A$AP Rocky's "Sundress" Collaboration With Tame Impala Surfaces Online

A$AP Rocky doesn’t do issues in a standard method. He by no means has and he doubtless by no means will. You at all times are left guessing in the case of when he is dropping, the place he is dropping and the way he is dropping. Testing was saved a thriller for a lot this 12 months and it options some the perfect songs 2018. While the album as a complete is much less appreciated by followers, particular person songs like “Fukk Sleep” and “Praise The Lord” obtain so much shine. With his new tour announcement, many have been keeping track of the artist and a brand new track appears to have surfaced from out nowhere.

Yesterday, “Sundress” with Tame Impala confirmed up on Vimeo and diehard followers the artist had been fast to search out it earlier than it was placed on non-public. Unfortunately, issues like this occur typically. Some followers bought their screen-capture working to document the clip, sharing the brand new track with the world. From the sounds it, it sounds on par or higher than most Testing. It’s troublesome to find out what this may imply in phrases a brand new album. The tour introduced by Rocky is named Injured Generation. Could we be inching in the direction of a brand new album the identical title?

The monitor being sampled right here is “Why Won’t You Make Up Your Mind?” from Tame Impala’s 2010 album. You can hearken to the track Highsnobiety right here.

Travis Scott Sessions Are "Loudest S*** I’ve Ever Heard," Says Kevin Parker

Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker has recently found himself engulfed in a number sessions with prominent rap and R&B artists. In a new interview with Billboard, he’s shared some insight into the making Travis’ “Skeletons” from Astroworld, Kanye’s “Violent Crimes,” his unreleased collaboration with SZA, and Rihanna’s cover “New Person, Same Old Mistakes.”

One interesting moment in the interview comes when Parker details the extreme volume the music played at Travis’ sessions. “I]t’s the loudest shit I’ve ever heard,” he says the “many” sessions he did with Travis. “I’ve never heard music played that loud in my life, and possibly never will. I’m talking huge speakers. These studios have these speakers that are like, 12 inches each. And they were blowing out. Your eardrums rattle. Even the hi-hats kind make your ears rumble a bit. That’s fuckin’ intense. After about a half-hour, I think your ears close up a bit so you can deal with it more.”

To Parker, it was exactly how Astroworld was meant to be heard. “It was everything I’d hoped it would be,” he said Travis’ studio setup. “Even listening to the album for the first time, hearing a lot the songs I hadn’t heard, I had immediate flashbacks. I could smell the blunts. Laughs.] The air was thick with blunt smoke. It was such a potent vibe that I just had full-on flashbacks. Even listening to “Skeletons” now, it feels weird to listen to it at moderate volumes, because it was so eyeball-shakingly loud for all the times up until then.”

Later, when asked about Rihanna’s cover Tame Impala’s “Same Old Mistakes” on Anti, Parker said that Kendrick had told him SZA introduced Rihanna to the band. “I did a session with Kendrick] once, and he was like, ‘Oh, do you know how Rihanna got on to your stuff?’ I was like, ‘No.’ He was like, ‘Oh yeah, SZA played it to Rihanna late at night at my session.’ She was like, ‘You’ve gotta check out Tame Impala.’ I guess that’s how she knew,” Parker recalled. The Tame Impala songwriter went on to say that he had imagined a “female R&B voice” on the record as he was writing it, so he’s happy with Rihanna’s version, though he’s still never met her. Also, he’s not made about the royalties it generates: “I got 100 percent the publishing, so I was like, ‘Fuck yeah!'”

Tame Impala's Kevin Parker Talks Working With SZA, Kanye West & More

While hip-hop and indie rock have occasionally crossed paths, few have found themselves immersed in the scene like Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker. The singer recently spoke with Beats 1 host Matt Wilkinson, where he opened up about working with SZA, Kanye West, and more.

“I hope it sees the light day. When we were working with SZA, that was like 10 days before her album came out and since then her album has just exploded and she’s been a really busy person,” explains Parker. “We were messing around on a bunch things, but there was that one song that was like, ‘we’ve got to get this out.” For those wondering, the song in question is “Back Together,” which was previously performed live, but never ficially released.

Not only did Parker find himself working with SZA, but he also contributed to one the year’s biggest projects – Kanye West’s Ye – finding himself credited on album closer “Violent Crimes.” Speaking on that process, Parker breaks it down, stating “there’s a whirlwind things happening and then no-one really knows. Kanye’s got – he’s in his space, throwing down ideas, taking ideas out, putting this with this, seeing if that works. He might not even know which part who worked on the song is going to end up on the song until the last minute.”

For those looking beyond the hip-hop realm, rest assured that Tame Impala is hard at work on their new album, which is set to surface at some point in 2019. Peep the full interview right here.
