"The Suicide Squad" Official Cast Revealed By James Gunn

Suicide Squad was a box fice hit, grossing nearly $750 million worldwide. Still, it was widely panned by fans and critics for bad writing and awkward interactions. Fast forward to 2019. A sequel is being put together by James Gunn, who was hired by DC when he was fired by Marvel/Disney. Although Gunn is back with Marvel, he is still working with DC as well. Gunn crafted both Guardians Of The Galaxy films, and enjoyed both box fice success and good reviews. Now, he will take that same energy to the Suicide Squad sequel.

Simply titled The Suicide Squad, the sequel film is a st reboot sorts. A few old cast members are coming back from the original (such as Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn and Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller), but there is a long list new faces. Gunn took to social media to introduce the new cast to the world with a promotional poster for The Suicide Squad. Joining the sequel cast is Idris Elba, who was first set to replace Will Smith’s Deadshot, but is now confirmed to be playing an unknown new role. Pete Davidson, John Cena, Jennifer Holland, Michael Rooker, and Sean Gunn also join the cast, with the last two names jumping from Guardians the Galaxy into Suicide Squad. The film is set to debut in August 2021.

Joe Russo Says Spider-Man Leaving The MCU Is "A Tragic Mistake On Sony’s Part"

Things haven’t been the same since Spider-Man left the MCU. It’s only been a few weeks since Disney and Sony’s deal to keep Peter Parker in the MCU evaporated, but the Marvel Cinematic Universe already feels weird without him. Although Spidey was only in phase 3 MCU movies (Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home), Tom Holland played the wall-crawler in more movies than any previous actors. Holland was a shining bright spot in the MCU, and Far From Home was the first Spidey film to hit a billion at the worldwide box fice. All those dollar signs must have blinded both Disney and Sony, who are equally to blame for the breakup. In an interview with the Toronto Sun, Endgame and Infinity War directors Anthony & Joe Russo gave their opinion on the situation.

“It was so difficult to get him into Civil War,” admitted Anthony. “It was an extremely long and hard process. But we were driven to help make it happen. But (Marvel Studios President) Kevin Feige pulled it f, somehow. Disney and all the good people at Sony found a way to make it work and it lasted a few films. We had a wonderful experience with that and I think audiences really appreciated that marriage. But we know how hard that marriage was to make in the first place, so the fact that the marriage fell apart isn’t really that surprising to me and Joe.”

“It was a tenuous, fraught union throughout the whole process,” added Joe. “But, I will say, stepping back and trying to be objective as possible, that I think it’s a tragic mistake on Sony’s part to think that they can replicate Kevin’s penchant for telling incredible stories and the amazing success he has had over the years. I think it’s a big mistake.”

De’Aaron Fox’s NBA 2K20 Dunk Rating Gets Major Boost After He Calls Out 2K

NBA 2K saw De’Aaron Fox’s complaints about his atrocious dunk rating, and they made a point to give him a significant upgrade in the latest update.

The Sacramento Kings’ point guard, who checks in at an 86 overall in NBA 2K20, took to twitter last week when the game ficially released and jokingly called out the powers that be for disrespecting his hops with a 60 rating.

Just days later, 2K issued an update and Fox seems quite pleased with the result, as his dunk rating jumped 20 points to a solid 80.

Fox recently showcased his impressive hops while he was training with Team USA in Las Vegas, which included an f-the-wall between-the-legs dunk, so he is certainly worth the upgrade. As far as the best dunkers in 2K are concerned though, Fox has a long way to go if he wants to reach elite status.

The game’s greatest finishers at the rim are led by New Orleans Pelicans rookie Zion Williamson who boasts a 97 dunk rating. Zion is followed by two-time Slam Dunk champ Zach LaVine and 2018 dunk contest winner Donovan Mitchell, both whom have a 96 dunk rating. Rounding out the Top 5 is Aaron Gordon (95) and the defending dunk champ, Hamidou Diallo (95).

Live Nation Shows Off Healthy Q2 2019 Earnings — Says Smaller Artist Tours Are Booming

Live Nation has posted encouraging Q2 2019 profits — and Wall Street is taking notice.

Having secured earnings equal to $.41 per share during the second quarter of 2019, Live Nation was able to top the $.39 per-share earnings that experts predicted. It’s also worth noting that many other experts believed that this forecast, $.39 earnings per share, was overly optimistic.

Moreover, the net income specifics are similarly positive, and as a whole, it seems likely that the company will enjoy a highly successful second half of the year.

Second-quarter revenue was up by 10%, and interestingly, Live Nation indicated that revenue from artists outside the top 100 has jumped by nearly a third this year.  In other words, fans of internationally beloved and locally appreciated artists alike are turning to Live Nation for tickets — and that’s important.

Of course, Live Nation is great at painting a glowing picture of things, and that includes presenting its business as well-rounded and diversified.  But there’s evidence that the broader live concert business isn’t just a top-heavy affair, with analyses isolating the top 100 touring artists likely skewed.

Live Nation earned about $3.16 billion during Q2 2019; during the second quarter of 2018, earnings failed to crack $3 billion.

Apparently, Wall Street investors were impressed with and excited by Live Nation’s better-than-expected earnings; the stock (LYV) rose about 2.5% in a single day. Though significant, this growth is minor compared to the astounding value increase the stock has seen during 2019. Having begun the year at less than $50 per share, Live Nation now trades at nearly $75 per share.

That’s right—savvy investors could have earned a 50% profit in less than eight months had they placed an order back in January.

However, hindsight is always 20/20, and though the foundation for Live Nation’s upward trajectory was there at the start of 2019, one would have been hard-pressed to predict this level of success.  A combination of enhanced efforts in the U.S. market and a have allowed Live Nation to reach more clients than ever before.

Lashana Lynch To Portray The New 007 In Upcoming Bond Film: Reports

According to new reports, the Idris Elba theory has fallen flat as the new 007 agent set to replace the image once portrayed by Daniel Craig is actually a black woman, specifically British actress Lashana Lynch.

“There is a pivotal scene at the start the film where M says ‘Come in 007’,” an insider tells the Daily Mail. “And in walks Lashana who is black, beautiful and a woman. It’s a popcorn-dropping moment. Bond is still Bond but he’s been replaced as 007 by this stunning woman.”

The Mail goes on to clarify, however, that Lynch is not shaking up the entire Bond storyline as she portrays the agent who adopts the codename that James Bond gives up after his departure from MI6.

As it turns out, Bond 25 won’t be without Craig after all as it takes place in Jamaica where the now-retired Bond resides, that is until his retirement is disrupted when M–played by Ralph Fiennes–calls Bond in on another international crisis.

“Bond, course, is sexually attracted to the new female 007 and tries his usual seduction tricks, but is baffled when they don’t work on a brilliant, young black woman who basically rolls her eyes at him and has no interest in jumping into his bed. Well, certainly not at the beginning,” the insider details, adding that the label “Bond Girls” is now forbidden. “We were all told that from now on they are to be addressed as ‘Bond Women’.”

On the interesting twist, fans have writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the critically-acclaimed “Killing Eve” series, to thank.

“There’s been a lot talk about whether or not Bond is relevant now because who he is and the way he treats women,” Waller-Bridge previously noted. “I think that’s b******s. I think he’s absolutely relevant now. The franchise] has just got to grow. It has just got to evolve, and the important thing is that the film treats the women properly. He doesn’t have to. He needs to be true to his character.

NFL Looking At 18-Game Season With 16 Games Per Player Limit: Report

NFL owners are constantly looking for ways to increase their prits and commissioner Roger Goodell is usually right there with them. According to a report from the Wall Street JournalGoodell and the rest the owners are actually seriously considering an 18-game and have proposed the idea to the NFL Players Association. What’s interesting about this idea is that it would put a limit on how many games each individual player can participate in. Based on the current proposal, there would be a 16-game limit per player which means teams would have to pick and choose which two games they want to sit players.

Of course, this would create a competitive imbalance at times as teams trying to get into the playfs could be at risk losing out because they have to sit a star player. The idea has already received quite a bit skepticism from the NFLPA with president Eric Winston scfing at the notion.

As right now, owners such as Robert Kraft the New England Patriots and Jerry Jones the Dallas Cowboys have been at the forefront the plan. The NFL thinks this new proposal will actually help the players because they will be able to get larger contracts from the increase in revenue while not having to worry about an uptick in injuries.

It doesn’t appear as though this plan will be approved anytime soon.

iHeartMedia Withdraws Its Estimated $1.5 Billion Public Offering

iHeartMedia has withdrawn its IPO in favor of a NASDAQ listing.

Instead of the expected IPO, iHeartMedia has received approval from NASDAQ to be listed and traded on the stock exchange. The Class A stock is expected to be listed on July 18th, and its symbol will be “IHRT.”

iHeartMedia originally planned to raise capital with an initial public offering (IPO), but executives, investors, and financial analysts have reversed course, believing, it would seem, that listing the brand directly on the stock exchange would prove more beneficial in the long term.

The decision was likely influenced by the stock market’s recent success.

The last three or so years have brought with them immense stock-related profits, and more recently, June has proven to be the best month for stocks since 1938, when the market was recovering from the turbulence of the Great Depression. The first half of 2019 has been the most lucrative half-year the S&P 500 has posted in over two decades, since 1997.

Additionally, iHeartMedia, which owns nearly 850 radio stations, was banking on an IPO to reduce the strain and spending implications of their former $20 billion debt.  However, some careful restructuring has worked to eliminate much of this debt, and without the need for immediate liquid capital, a debut on the exchange seems more appealing.

iHeartMedia is based out of Texas and was founded, as fans know it today, 11 years ago (having existed in various forms since 1972). In 2017, the company earned more than six billion dollars, and at the time of writing, nearly 20,000 individuals are employed by iHeartMedia.

Financial experts seem split on how profitable this maneuver will be for iHeartMedia, and most industry professionals have indicated that the market’s initial reception will provide useful information concerning the near-future success for iHeartMedia.

In the meantime, fans can continue listening, and potential investors can get their wallets ready for IHRT’s exchange debut.

Judge Stops Donald Trump’s Plan To Use $2.5 Billion To Build The Wall

A Northern California federal judge permanently halted the Trump Administration from putting in a total $2.5 billion dollars into funding the infamous wall which is set to build barriers between the United States’ southwestern border. The latter served as a major blow to the White House’s efforts to fund a border wall without getting approval from Congress. Judge Haywood S. Gilliam Jr. who ruled against the administration claims that President Tump’s efforts to use the funds from the Department Defense toward the border project is “unlawful.” The decision follows an earlier temporary injunction granted last month wherein Judge Gilliam claimed that the White House’s efforts did not “square with fundamental separation powers principles dating back to the earliest days our Republic.”

Moreover, the Trump administration sought to take the $2.5 billion dollars from counterdrug programs in the Department Defense to build the infamous wall. The president’s critics were pleased with the legal move. “All President Trump has succeeded in building is a constitutional crisis, threatening immediate harm to our state,” were the words Attorney General Xavier Becerra California. Hence, it looks like Trump’s plans for a wall have taken an unexpected turn. We expect more on this later.

Disneyland Set To Launch Marvel Comics-Themed Amusement Park: Report

Disneyland just dropped major dollars to launch a park extension. Following the recent opening the Star Wars-themed park in California, Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, the business company announced it would be working on doing something similar, but with the world Marvel Comics. According to People, the company just filed a construction permit for a 2020 project inspired by the Marvel Comics, precisely a new amusement park which will be home to attractions tied to Marvel comics and movies. The Los Angeles Times further reported that the construction permits obtained detail work which exceeds $14 million dollars to have refurbished bathrooms, a microbrewery built and construct an area for guests to meet their favorite superhero characters.

Moreover, the permits also indicate that the city approved a 2,071-square-foot merchandise outlet. The new land will take over a portion A Bug’s Land, which closed back in September and was inspired by the 1998 movie, A Bug’s Life. Thus far, a temporary wall has been set-up to hint at the oncoming project by displaying the words “Stark Industries,” — in honor Iron Man Tony Stark’s fictional business. Disney ficials declined to comment on any other features the land, but fans can surely expect quite the amusement park.

Nearly $1 Million Is Left In Airport TSA Bins Every Year

It can be an absolute hassle to stand through the long waits in Airport Security but once you’ve gotten through and it’s time to head to your gate, you might want to think twice about double-checking your bins. If you’ve ever travelled on a place in your life, you know that you must scan your carry-on baggage through TSA before hopping on your flight, removing your laptop from its case and, more ten than not, placing your shoes and belts in a separate bin. Lines can be long and if you’re in a rush, you might not be paying too much attention to what you’re actually retrieving because as reported by Vox, nearly $1 million is left in TSA bins on a yearly basis.

One the most unusual revenue sources for TSA has been the loose change left behind in airports across the nation. The amount money being left behind keeps on growing too as folks get more and more reckless with their money. In 2012, the TSA had collected just over $500K in loose change and last year, that number grew to $960K. With everybody being asked to empty their pockets and scatter their belongings in bins when they walk through the scans, it can be easy to leave behind some change. Especially when it’s less than a dollar, you might actually consciously leave the coins on the table.

The money left behind is not exclusively lower-amount coins though because when wallets go unclaimed, TSA gets hold some big bills. If you’re curious about which airports rack up the most change, larger cities tend to be higher on the list. JFK and LAX were nearly tied at the top with $70K whereas Reno’s airport left behind less than $20.

PlayStation 5 Launch Is Still At Least A Year Away According To Sony

The next gen consoles are coming. Both Sony and Microst plan on unveiling their new systems in the near future, with the Xbox system taking the lead. At this year’s E3, which takes place next month, Microst is expected to introduce the world to their rumored Scarlet system, which is said to be a multi-hardware device. Whispers cloud gaming, VR, and solid state drives have surrounded the Scarlet rumors, and the world will know more once E3 commences. Sony will not be revealing their latest system at E3 this year, but a new update from the company at least answers the question when we may see the new system in action.

Wall Street  Journal tech-writer Takashi Mochizuki took to Twitter to announce that Sony had blessed him with some insider information. “Sony:
-No next-gen PlayStation launch over next 12 months,” he wrote on Twitter. “-PS Now has been ave. 40% annual growth since launch, now 700,000 users. -Much Y31.1 billion (difference between past fy op vs this fy op outlook) to be invested to develop next PlayStation console.” Since Sony isn’t planning to launch the PS5 within the next year, a 2020 holiday rollout appears to be imminent. That gives gamers just over 18 months before they can step into the next generation Sony gaming.
