however, Sevyn is a talented singer in her own right. She was recently performing in Atlanta and decided to bring up an unsuspecting young man who was seated as Sevyn sang while giving him a lapdance.

The man must have had flashbacks being at the strip club because he began touching on the singer, but her management wasn’t having any it. From the side the stage, he quickly comes out and makes sure the fan doesn’t get touchy-feely. “I don’t play about my clients!” Brandon Farmer wrote. “Lol keep ya hands to yo self.” Sevyn commented on the move and cited Keke Palmer’s recent meme when she wrote, “Sorry 2 dat man….” Meanwhile, there were a few people in the comments who thought if she didn’t want to be touched, she shouldn’t have been grinding on him. Check out the clip below.
