Lil Peep's "Come Over When You're Sober Pt. 2" Listening Party: A True Labor Of Love

The chilly is biting. I’m ready exterior Ideal Glass within the East Village, my arms in my pockets and my neck craned in direction of the sky as I marvel on the masterpiece plastered throughout the outdated concrete exterior the constructing. The black and white mural capturing the long-lasting Adam DeGross photograph dwarfs the stressed attendees who huddle alongside the sting the sidewalk, totally immersing themselves within the breathtaking rendering Gus Åhr, recognized pressionally as Lil Peep. The power is palpable. Earlier within the week, Come Over When You’re Sober Pt. 2 was formally introduced on Peep’s Instagram web page, resulting in hypothesis that the album rollout was simply across the nook. “Cry Alone,” the primary single from the undertaking, arrived on October 18th to an amazing response: the accompanying music video, which options footage the rising star whereas he was alive, has properly over 35,000 feedback from adoring followers.

As I enter the venue, it turns into abundantly clear to me that the identical love and devotion is current, practically a 12 months faraway from the passing one music’s most auspicious skills. To quote Jay Schumer from Columbia Records, “Gus is throughout us.” Beneath the dim glow the pink and purple spotlights, folding chairs are organized in solemn rows earlier than the small stage. A playlist Gus’ favourite music gently cycles within the background, whereas slideshows pictures, music movies, and interviews play on the opposing brick partitions. Jack-o’-lanterns carved with Gus’ likeness and stylized signature full the setup, paying homage to his favourite vacation. At the entrance the room is an enlarged projection the album art work for the forthcoming launch, Gus’ shadow framing his gaze.

There are a quantity individuals who come ahead to precise their gratitude for many who have labored so diligently to make the labor love come to life. Everyone touches on Gus’ character: his honesty and loyalty, the “order and readability” his musical selections, and his blossoming creativity. Producer Smokeasac, one Gus’ closest mates and collaborators, addresses the painstaking artistic course of and hones in on the important significance the music at hand. “This album is an important undertaking I’ll ever work on in my lifetime, I’m positive that,” he says. Of all of the glowing reward and considerate contemplation relating to Gus’ legacy, one line specifically from his mother, Liza Womack, stands out: “This is the album (Gus) would have made if he have been residing.”

As the music begins to play, and because the environment descends into the bittersweet actuality Gus’ absence, I can’t assist however nod my head to the beat and stare at Gus’ face beneath the intense purple scrawl the album title. The music fades, bringing the occasion to a detailed that’s each components solemn and uplifting. A spherical applause provides solution to quiet musings as individuals trickle out the door. As I enterprise again out into the frigid autumn climate Manhattan, I believe all that Gus has left behind: a proud mom who cares deeply about preserving the standard her son’s legacy; a conscientious help system devoted to safeguarding Gus’ music; and a fanbase that desires nothing greater than to honor the work a younger expertise gone far too quickly. Because for Gus, “it’s all concerning the music.”

Jonah Hill Left An Important Meeting To Go To Kanye West's Wyoming Listening Party

Kanye West’s Ye was one his most divisive albums to date but the rapper did hold yet another dope listening party. A selected group artists, influencers and friends were flown out to Wyoming to listen to the party for the first time in the middle the mountains. Among those was Jonah Hill. The actor’s been vocal about how much he loves Kanye West in the past but in a new interview, he explained that he had to leave an incredibly important meeting in order to make it out to Wyoming.

Jonah Hill recently sat down with Jimmy Kimmel and explained how he ended up at Kanye West’s Ye listening party. He said that he was in a meeting with legendary movie producer Scott Rudin for his directorial debut “Mid-90’s” when he got an e-mail that said he was invited to Kanye West’s Wyoming listening party for Ye. After their boss gave them the green light to go, Hill and his friend left the 7 a.m. meeting and went straight to the airport.

“We take a plane to Wyoming and the airport is like, us and like 2 Chainz and like Fabolous, you know? It was really this epic, legendary thing,” he said. “Then they played this record and I didn’t realize it was controversial to go support Kanye at that time. My sister didn’t speak to me for like a week ’cause he had worn a MAGA hat and shit. To me, it felt like a bad Andy Kaufman swing and a miss. I don’t bail on people right away.”

Despite the backlash from his sister, Jonah Hill enjoyed his experience in Wyoming.

Kanye West Completed Teyana Taylor's Album On Flight To Listening Party

This year has been full movement for Kanye West and G.O.O.D. Music. His music label prompted some the juiciest dialogs on the scene and snatched the top three spots on Apple Music, with Ye, Kids See Ghosts and Nasir, all which were produced by the self-proclaimed genius. There is no wonder the artist finds himself finishing up an album on a plane only hours before it is set to be previewed at a listening party. ‘Tis the case with Teyana Taylor’s sophomore album KTSE. Kim Kardashian tweeted about her husband clocking in hours during their flight back from Paris.

Clearly, Kim believes KTSE going to be worth the wait. If Teyana’s album is as good as her label mate’s releases, we are in for a treat. One interlude featured on the album has some people talking as it was recorded by the iconic Miss Lauryn Hill. This addition stokes the excitement for her fans who have been waiting for Teyana to release a studio album since her last fering, VIII, which dropped in November 2014. Even with this anticipation, there is seemingly much less hype or controversy surrounding her project in comparison to the other G.O.O.D. Music projects, which can potentially be reflected in album sales. The long-awaited KTSE drops tonight. We’ll just have to wait and see.
