Nike's Colin Kaepernick Ad Results In $43M Worth Of Media Exposure: Report

Nike’s 30th anniversary “Just Do It” campaign featuring free agent QB Colin Kaepernick went super viral this week and remains one the biggest stories in sports and lifestyle as we ahead into Week 1 the NFL season. In fact Apex Marketing Group reports the polarizing ad resulted in more than $43 million worth media exposure gained within the first 24 hours.

Nike’s “Just Do It” campaign has been the topic discussion all week as supporters and Nike boycotters have taken to social media to weigh in on the ad, which is part a much larger campaign meant to specifically speak to 15- to 17-year olds. 

The latest spot in Nike’s 30th anniversary “Just Do It” campaign was revealed yesterday and it features a video with a voiceover by Kaepernick. In it, Kaepernick references several star Nike athletes including LeBron James, Serena Williams, Shaquem Griffin, Odell Beckham Jr. and others. According to ESPN’s Darren Rovell, the new ad will air tonight during the Atlanta Falcons vs Philadelphia Eagles regular season opener.
