Kanye West’s Instagram comeback died before it could truly blossom. It would appear the mysterious auteur was hit with a sudden urge to honor some popular culture’s most iconic couples, spending the better part an afternoon lining his feed with throwback pictures. While some like Michelle and Barack Obama have stood the test time, many his chosen couples have long since broken up. Perhaps it’s a testament to Kanye’s beautiful dark twisted understanding love; consider “Hell Of A Life,” which in many ways feels like one Post 808s & Heartbreaks Kanye’s definitive tracks.

His own highly publicized relationship has become embedded in cultural lore, for better or worse. It begs the question: does he identify with relationships initially fueled by passion, that go on to fizzle out and disappear from memory? After all, are Bill Bob Thornton and Angelina Jolie really worthy inclusion in the couple’s hall fame? The mind West truly works in mysterious ways. To be honest, we can sling theories for days. Either way, whatever message he may or may not have been sending is forever lost, as Kanye West has once again deleted his Instagram page.

Valentine’s Day has come and gone, and you no doubt bought your significant other all manner thoughtful gifts. Chocolates. Roses. Edible Underwear. Or, if you happen to follow the NRA on Twitter, guns. Because nothing says “I Love You” like his and her firearms. In a gesture that gives a new meaning to the term “side-piece,” the NRA caught heat after retweeting a post encouraging customers to buy Valentine’s Day guns. Granted, the organization swiftly deleted the retweet in the wake the Tragic shooting at a Florida high-school. The original tweet came from a Yonkers based firearm manufacturer called Kimber Manufacturings, and has also since been been deleted.

One follower was quick with the print-screen and managed to capture a screenshot the exchange. It began making the rounds, with many noting the insensitivity the timing. Not to mention the strange juxtaposition between the heart shaped box and the guns resting atop it.
CNN hit up both Kimber Manufacturing and the NRA for a comment but neither acquiesced. As it stands, the debate on gun control has once again reopened, as it ten does after a shooting this magnitude. The tragedy and the pleas those affected have been having an impact on the masses, though it’s unclear whether or not the powers at be will actually move for change. Either way, the NRA has no doubt won any allies over this Valentine’s Day gaffe.

Most the NBA All-Stars seemed to agree that the league dropped the ball by not televising the first annual All-Star Draft. Fans were surely hoping to see who LeBron James and Steph Curry selected and exactly who was picked first, second, etc.
Well, according to NBA commissioner Adam Silver, Curry was actually opposed to televising the draft and was part the reason it took place behind closed doors.

During Silver’s appearance on ESPN’s “The Jump” yesterday, he explained that the Golden State Warriors All-Star point guard was the one who wanted to do a secretive draft before they talked about televising it.
Silver says, “I agree with Steph. He was the one who said, ‘Give us a break. We changed the format for the first time. Let’s see how it goes, and we can talk about televising it.’”
After the draft was completed, both LeBron and Steph said they hope the league televises everything next year. Check out Silver’s comments about the draft below.

The project’s title — a clear nod to Cam’ron’s classic line in the 2002 film Paid in Full — continues a familiar theme for Dolph, who released Bulletpro shortly after being the target a shooting in Charlotte. He even used bulletpro flak jackets as promotional merchandise for his last release, which came shortly after another incident where Dolph was shot in Hollywood.

Now that the Ryan Coogler-directed Black Panther has ficially hit theaters, the film is swiftly proving to be the cultural phenomenon it was predicted to be.
Black Panther, which currently boasts a score 97% on Rotten Tomatoes, already broke an advance ticket sales record and will likely break even more records as the weekend progresses. Some estimates predict the film could bring in as much as $200 million over the weekend, which would break the record for the best pre-summer debut ever.
The record for biggest opening weekend (domestic) currently belongs to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, with nearly $248 million.
Moviegoers showed up and showed out on Thursday (February 15), arriving to theaters in full cosplay or Wakanda-inspired attire.
A number celebrities have also stepped up to ensure that everyone is able to see the film. On Saturday (February 17), Kendrick Lamar and TDE will host a free screening Black Panther for children living in housing projects in Los Angeles.

Miami, FL – At the beginning Drake’s video for “God’s Plan,” the masterminds behind the visual reveal they had a budget $996,631.90.
And they gave it all away.
Spearheaded by Director X and Karena Evans, “God’s Plan” captures the spirit the Miami people and documents all Drake’s good deeds.
While shooting the video in Miami, the philanthropic Toronto superstar paid for people’s groceries, gave a University Miami college student $50,000, took a housekeeper on a $10,000 shopping spree, donated $25,000 to Miami Senior High School and donated $50,000 to the Lotus House Women’s Shelter — and those are just the donations we knew about.
Throughout the emotionally charged video, we see everything else Drake accomplished while in Florida. He walks up to people on the street and hands them stacks cash as they burst into tears. He gifts a van to the Overtown Youth Center, donates $20,000 to a fire department, takes several people on a shopping spree at Saks Fifth Avenue and buys carts full toys for countless children.
And he’s not done there. Before the end the video, he also buys a couple lucky families a brand new car.
“God’s Plan” is taken from the Scary Hours EP, and the new visual sends a message compassion while proving Drake loves more than just his bed and his mama.
More than four years removed from 2013’s The Electric Lady, singer/actress Janelle Monáe has announced a brand new LP titled Dirty Computer, as well as a video that she has dubbed “an emotion picture.”
The announcement includes an accompanying short film. The teaser, which was shared today, also features Thor: Ragnarok actress Tessa Thompson, among others. The clip is set to be shown in selected theaters before screenings Marvel’s Black Panther, which ficially opens Friday (February 16).
Monáe isn’t in the superhero movie, but attended the Hollywood premiere in January.

The cinematic accompaniment is especially exciting as Monáe has been building an impressive filmography, appearing in the award-winning film Moonlight in 2016, and later that year Hidden Figures — which won a Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Cast in a Motion Picture.
There is no additional information about the album, and no release date has been set.
Drake unleashed his “God’s Plan” video into the world on Friday (February 16) and people clearly weren’t ready for the emotions they were about to feel.
Throughout the nearly six-minute visual, we see the Toronto music giant bless one person after another with money, cars, shopping sprees and donations. Shot in Miami, the emotive video yielded heavy praise from people on Twitter.
Many admitted they cried while watching it and some revealed they had a newfound respect for Drake.
The concept “God’s Plan,” which is taken from the Scary Hours EP, sees Drake’s faith to the test and finds him relying on a power greater than himself to get him through life.
It also inspired the 6 God to enact his own social media challenge.
“I am not into challenges on IG I find them annoying,” he wrote on Friday (February 16). “but today I am going to challenge everyone to just go out and do something for someone, anything, the smallest thing just to bring another human being some joy and please tag me in it somehow so I can see all the love being spread…you don’t have to play the song in the background or have some other tactics being used.”
He adds, “Just go be kind in any way you can and let’s all watch the world be nice to each other even if it’s for 24 hours … Thank You.”
People were feeling the video and a few them deemed Drake not only a legend but also the G.O.A.T. following its release.
Los Angeles, CA – Tech N9ne’s b-boy prowess was unearthed during a recent trip to Shade45’s world-famous The Wake Up Show with King Tech.
The Strange Music Tech, whose upcoming album Planet is set to orbit around March 2, gave his fully edited “Don’t Nobody Want None” video a serious run for its money with an in-studio performance that had Wake Up Show Tech breaking out the strobe lights.
“The Wake Up Show has been going strong on XM Shade45 for over five years every Monday night and Thursday morning, but recently they opened their doors on the West Coast for DJ Revolution and myself to start recording live with artists in the studio again,” King Tech tells HipHopDX, while noting Ron Mills was extremely instrumental in making it happen.
“He kept telling me, ‘Tech, if you build it they will come’ and then he got the turntables and gave us a place to record — rest will be history,” King Tech continued. “So two weeks ago, we did just that, I took all the electro-hop ’80s classics and remixed the Tech N9ne record, never played it for him and made him do it live on the air. We even had everyone wear goggles and start popping and strutting in the room. Even the camera guy and board app had to pull some moves out!”
An excited Tech N9ne tells DX that even as the artist, he was taken aback by the creativity that was being brought to the table.
“The first time King Tech played the remix, I flipped out cause it contained all my favorite b-boy hits from back in the day. I had no idea what he had brewing but the outcome was mind-blowing!”
Since 1991, The Wake Up Show, founded by Sway Calloway and King Tech, has been putting on for established and eventual Hip Hop legends alike such as Eminem, RZA, KRS-One, Pharoahe Monch, Kool G Rap, Common and more. Tech N9ne actually made his debut appearance sometime in 1998.
King Tech hopes that more “electro-hop” begins to fer fans some variation in the near future.
“This was a big shoutout from me to all the legendary ’80s electro-hop artists & DJs who never seem to get mentioned anymore,” he exclaimed. “If you look at the electro-hop Wikipedia page, there’s nothing really there! Like, what the hell is going on? It’s really sad if people don’t know how important groups like Planet Patrol, Newcleus, Man Parrish, Kraftwerk, Jonzun Crew, Hashim and many more who were big to the culture Hip Hop and helping it make a distinct/unique sound that only belonged to us, or so we thought.
“Once again Tech N9ne is ahead the pack when it comes to being creative as an artist! That guy can flow over damn nearly anything!”
Young Dolph leaps out once again with Ni**as Get Shot Everyday, a surprise six-track EP that continues his ongoing series about getting shot.
The new project kicks f with “Kush on the Yacht” and ends with “Blonde & a Onion.” In the middle the EP, Dolph reveals the paranoia that comes with his life.
“Sold a lot dope,” he raps on “Paranoid.” “I do it for the dope boys / The feds in the hood, this shit got me paranoid / The feds in the hood / and I heard they takin’ pictures, let me knock on wood / I hope those folks don’t come and get us.”
The project follows last year’s Thinking Out Loud, Tracking Numbers, Bulletpro, and Gelato. The title, Ni**as Get Shot Everyday, references a history gun violence that has affected Dolph.
One year ago, in February 2017, Dolph was the apparent target a shooting in Charlotte, where his bulletpro SUV was shot at more than 100 times. He was not in the vehicle at the time. By September, he was shot multiple times in Los Angeles, where he had to be hospitalized.
Ni**as Get Shot Everyday also references Cam’ron’s famous line from the classic film, Paid in Full. “Ni**as get shot everyday, b,” he says in the video. “You’ll be alright, ni**a. You tough, right?”
