p>Fif’s been trying to hound down Mari in order to collect his money, even demanding that she pays penalties for taking so long. According to new documents obtained by The Blast, Fif returned to court to accuse Mari shrugging f her court battle and withholding financial information such as her paychecks from VH1.
Fif filed new documents demanding the judge grant his motion to pay an additional $5,295.60 in sanctions on top the $30K that’s already owed. “To date, Mari has failed to pay a single dime to Jackson in satisfaction the Judgment despite earning over $100,000 this past year. Her previous claims under oath that she is “broke” no longer ring true, and it is more clear than ever that she has no intention paying her debts,” he said in court documents. He added that she’s “actively conceal her assets and prevent” him from receiving the money owed.
R. Kelly‘s star power may have got him out a few binds in the past but these days, the feds have all eyes on him. As the singer awaits his day in court, he’s facing more allegations from the prosecutors about his alleged conduct inside the jail system. According to The Blast, prosecutors have accused R. Kelly violated prison regulations with unmonitored communication with the outside.

It all started when Kelly tried to file a motion in his recent criminal case demanding to know the names the two Jane Does list in the criminal indictment for his own defense. Prosecutors later argued his history harassment towards his accusers. “At the time his arrest Mr. Kelly was living in a small condominium, working with his longtime producer, without other employees note, and effectively without any income. He had no “enterprise” as the government likes to call his career and his business, RSK Enterprises,” said Kelly’s lawyer.
Prosecutors pointed out an incident a threatening letter sent to an accuser. Kelly’s lawyer said that he doesn’t know how to read or write but the prosecutors said that doesn’t mean he can’t direct others to write it for him.
In terms unmonitored conversation, they said he took purposeful “steps on multiple occasions to bypass these safeguards.
In November 2019, the defendant, in contravention prison regulations, used an intermediary to smuggle a letter a third party wrote to him into the detention center where he is currently housed. The letter was marked “Legal” – in an attempt to avoid inspection the correspondence – and was provided to the defendant during a legal visit by an attorney who is not one the defendant’s attorneys record in this case (the “Attorney”) during a visit with the Attorney. Again, it is clear, despite the defendant’s claims to the contrary, that he has methods passing messages between himself and his confederates with no evidence visits or telephone calls between them.
These incidents demonstrate that the defendant has sought out, and likely will continue to seek out, clandestine means communication. It also demonstrates that the defendant has, at his disposal, individuals willing to assist him in bypassing the traditional methods used to monitor the defendant’s communications while incarcerated. In these circumstances, the defendant’s attempt to paint himself as being completely isolated from the outside world and unable to communicate without monitoring such that obstructive conduct would be impossible is simply not credible.
Skip Bayless is one the most polarizing figures on sports talk television and that’s even considering the contributions Stephen A. Smith. Skip has come through with some pretty dubious opinions over the years and has upset sports fans because it. Regardless how you feel about Bayless, there is no denying just how entertaining he is. When paired with former NFL star Shannon Sharpe, Skip is truly a delight to watch, even if you hate what comes out his mouth.
Today, Skip came through with one his most bizarre opinions yet. Essentially, Bayless believes the San Francisco 49ers are an underdog in the Super Bowl because Jimmy Garoppolo simply isn’t good enough. In fact, Bayless thinks the 49ers should go out and get Tom Brady if they lose the Super Bowl.
Brady is a free agent for the first time in his career this Spring and would certainly be a perfect fit for the 49ers. Brady and Garoppolo have some history as the latter was Brady’s backup in New England. Of course, Bayless’ assertions are still farfetched when you consider how solid Garroppolo has actually been. If the 49ers lose the Super Bowl, it will be because the Chiefs fense and not the shortcomings their QB.
What do you think Bayless’ take here? Is he right or way f?
In only a few years, Swae Lee has established himself as one the game’s strongest melodists. Between his work with Rae Sremmurd and his own solo output, the work speaks for itself. The quality was not lost on Eminem, who came through to give Swae Lee a shoutout on his recent album Music To Be Murdered By.

In the climactic bars intro track “The Premonition,” Em sets up a scheme about how his fans have been violently pulling him in various directions. “I need to get me some Dre beats / No, I should hook up with Tay Keith,” he raps. “Fans keep on pulling me one way, haters pull me in another / got more hooks in me than Swae Lee.”
It didn’t take long for Swae to catch wind the reference, taking some time to show Em some love. After acknowledging that yes, he does indeed have a substantial volume hooks, Swae declared Eminem to be “a legend.” Common knowledge to hip-hop heads, but a statement that might prove divisive to younger listeners. Perhaps one day we shall see the pair join forces. Until then, check out the praise below.
Miami, Florida – The platinum-selling trio of DoItAll, Mr. Funke and DJ Lord Jazz (collectively known as Lords Of The Underground) rose to prominence in the early 90s, with their first two albums spawning post-Golden Era essentials “Chief Rocka” and “Tic Toc” — among others.
Though their third and fourth releases, which dropped in 1999 and 2007 respectively, may have slipped under the mainstream radar, the group (now in their 27th year) has remained remarkably active.
Still, it’s been 13 years since fans have gotten a collective body of work from the trio. That all changes in 2020, as they prepare to drop their fifth studio album, So Legendary — announced earlier this year alongside the first single “Insomnia.”
According to Lord Jazz, the new album was simply a matter of time — and the group is back for the long haul.
“We love and are always recording,” Jazz tells HipHopDX. So Legendary is produced entirely by German production team The Snowgoons, who’ve developed a reputation in recent years for putting golden era heavyweights back on the map.
“Working with Snowgoons was a no brainer for me,” he notes. “These guys have dope beats and a great work ethic … I like that about them. The new project is definitely for both our fans and Snowgoons fans — we combined forces and knocked it out.”
Jazz explains that he first became aware of the Goons while living in Paris, France, from 2000 to 2012. “I would see them while doing gigs in Germany and all around Europe. I love their albums and what they have contributed to Hip Hop. Our European management (Latfro Agency) actually suggested that we do the album and made it happen.”
The project was recorded in Germany while the group was on tour. “On our days off we would record,” he says. “Hip Hop is about whats going on in your surroundings, so Du and Funke are actually painting a picture of what was happening while in Germany, listen to the verses.
“It was a plus that we were all together vibing in the studio and not in three different places,” he adds.
With 2023 marking their 30-year milestone, Jazz says he hopes Lords Of The Underground’s legacy will be longevity, positivity and great music that never degraded women.
“It’s up to us to write our own history because if we don’t somebody else will — and it won’t be authentic,” he says. “We strongly believe in helping others like Harriet Tubman did … Doitall is heavy into politics and making a big impact not only in his City of Newark but worldwide. I’m starting a DJ course at the school of Arts in Florida and teaching students about music and the great influence it has in the world.”
As for what keeps Jazz creativity motivated after almost three decades is simple: his family.
“My kids and wife keep me motivated. I have to provide for them so I’m always motivated and doing what I have to do,” he explains. “Creatively, just waking up and seeing the sun and breathing fresh air is motivation for me.
“My daughter DJ Glo keeps me on my Ps and Qs with the latest music,” he adds with a laugh. “She’s also a DJ, producer, actress and plays three different instruments … that’s motivation enough for me.”
The Lords Of The Underground’s long-awaited fifth album, So Legendary produced by The Snowgoons is coming soon. The group is also on tour in Europe this April. Jazz is also working on an EP with Jersey artist Tru Trilla.
The Michael Jackson Estate has inked a renewal agreement with BMI to continue to represent the performing rights in Michael Jackson’s songwriting catalog.
The new deal extends BMI’s uninterrupted 41-year relationship with the King of Pop. The Estate and BMI last renewed the agreement back in 2014.
Jackson first signed with BMI at the beginning of his solo career. His songwriter credits include more than 150 songs, with more than 20 reaching multi-million performance status. His music has achieved over 6.5 billion streams, and he remains one of the most popular artists of all time.
Last year the Michael Jackson Estate contended with several ual assault allegations. The Leaving Neverland documentary on HBO sparked several lawsuits and raised questions about Michael’s relationship with children.
The Estate also for using footage of Jackson in a film called The Last Days of Michael Jackson. Disney-owned ABC broadcast the documentary without receiving approval to use Michael Jackson’s imagery. The Estate settled with Disney and filed a request to dismiss that lawsuit.
Now in 2020, a California appeals court is from the men who allege Jackson ually abused them. The judge presiding over the case reversed the previous dismissals of lawsuits filed by James Safechuck and Wade Robson.
The cases were able to be reopened because of a change to California law. The amendment extends the statute of limitations for victims of child abuse. Victims can now sue perpetrators up until their 40th birthday. Those lawsuits will be revisited later this year.
For now, it appears as though the ual allegations re-emerging hasn’t dented the Jackson Estate’s value too much.
While certain performers like Weird Al have opted out of performing his Jackson-based songs, the catalog is more profitable than ever. BMI says on-demand music streams of Jackson’s catalog increased 23% this year.
Sonos will stop updating its older speakers and hardware in May, the company has announced.
Sonos says it is retiring old products because “they have been stretched to their technical limits in terms of memory and processing power.” The change will affect many Sonos customers, as 92% of its products are still in use.
The Sonos Play:5 speaker released in 2009, and all earlier devices are affected. The issue will affect anyone who is still using older hardware and even those who have mixed equipment.
Sonos says older products can still be used, but it will prevent new speakers from receiving updates. Sonos says it is because all speakers run on the same software, so old hardware will cause the system to lag behind.
The company plans on launching a way for customers to segment their older products in a separate speaker group. Let’s be clear here; these speakers still work just fine. Sonos speakers used to be a ‘for life’ purchase for many.
Sonos is offering a ‘recycling’ program that gives users 30% off of new hardware. But the recycling program bricks your old device, rendering it completely unusable afterward. This scheme isn’t some cash for clunkers buyback program Sonos is doing here; it’s planned obsolescence.
Sonos says its recycling program is about “sustainability,” but e-waste recyclers confirm that’s not entirely true.
Putting your old Play:5 speaker into after 21 days. Bricked devices cannot be reused and end up in a landfill. The bricked hardware can’t be repaired, either. The recycling process puts the speaker’s serial number on a blacklist on Sonos’ servers.
The news sparked outrage when it hit social media, which Sonos defended. The spokesperson said the Trade-Up program is intended to “help customers that are interested in upgrading to the next generation of Sonos products.” Well, now it seems like Sonos is forcing those customers’ hands if they want an up-to-date home entertainment system.
Amazon says its Amazon Music streaming service has surpassed 55 million customers. There are six different pricing tiers for its streaming service, including a free ad-supported tier.
Amazon Music first launched in October 2016, but it still lags behind and . Just last summer, Apple Music announced 60 million subscribers. Last quarter, Spotify confirmed it has around 113 million paying subscribers and 248 million users globally.
There is no drill-down for how many users are in each of the Amazon Music tiers. Amazon does reveal that the growth of Amazon Music Unlimited is up 50% over the last year.
Amazon Music Unlimited is available in the United States, UK, Germany, Japan, and Brazil with HD-quality. France, Italy, Spain, and Mexico were also significant contributors to growth, though HD-quality music is not available yet.
Amazon’s subscription tiers encourage Prime members to give its services a try. Amazon’s dominance in the smart speaker market means there’s an Amazon Music tier just for its Alexa devices. Prime users also get a discount on the Amazon Music Unlimited service, undercutting rivals.
Spotify is focusing on music and podcast exclusives to help differentiate. But during its last earnings call, Spotify gave some insights into Amazon’s growth.
Amazon’s music streaming business is picking up more ad-supported users than paying subscribers, according to Spotify.
“Our data also suggests that Amazon’s user base skews significantly more to ‘Ad-Supported’ than ‘Premium,’ and that average engagement on our platform is approximately 3x,” Spotify said during its .
Spotify says that Amazon’s ad-supported growth leaves the company open to continue growing its paid streaming service. Spotify needs to be careful here, though, Amazon’s ecosystem is attractive to people who want all services under one provider.
Amazon has its fingers in storage, video, reading, games, and now music. If Spotify isn’t careful to diversify beyond just music, larger tech companies like Apple and Amazon could surpass it.
Draya Michele is newly single and everybody knows about it since the reality star has been posting subliminal shots at her ex-fiance Orlando Scandrick for weeks now. “Don’t hug a clown. Don’t kiss a clown. You’ll get their makeup on your face and everyone will know,” she wrote in one tweet, while another read: “People be waaaaaaacccckkkkk when you take a step back and look at them.”

While we can’t confirm the reason behind their break-up all sings allude to the idea that maybe Orlando did Draya dirty. In the meantime, Draya’s been keeping busy by hitting the gym and working on her physique but every now and then she’s been tempted to drop f another line about her single status. The latest share to Draya’s Instagram story is a re-shared image Ciara‘s husband Russell Wilson and her son, Future Jr. The caption reads, “What I gotta do?”
Considering how Ciara has previously expressed that she prayed for Russell to come into her life, maybe Draya’s hoping for a similar blessing. “I prayed for a God-fearing man; I prayed for discernment; I prayed for wisdom, to really learn from the wisdom that I gained from the experience I was going through. I prayed for a man that loved kids because obviously, me having my son— if you’re going to love me, you have to] love him,” Ciara previously admitted.
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson honored the late Nipsey Hussle throughout the NFL season with different custom cleats bearing the late rapper’s lyrics and imagery. With the season now over, Jackson will continue to pay tribute by cruising around in a Nipsey-inspired Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
The one–one truck comes equipped with an all black exterior, complimented by “Nipsey Blue” rims and a matching leather interior, as well as a blue Rolls-Royce hood ornament. Additionally, Jackson’s new Cullinan features custom lighting built into the doors that projects Nipsey’s face and logo on the ground whenever someone hops in or out the vehicle.
Check out the photos and videos Jackson’s new whip in the IG post embedded below.
Jackson, who grew up in the same neighborhood as Nipsey, was one the many athletes who were grief-stricken following Nip’s murder last March. At the time his passing, D-Jax said, “Can’t b life !! How they even allow this to happen ?? Bro I remember us being young homies before all the fame and money two young south central kids connecting and making something out our life’s and giving bac for our ppl & hood !!”

According to The Blast, R. Kelly is currently demanding to know the identity two “Jane Does” in his legal cases. Prosecutors are against providing him with that knowledge and they’re pointing to his past to explain why. In relation to Jane Doe #1, Aaliyah’s identity was suggested in court documents, which appear to explain why Kelly wanted to marry her.
“As early as 1994, the defendant took steps to prevent law enforcement from discovering and investigating his crimes,” reportedly state prosecutors in new court documents. “As alleged in the EDNY indictment, in August 1994, the defendant and others bribed a government employee to create false identification for Jane Doe #1. Witnesses have advised the government that the defendant engaged in this bribery scheme to obtain a marriage license so he could quickly and secretly marry Jane Doe #1 to avoid criminal charges for engaging in a ual relationship with Jane Doe #1, who was a minor at the time. Specifically, the defendant believed that his marriage to Jane Doe #1 would prevent her from being able to testify against him in the event he were prosecuted for his criminal ual relationship with her.”
R. Kelly is not currently allowed to know the identity either Jane Doe but it should be pretty clear for him to figure this one out.
FCC Commissioner Mike O’Rielly is fighting against the issue payola in the music industry — a concerning practice that many have made allegations for decades. In September, O’Rielly previously shared a letter asking the Recording Industry Association America to look into the issue payola. In response, the RIAA said they weren’t in a position to investigate their members’ practices and suggested that the FCC inquire directly to the labels themselves.
O’Rielly shared a letter on Twitter sent to the three major record labels, Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, and Warner Music Group, asking them to investigate “accusations that financial enticement is in some cases driving chart rankings, album and song sales, and commercial success.”
“Such practices, in turn, create unfair financial advantages for some, to the detriment others. Additionally, artificially and secretly facilitating the commercial success certain performers—or their management—at others’ expense disadvantages American consumers by undermining access to artists they might otherwise prefer,” he explained.
The FCC is requesting these labels to submit information pertaining to their knowledge payola, their understanding the current rules and what rules and laws need to be applied to curb the issue.
Among the questions are how the company defines payola and if employees are required to be trained in “payola prohibitions and potential penalties.” Peep the full letter here.
Meek Mill and his rumoured girlfriend, fashion designer Milan Harris, may have to fess up to their highly speculated relationship once and for all, after clues their budding romance were spotted on social media on Wednesday. The detective work began with a photo that Milan, who founded the fashion brand Milano di Rouge and goes by Milano, posted on Sunday. She shared a mirror selfie showing f her baby bump and clutching a Louis Vuitton bag.
It didn’t seem like much, at first; after all, she had already revealed to the public that she was pregnant at her fashion show in December, which immediately lead to fans suspecting that Meek was the father. Meek shared a photo on his Instagram story after Milano posted the above photo, though, in which the same Louis Vuitton bag can be seen on the table. The keen eyes the Internet also noticed another matching detail between content shared by these two alleged lovebirds. Meek posted a photo on his story himself standing on a patterned carpeted floor, and 7 hours later, Milano posted a photo herself standing on the same carpeted floor, captioned “Spa day.”
Quavo is evidently a fan the JIK merch because he just posed a photo him dripping in it from head-to-toe. He rocked an f-white (the shade, not the brand) crewneck with biblical paintings printed onto it, the blue vinyl-themed sweatpants and, last but not least, a pair simple JIK socks. Surprisingly, the Migos member didn’t complete the look with some Yeezys. He opted instead for the chaotic-looking Nike x Off-White Dunk Lows (the brand, not the shade), which dropped in December.
