Questlove Marks His Directorial Debut For Upcoming Documentary "Black Woodstock"

Woodstock is probably one the most famous music festivals to have taken place but little people know that another noteworthy music festival was happening at the same time, Harlem Cultural Festival. The latter was made to shine a light on Black superstars 1969 sich as Nina Simone Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight And The Pips and lots more. The festival pulled in little media coverage but now The RootsQuestlove is working on a documentary that will show love to the special event.

A$AP Ferg Twitter Hack: Racial Slurs & Drake Lust

With it being so easy to hack into anybody’s social media accounts nowadays, it’s important to ensure your own cyber safety by crafting carefully-made passwords for each platform you use. If you think your username and pass are easy to guess, you’re probably right. We don’t know what A$AP Ferg was using to access his online accounts but apparently, it was simple enough for a hacker to come through with some terrible statements on his behalf.

Many the tweets have since been deleted but, this morning, A$AP Ferg was the victim a pretty serious hacking job on his Twitter prile. It was clear that the rapper’s account had been compromised after he tweeted out that he had just done a bunch cocaine with a random dude, tagging the guy in the post. Then, the posts started getting pretty disgusting. Declaring that “Drake‘s butthole is Tasty ASF,” Ferg’s hackers began to share some disturbing racial slurs on the prile, pretending to be the Harlem star.

“Donald trump is a n***er,” wrote the hacker before digging even deeper. “I think n***ers are not humans,” added the unauthorized hacker in a separate post. Clearly, these messages are not being sent from Ferg himself. Hopefully, he’s able to get the people responsible for this.

Boston, MA – Dave East was evidently forced to cancel an after party event in Boston on Friday night (November 29) after allegedly receiving death threats.

According to East’s Instagram Stories, the owner of Icon Nightclub on Warrenton Street claimed he fielded two anonymous phone calls from someone threatening to shoot the Harlem-bred rapper.

East appeared skeptical of the entire situation and made it clear he was disappointed in the club owner’s actions.

“The club owner to Icon in Boston said he got 2 anonymous phone calls that they was gone shoot me tonight lol so they ain’t let me in the club,” he wrote. “I know one thing, if a nigga gone do that he ain’t calling the club telling them. Sorry to however came out to see me and to the owner of Icon you a bozo.”

Dave East Keeps It 100 While Reflecting On Nipsey Hussle In New Interview

Dave East rolled through Hot 97 for an interview with Nessa on Air and as always he brought the real. The interview kicks f with East talking about acting and Nessa asks the Harlem rapper if there’s any actor he would really like to work with. He quickly responds with “De Niro.” Solid choice. Dave then talks about Survival and Nessa asks him which song was “the toughest” to put together on the album to which he responds, “I Need A Sign” and “Seventeen.” Soon after, Dave reveals that his 10th-grade teacher slid into his DM’s and encouraged him to keep on doing what he’s doing, but he admits that he left the message on seen.

On the question whether or not East wants more kids, he says that he wants a son and that his daughter is “perfect” to him. He continues talking about his daughter saying, “nothing about her dims no part my day.”

Nessa then asks about the Nipsey Hussle tribute and Dave says AraabMusik did the beat, Snoop Dogg is on it and and it’s “like me and Nip in the car smoking…and I’m telling this n**** like, this is the inspiration you gave me.” He continues saying that the record is, “everything I didn’t get to tell him while he was here.” He brings up the fact that people talk to everyone like “they’re going to be here tomorrow.” Nip and East spoke about personal brands during their friendship, and East reflects on the incredible “imprint” Nipsey has left. He reveals that he spoke to Nipsey 3 days before his death on FaceTime.

Dave East Speaks On "Survival", Nipsey Hussle, Nas & More

Dave East is doing his interview rounds and sat down to chop it up with the L.A. Leakers. In case you’re living under a rock, East just released his fire debut album Survival and his fans have the project on repeat. In the interview, the Harlem rapper talks about getting the right vibe in the studio, his friendships with Nipsey Hussle and Nas, and more.

East says that a studio session with him is “like a Bob Marley session” with champagne and good vibes. He says that when some people come through with a bad vibe he even tells them to “holla at me later.”

The conversation moved on to Nipsey Hussle where he spoke on the incredible loss and how he can remember conversations with the late Crenshaw rapper. On whether or not he would put out posthumous music with Nip he said, “it’s not easy for me to revisit that just for some money.” He continued saying that if he puts something out with Nipsey Hussle on the record it’ll be for Nipsey’s children.

On working with Nas, East calls the experience “priceless.” He says that Nas gives him freedom, lets him “do me” and that there was “no compromising for the label” on the album. He likens the experience working with Nas to “making it to the league” after looking up to Michael Jordan as a kid and now being on MJ’s team.

When asked about the best advice he has ever received he instantly says, “mind my business.” And on the advice he would give to a younger version himself he says he’d say the same and then he adds, “and listen to your mother and father.”

A$AP Rocky to Return to Sweden for Show

A$AP Rocky is heading back to Sweden.

After his high-profile Swedish assault case, the “Babushka Boi” is scheduled to return to Stockholm on Dec. 11 for a show at the Ericsson Globe that will include other Swedish artists.

Live Nation announced the performance on Friday. “After tremendous support from the Swedish fans, he returns to Stockholm for a long-awaited gig for all his supporters,” read a statement from the tour promoter.

Rocky was taken into custody on July 2 over his involvement in a street brawl. One month later, he was released from a Swedish detention center following a high-profile trial that captured worldwide attention, with Kim Kardashian-West, Justin Bieber, and President Trump calling on Swedish authorities to release the Harlem rapper.

A Swedish court found Rocky guilty of assault. He was handed a suspended sentence and ordered to pay damages to the victim despite video showing the 19-year-old man antagonizing his crew.

The Swedish prosecutor who worked on the case tells TMZ that there are no restrictions on A$AP related to the assault conviction. “He can return to Sweden for his gig and won’t be arrested unless he commits another crime,” says the prosecutor.

Rocky had previously vowed to never return to Sweden, so it’s unclear what made him decide to go back so soon.

Tickets for his Stockholm show go on sale Nov. 12.

A$AP Rocky Announces Return Concert In Sweden

Harlem rapper A$AP Rocky is not one to disappoint his fans. The superstar artist wants everybody to witness his live performance at least once in their lives. As you surely know, he was forced to cut his European tour short earlier this year after getting arrested for assault in Stockholm, Sweden. Flacko Jodye was caught on camera tossing a fan on the sidewalk and, after a month-long stay in terrible jail conditions, he was found guilty and given the chance to return home. No less than four months following his verdict in the case, the man has decided to return to Sweden to put on a show for his loyal fanbase overseas.

The announcement was made today with The Local letting everyone know when he will be back. “After tremendous support from the Swedish fans, he returns to Stockholm for a long-awaited gig for all his supporters,” said Live Nation in a statement today regarding Rocky’s upcoming performance in Sweden. The show will take place on December 11 at the Ericsson Globe and his supporting acts will be primarily composed Swedish artists that have not yet been announced. Tickets will go on sale on November 12.

Props to Rocky for returning to fulfill his promise to his Swedish fans. Hopefully, his stay overseas is much more enjoyable this time around.

A$AP Rocky Flexes Abundance Of Icy Chains To Reclaim "Fashion Killa" Status

A$AP Rocky’s drip never really went anywhere. He is, was and always will be a pretty motherfucker by nature. The Harlem-based rapper has had himself a rough year, getting locked up in Sweden for assault and making international headlines when it was reported that he could spend several years in prison. He only ended up serving about one month before being released but still, we all were worried about the superstar. Well-known for his bars about designer clothing and for being spotted front row at Fashion Week events across the globe, the stylish artist proved to us, once again, that he has some the best looks in the game.

In his latest social upload, the AWGE member styles a varsity jacket with a myriad iced-out chains around his neck. Seriously, it looks like he’s got a few hundred thousand dollars hanging on his chest. He paired the ensemble with a simple green beanie but the focal point is definitely the jewelry. Of course, one outfit wasn’t enough for Flacko. He took a couple extra pics to flex a neon green casual look as well as his VLONE chain and a few Goyard trunks to keep his belongings safe and secure.

Do you think A$AP Rocky is the best dresser in the game?

Diddy Confirms "Making The Band" In 2020; Says He’s In "Semi-Retirement" From Music

Whether you know him as Puff Daddy, Puffy, Puff, P. Diddy, Diddy, or Sean Love Combs, the Bad Boy founder is undeniably one the greatest businessmen in the entertainment industry. There isn’t an area business that Diddy doesn’t have his hand in: music, fashion, television, film, art, restaurants, politics—the list goes on. It all began when he was an intern at Uptown Records making his way up the ranks until he was a recognizable name in the game. The creation Bad Boy would shift how the world saw Diddy, and he helped shape the careers some our favorite R&B and hip hop artists for over two decades.

Rolling Stone celebrated the influential careers both DJ Khaled and Diddy for their latest cover story where the two chatted about their humble beginnings, work ethic, and admiration one another. At one point, Khaled asked Diddy how he and the late-great Notorious B.I.G. met each other. Diddy recalled that their first introduction was at Syl’s in Harlem.

“Yeah. I wanted to sign him so bad. And I saw he was a big guy, and I was from Harlem,” he said. “I was like, ‘Man, the best thing for me to do is to invite him to Syl’s.’ And the crazy thing was that when he sat down, I said, ‘What you want to eat?’ He said, ‘I’m not hungry’ both laugh]. He would never eat around me!”

The two would make history together and it’s obvious that Diddy is looking to help create artists who have the talent and it-factor that he felt with Biggie. When asked what he looked for with new artists, Diddy shared that he’s in “semi-retirement.” He added, “If you don’t see my name on all the Top 10 records, that means I’m not making music. I’m bringing Making the Band back in 2020. I’m contemplating, ‘Is there a role for me in music now?’ I just know that for me, I would only be able to sign legends. To be honest, my decisions will be made through God. I’m at another frequency and level music. It would have to be something that God fully put in my heart, like when I heard Biggie or I heard Mary J. Blige].” Is there an artist that you think is that level legendary?

Dave East and Nas Team Up on ‘Godfather 4’

As he gears up to release his debut album Survival next month, Dave East drops “Godfather 4,” a collaboration with Nas.

The introspective track finds the Harlem rapper and his mentor flowing over a soulful instrumental, produced by DJ Green Lantern, with contributions from New Orleans brass band the Soul Rebels and jazz trumpeter Keyon Harrold.

God’s Son pays homage to MCs who rhyme “intelligent” over “orchestral tracks” before singling out Dave as a worthy successor. “No offense, but I was over with finding young spitters with names I remember Dave,” he raps as his protégé’s name echoes on the track.

East takes the baton from there. “Yo big bro, I’m from the ice pick era, light-skin terror / Thought I could sell this dope till my life get better,” he raps.

“Godfather 4” follows the Jacquees-assisted “Alone” from East’s upcoming debut Survival, which arrives on Nov. 8.

Following the album’s release, he will kick off his “Survival Tour” on Nov. 22 in Atlanta before traveling overseas to the U.K., Europe, and Dubai.

Following the altercation, Rocky decided to meet up with the guy and speak with him. The conversation turned violent. He claimed that the older guy reached into his pocket, which made young Rocky believe he was taking out a gun. Young Rocky had a few seconds to react, which caused him to fire his gun at the bully.

He stated in the interview that he didn’t even want to shoot him, let alone be caught in a fight. However, he was arrested and almost charged with attempted murder. The charges were reduced due to his age, although he still spent time in one the U.S’s most dangerous prisons, Rikers’ Island. He explained how he met the Brooklyn rapper Cassanova who protected him in jail. When asked why he was holding a gun in the first place, Rocky responded ”it’s life man.” Rocky managed to leave the streets Harlem unscathed, coming into a successful and creative career.

LeBron James Teases Star-Studded Lineup For Next Episode Of "The Shop"

LeBron James stresses that he is more than an athlete and with his HBO show called The Shop that is certainly true. The shoe isn’t exactly consistent as it airs whenever he can find time to do it. There are always some big celebrity guests on the show so it can be hard to get these people together in one room and get the scheduling right. Regardless, LeBron manages to get it done and yesterday, he teased a brand new episode with one his most impressive celebrity casts to date.

In the video below, you can see the usual cast characters like LeBron and Maverick Carter. From there, we see DeMar DeRozan the San Antonio Spurs, comedian Bill Hader, and music industry legends like Diddy and Rick Rubin

Rubin can be a pretty reclusive figure so it will be interesting to see how he fits in with everyone else here. Diddy always makes for an interesting interview and conversation so this latest episode  The Shop is about to be a big one.

If you’re looking to watch this, it will air Friday, October 25th at 9:30 PM EST on HBO. Let us know in the comments who you’re most interested in hearing from.

Rihanna Takes Photo With A$AP Yams’ Mom At Rolling Loud: See Pic

She didn’t hit the stage, but Rihanna’s presence was definitely felt this past weekend during Rolling Loud in NYC. On Sunday night, RiRi was spotted kicking with the A$AP Mob backstage following Rocky’s set. In the midst her appearance, Rihanna took time out to pay respect to the late great A$AP Yams, by taking a photo with his mother, Tatianna Paulino.

It’s unclear if Rocky and the mob brought Yams’ mother to Rolling Loud or what, but it wouldn’t the first time they’ve done something like this. In fact, back in 2016, Rocky brought Yams’ mom to the Grammy’s as his date, keeping his man’s spirit & legacy still very much alive.

Check out the selfie Rihanna & Yams’ mom (below) as well as Rocky’s tribute to Yams during his set last night.

While you’re at it, peep the cringe-worthy clip Rihanna roasting a fan for putting their arm around her last night right here. I’ve also included some more footage from RiRi’s time last night with the Harlem mob as well. Look for Rihanna’s new album to be on the way.
