While not always the most high-prile all the rappers on TDE’s roster, Jay Rock has always managed to stand out whenever he shows up on a track. On his recent contribution to the Black Panther soundtrack on “King’s Dead,” he holds his own alongside Future, as well as label-mate and Pulitzer Prize-winnerKendrick Lamar.
However, aside from the occasional guest appearance, fans have been starved for new Jay Rock music lately. He dropped his last album, 90059, in back in 2015, but since then there’s been very little news on when he’ll be releasing a new album. That is, until now.
Yesterday, TDE CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, shared a photo on his Instagram that will excite any Jay Rock fan. The photo shows a workplace meeting, with a laptop sitting in the middle the table. The caption reads, “@jayrock marketing meeting…. New music and album coming soon… #TDE.” That in itself is pretty nice, but a closer look at the laptop reveals even more information.
Zooming in on the screen shows Jay, masked up and throwing up gang signs. Underneath his name however, is the word “Redemption,” which will presumably be the title Jay’s next album. In addition to that, a mention Interscope Records is written below. Jay Rock’s previous albums were all released through TDE, so it seems that Jay will have some support from a major label for this next project.

It looks as if Lil Pump is not the only rapper on the rise that is signing new deals. From the looks it, Chicago-based Juice WRLD has signed a $3 million deal with Interscope Records. The Chicago talent is on a remarkable come-up, gaining heavy traction with his songs “All Girls Are The Same,” “Lucid Dreams,” and “Sticks & Stones.” Juice WRLD has been compared to Post Malone in the past, due to the similarities in their voices and musical styles and, while being in somebody’s shadow is never a great way to begin your career, Juice’s music has a pronounced maturity that sets him apart from his contemporaries.
Having recently released the Cole Bennett-directed video for “All Girls Are The Same,” the Lyrical Lemonade co-sign has gathered him further attention, growing his name to where he can confidently claim to be “next up.” Juice continues new school hip-hop’s obsession with emo content, showing f a savvy for melody and catchiness.
With the new deal, Juice WRLD is undergoing a joint venture with Interscope as he continues to grow in the rap world, becoming more established among the core communities. Keep an eye on him as he proceeds to grow since, with this announcement, things are really starting to look up for him.
Rich The Kid’s been in the game for a while but it only seems that it was only recently that he began getting his recognition. As early as 2013, he’s been putting in work and garnered recognition with his work with Migos on their Streets On Lock mixtape series. Since then, he’s penned a deal with Interscope Records and gearing up to make a mark in the rap game with his debut album. However, his formal introduction to the masses only occurred in September after he released the Kendrick Lamar assisted single “New Freezer.” That single has now earned him his first ever position on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.

Rich The Kid’s “New Freezer” marks the rapper’s first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 this week, Billboard reports. The single is currently sitting at number 75 on the charts months after its release. They say a good chunk the song’s spike is because the “New Freezer Challenge” the rapper created which has created numerous people swaying to the song in short Instagram clips.
Another thing that possibly helped its entry on the Billboard Hot 100 chart is that Kendrick rapped his verse during his performance at the Grammys a few weeks a go.
However, the fact that it entered the Hot 100 is only the beginning for Rich The Kid. The rapper tweeted earlier, “Issa blessing!!! #NewFreezer let’s go #1.” So it’s safe to say he’s gunning for the top spot.
